Finally got around to not only taking pics of my home, but stitching them all together to make this lovely, UI- and sprite-free version. Maybe I’ll do one of my farm layout when I have a day that everything looks nice. And yeah, I have a couple of mods and palette changes, so here you go: You’ll notice that Elliott’s space is a bit different. I’m using Spouse Rooms Redesigned to make it look a bit more professional. And I think it matches better with what I have going on in my fic. :) I’m also using Bathroom After 2nd House Upgrade that basically gives you the spa right in your own home. You can only get it once you add the upstairs to your house, so even if you have the mod installed before that, it won’t show up. Time to farm that hardwood! Not seen but in use is Chefs Closet, which lets you expand your fridge space with chests. As long as they touch the kitchen counter area you can access those food items and cook with them. It didn’t seem to want to work for me when I got the first house upgrade, but worked fine after the second, so I’m not sure if I did something bizarre or it’s a bug. Regardless, I can now cook All The Things. Finally, I have Get Dressed, which lets me do minor cosmetic changes to my avatar. I hardly use it, really, but it did give me better hair options and change out one or two things. Plus, it lets you change your looks after character creation, which I don’t think you can do otherwise. Heads-up! To use any of these mods you’ll have to install SMAPI. It’s quick and easy and doesn’t damage your base game, but if you are going to use mods, be sure you use the run file that SMAPI creates, not the default game one. You can easily change the run path to map to that file so you don’t have to screw around with file hunting each time, especially if your SDV directory is buried really deeply for Steam users like me. For aesthetic purposes, I grabbed a few really classy ones. First, I have Purple Museum Reward Furniture, which changes the museum reward furniture into lovely, matching purple pieces. The most obvious and striking change is the use of Classy New Interior which changes damn near everything and looks wicked posh. It also has options for the Get Dressed mod, so you can match up everything. At some point when I can be bothered to screw with unpacking and messing with the game textures again, I want to add in Bathroom Recolors and Fireplaces from the same author to match things up a bit more. If you don’t already know how to edit the image files click this link to get the files and learn how to unpack, modify, and repack the .xnb files. It isn’t hard, but it is a bit confusing at first. BACK UP ALL OF YOUR FILES FIRST! Also, you’ll need a copy of Photoshop, Gimp, ClipStudio, or some other image editing program as well. Happy modding, all, show us your amazing homes and farms! :)
