when you make your icons what size do you make them?

I usually make my "icons" 300x300. Because I have bad eyesight and the bigger the image, the better for me. And tumblr doesn't have very strict restrictions about blog avatars and such - so 300 is ok. But I can always re-size if anyone wants to use one in some other place.
