As Halloween draws closer and closer, you decide to play a little prank on your favorite suitors. How will they react to some unexpected teasing from you? 

This event will be split into 2 parts, with 2 different previews for each event~

Ranking event

Since the ranking event started today, I thought I'd put together a quick guide so you guys can get to playing it too. Keep in mind that you need to have Granlot Kingdom (the first area) cleared before you can participate in events.

There are a few types of events that typically last for ten days and give out rewards such as items, Orbs and Spirits. I'll go over every type of event eventually as they happen. So far we've only had the ranking event, which got a complete overhaul during the renewal.

In this event type you compete against other players by collecting points from event Races. These events are always paired with a special summon box. The Spirits that are the focus of that box make the Races drop more Boss Tickets (4* only) and Medals (4* and 3* both). It doesn’t matter whether you equip the Spirits as Main or Support. The events also come with their own set of Hero's Challenges. When you clear a Race for the first time, you get an Event Episode.

Event Races

In the Event Races enemies drop War Medals. The amount of Medals you’ve collected also become your overall points when multiplied by ten. They also drop Boss Tickets, which are needed to play the Boss Races, which drop a lot more War Medals. The Boss Races don’t use your stamina. Sometimes Rare Monsters may appear during the Races (indicated by a yellow R next to its HP bar). These monsters drop more Medals than normal.

So play Event Races, collect Boss Tickets, challenge the bosses, swim in medals.

War Medal lottery box

This is where you use the War Medals you can collect from the event Races. Every time you draw from a box, you get random items listed in the “current contents” screen. In this particular event there are 30 different possible rewards in one box, 150 items all in all, from runes and materials to Spirits and summon tickets.

When you think you’ve obtained all the rewards you want from a box (I recommend at least trying to get the 4* Spirit), you can move to the next box, essentially resetting the contents. You can’t return to the previous box once you’ve resetted it.

Ranking

The actual purpose of this event type. As said before, your points = overall collected War Medals times 10. Your rank determines what rewards you get after the event ends. You can get to the reward list from the event’s home screen. The rewards are sent to your present box automatically.

One Last Love

Hazuki and Satoru’s tragic story has spanned multiple quests. It now continues with their new Trance forms.

Warning for SPOILERS and long post

Beo starts us off with a fitting recap. After losing the Death Game in an attempt to save Satoru, Hazuki turned into a human weapon and erased all her memories.

Satoru is determined to get the old Hazuki back. He works tirelessly with machine Hazuki as his assistant. However, unable to cope with seeing a machine in Hazuki’s body, Satoru forcibly shuts her down (this is the story told in Satoru’s Trance quest).

But Beo comes to pay her a visit, offering her a powerful tarot card. He says Satoru will try to change fate in order to bring his Hazuki back, and will in all likelihood die in the process.

“I've got the perfect ability for you to protect Satoru!”

As a machine the only thing Hazuki remembers is her mission to protect Satoru. She will do everything in her power to achieve that, even if it means going against Satoru's wishes.

"I couldn't become the Hazuki he wanted"

We then see a memory of Satoru and Hazuki talking about the meaning of the forget-me-not flower. This is a reprint from the previous quests, 私を忘れないで (don't forget me) and 君を忘れない (I won't forget you).

Hazuki teases Satoru and tells him not to forget her

"As if I'd ever forget somebody like you"

The forget-me-not image was a poignant and touching motif in the previous quests, representing the sweet memories Satoru has with Hazuki (while solidly investing us players in their relationship).

However, the current Hazuki twists this image.

Hazuki and Satoru dearly love each other. Yet this is the exact motivation that will drive Satoru to kill himself.

Therefore, "this is a curse"

Hazuki unleashes the power of Beo's tarot card, the Hanged Man. She attempts to erase all the Hazuki in the past, the present and every parallel world so Satoru no longer has a reason to keep fighting.

(God she's so pretty but this is so sad)

Just as Satoru has his goal in his grasp it is torn away from him. Takuya and Yuki defeat Hazuki just in time but she suffers grave injuries (and will likely never wake up again). Additionally, because she didn't succeed, it's likely Satoru will just start his research all over again.

Beo comments on the irony. Two people who love each other sacrifice themselves for each other. But in the end neither were able to save the person most important to them.

Ranking Events are rather similar to the General Election, in that instead of clearing a mini-game for a chibi, it’s a polling where you can endlessly vote for one suitor in order to rank for his individual fan rankings - in addition to overall rankings - and attain a ranking figurine.

Trick or Treat! Will your night with him be bitter or sweet? Bitter sounds no fun, so let’s go with sweet. Spend a passionate Halloween night with the suitor of your choice with this new Halloween Ranking CE! 

Instead of the usual CE, this time IkeVamp changes things up with a Ranking event, split into two parts, with different suitors featured for each leg of the promotions. Each event has a different exclusive outfit and chibis, so don’t miss out!

This game did a very daring thing by including a central antagonist's backstory in a ranking event. Uchuu may be the ruler of all parallel worlds but she is also a child. Even if she is a destructive scientific experiment. It was interesting to see a different side to Taiyou, to know he did have a wife he cared about (I don't think she was Tsuki which throws an twist into their relationship). Amidst the chaos of destructive science and thirst for power, the contrasting theme of love stands out. Uchuu will only function through love, which is what Taiyou's wife is able to give. This is emphasised through the new soundtrack, "love will set us free". Though Uchuu eventually kills her, the ending where the three act like a family for the first time, seen in a retrospective diary, is incredibly bittersweet. The sudden focus on elements from the main story is probably an indication we'll be seeing more of Uchuu very soon.
