Desertduo Roommates AU

TLDR: Grian & Scar happens to end up sharing an apartment together, not knowing eachother alter ego, they became close friends. They would get home from work and help each other out, patch their bruises, and give some advice, all while not knowing that their working directly against each other.

(Loosely based of Hermitcraft s6 & 7)

Grian (alert ego is Pesky bird to avoid getting caught) advocates or rather resist the plans of Scar to terraform the mycelium island into a "green paradise" but Grian believes it should be left alone as it's natural state. Scar here is a really good business man who wants to buy the mycelium island and turn it into a big shopping district, but in it's current state people don't find it esthetically pleasing and so he plans to take action and "fix" it.

Grian works as an architect in Sahara, Sahara unsuccessfully rivaling ConCorps monopoly. Grian started seeing Concorp CEOs (Scar & Cub) as some "evil" greedy company after their plan of taking over the mycelium island has been announced. Scar sees Pesky bird as a mildly amusing but mostly frustrating nuisance that's in the way of his plan, for this bird has been secretly undoing any progress done to turn the mycelium to grass. They have never really faced each other one on one, and Scar have only seen Pesky bird from afar.

Scar's relationships:

Cub - Concorp business partner/best friend

🔷️ Only one knows about Scar's alter ego

Used to be roommates Scar, but both went on to get their own place when Concorp has seen incredible success and been living separately since then.

Bdubs - Concorp employee/friend

☘️ Scar personally hired him as they have known Bdubs incredible skill before Concorp's rise. (Bdubs got his job through nepotism /hj)

Cleo - Friend

🥀 Gotten to know them through Bdubs. Scar occasionally commissions them to work on sculptures and other designs.

Grian's relationships:

Taurtis - childhood best friend

🍪 A fan of DDVAU (this have a minor relevance in the plot)

Unintentionally gave Grian the idea to be Pesky bird

Was supposed to share an apartment with Grian after Mumbo moved out, but had some issue coming in the country and couldn't come till over a month later.

Jimmy - friend

🥚 Grian knew Lizzie in high-school and met Jimmy through her.

Pearl - friend and classmate from highschool till college.

🌻 Freelance artist + works on flower boutique shop w/Sausage

Mumbo - Sahara colleague/close friend

👔 Only knows about Grian's secret identity

Used to live with Grian, but move out after Mumbo defeatedly gives up on trying to Grian proof everything he owns.

(DDVAU is a fictional series in this universe, which eventually gotten itself a movie! Cute guy & hotguy are considered popular fictional characters.)

Scar feeling rather lonely in his fancy apartment perfect for two, decided to offer a suspiciously good deal for someone to be his roommate or err apartment-mate I gues

Meanwhile Grian in the airport disappointedly given the news that Taurtis flight got canceled. Since his other options are either lives far away (Pearl), he decided to call Jimmy and quickly ended the phone call as soon as he answered; Grian decided he's not that desperate and went online just for him to just in time stumble upon Scar's roommate open listing. The offer was too good

Is this fate? A gift from God? A scam waiting to happened? Either way, he rather be scammed than owe Jimmy./silly To Grian pleasant surprise, Scar is a good "roommate" and his first few days went by smoothly; although Grian have no idea what Scar does for work, for all he knows Scar could've been rich due to nepotism or whatever job he has does not require him to leave his apartment or so he thought
