So my Black Veil Brides/In This Moment concert was last night

Both bands were absolutely amazing, and the opener (Ded) was great too. If I go to another concert anytime soon, it’s probably going to be one of them again. In my opinion, the best songs live were Overture/Shadows Die for BVB (”If I don’t blink or breathe during Overture, mind your own goddamn business” - me before the show) and Whore or Lay Your Gun Down (In This Moment)

Also, another one of my favorite moments during the show (during In This Moment’s set, right after Big Bad Wolf)

Maria Brink: What were the lyrics again? “Even in these chains, you can’t...”

The entire crowd: “Stop me!”

Maria Brink: That’s what I fucking thought, Jersey.

I also think witnessing Whore live was one of the best experiences of my life so far.

Might I add, both of the main acts incorporating a drum solo into their acts was an excellent mood, my sister and father (both drummers) could probably explain that more than I could, but it was great nonetheless.

How I didn’t lose my vocal chords during BVB’s set alone is beyond me. It was amazing (plus the guy proposing during their set was pretty great)

`15/10 experience.

Maria doesn’t make it all about her at all. She often recognizes without the guys in In This Moment (Chris, Randy, Travis, and Kent), the band could not exist. She deeply respects them and their input on everything, and they deeply respect her and trust her vision. She might come up with a lot of the visual concepts and lyrics, but the guys also have their input and they all collaborate together. Randy draws a lot of the artwork, Chris helps write the lyrics, Travis helps Randy with design, Kent helps with concepts for live shows. They all have a role and it definitely isn’t all about Maria, nor does she pretend it is. It’s the fans that make it all about her, because she is a beautiful woman and the lead singer so she’s who people focus on. Lead singers always get the majority of the attention as they are usually seen as the face/voice of the band. And when it’s a woman, people go kind of crazy over it. That isn’t the lead singer’s fault, though it does make some have an ego. Maria however is the sweetest and definitely feels the guys are just as important to the existence and growth of the band, which they are.
