Episode 015: The One Where Onion Steals Stuff and Doesn't Face Any Consequences At All
Nice Mega Man visual reference when he's talking about the GUYS.
Onion's dad sounds like the love child of Strong Bad and The Cheat, but he looks like the Man in the Yellow Hat from Curious George if he moved to Maine.
I wonder if Onion's antics are lulz random or if they make more sense upon a rewatch.
Holy crap, that motorbike was filled with like a zillion gallons of gas!
"Try and act like a rich duck!" Perfect!
I would be quite happy with a Dave Guy personally.
"Now we have new memories! Horrible, horrible memories!"
It still bugs me that Onion caused so much destruction and faced literally no consequences for it because he missed his dad. Sure, the destruction was easily reversed, but neither he nor Steven knew that at the time (and also at one point Onion *threw a bunch of cars* at Garnet which, had it been nearly anyone else, would’ve been fatal), and just because someone had a reason for lashing out doesn’t mean that everyone should be cool with them lashing out. But everyone’s just like, “Aww, little Onion misses his dad! What kind of wanton destruction and attempted murder will our little rapscallion get up to next? Oh, well!”
It’s also a little hard to judge because I have no idea what age Onion is supposed to be. His behavior may make more sense if he was, like, three or four and had no concept of the consequences of his actions, but he’s also running around unsupervised and "buying” hamburgers and riding motorbikes and so on, so either he’s older and should understand that “throwing several cars at people is wrong and will probably kill them” or the people of Beach City are super irresponsible to let someone who’s barely older than a toddler do what he does all day.
