I’ve noticed an uptick in unsavory accounts in my activity box, so have a meme about it:

I don't remember seeing nasty tweets and depressing images before the Loki series ever existed. 🤔
We'll agree with this!!
Me: *writes a book about overcoming grief and working through generational trauma and abuse* also the main character is trans.
All my beta readers: @•@ trans???? Protagonist??? Story is about being trans? All the trangerder? Only personal identity?
Me: no...the book is about overcoming grief and generational trauma and abuse. The main character being trans has little to do with that. Also there's an interdimensional space clown.
All my beta readers: @●@ Every sentance go back to being trans? Every character allegory for trans idendity? Space clown allegory for main characters relationship with gender? Space clown nobinny, so must be allegory?
Me: No. The only times it is mentioned that the character is trans is in passing or by the abusive figures in his life. His transness is not an apparent factor in his experiencing abuse, or his character arc, OR the growth he experiences. It only marginally amplifies the ALREADY abusive relationship he has in a way that's comprehendable to the reader. And the clown is not an allegory for his relationship with femininity. She is an allegory for his suppression and neglect of himself and his emotional needs as well as a narrative FOIL that facilitates the growth and healing he has to do.
All my beta readers: @-@ but book about being trans
Me: THE BOOK IS NOT ABOUT BEING TRANS! NOT EVERY BOOK WITH A MIMARGINALIZED MAIN CHARACTER IS ABOUT BEING MARGINALIZED! SOMETIMES THEY ARE ABOUT COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AND EQUALLY COMPLEX THINGS! AND SOMETIMES PEOPLE JUST WANT A COMPLEX CHARACTER WHOSE PERSONALITY ISNT CENTERED AROUND THEIR STATUS AS A MINORITY.
It's not that complicated.
Me deleting the emotionally charged text I sent to my friend two hours ago which got no response since I’m no longer actively having a panic attack and don’t want to talk about it anymore
Kit Snicket
Kiiit! I love her, I really really love her. As a kid she was a bit of a rolemodel for me, because she smart and cool and fought spoke eye to eye to the villains. I cried when I read the scene of her death. Growing up I realized how depressed she was all along, culminating in the suicide theory. The theary is good, but I prefer to think of Kit as strong, as a warrior that tried to make things seem alright (for her sake and for others) for as long as she could.
She would be a good mother, but she would need to learn some things. It’s probably been a while since Kit last lived in a house in something that ressembled normalcy. She also has been alone for a long time. But having a routine, a place, her baby (and maybe even her man) would do wonders for her mental health. Ah, this reminds me that I would love to read a fix it for this family.
