How can people try to figure out ways to make something viral or create a meme, when that is so random you can’t even understand what is happening?

I mean, one of the latest memes is essentially a picture of someone’s hand petting a cat, with captions that somehow tie that to a nuclear event.

Of course, it feels so funny to see that. Perhaps, someone could try and research and develop something, thinking that this may be the next viral thing, the next meme, but fails, only to see “me petting the cat” appearing everywhere.

I would liken Pearl's dependency issues more to Ruby's thing with codependency and lack of autonomy than to Jasper. Both Pearl and Ruby fell head over heels for the gem they were already in service of, and as a result they struggled with shaping an identity that isn't wholy dependent on that relationship
