DPxDC prompt where Danny has been going by Nightingale for awhile now, but he has yet to legally change his name. On paper he's still a Fenton, and after what his parents did to him he struggles to see it still attached to his name.

He's been living in Gotham for a while now. He's tried laying low, leaving his past behind-- still he can't help but get involved when shit hits the fan. He's on the bats' radar quicker than he'd have liked, and they deduce his identity quicker than he'd have expected.

When he's confronted by Batman, the man addresses him as Fenton. He lays down his past-- what he knows of it, at least-- and all of the weaponry and questionable science attached to that name.

Danny's not sure what he expected from his inevitable interrogation with the big bat, but a panic attack wasn't it.

the recent succumbing ask made me think - yeah well a catnapping wouldn’t happen there but what if it did elsewhere?

Yes Gideon may not be a straight up evil child - but he definitely is on the DARK gray side of morally grey

but like - he somehow gets the collar

and you gotta keep that kitty somewhere it wouldn’t escape right? Especially a kitty with about human intelligence

somewhere that may be a bit dark and enclosed to stop escapades (=a very quiet kitty!)

Thankfully for everyone by the time Gideon rolled around that wouldn't be an issue they'd be dealing with anymore. Succumbing was a side effect of Stan losing his identity and giving into his cat curse as he gave up being Stan in favor of being Nikola. The first year or so he'd slide back every time he became a cat, but over thirty years his sense of self would be solid enough that Ford wouldn't panic every time Stan stole something.

Unfortunately Stan still does have severe claustrophobia, and Gideon is a flavor of evil most children learn to suppress, so there very much is a scenario of Gideon catnapping Stan, ditching his collar and shoving him in a box with holes poked in while wearing a muzzle. Which wouldn't lead him to succumbing but would trigger a panic attack and dissociative episode when he wasn't let out right away.

And that does lead to a Ford freakout! As he can't find his brother, can't find his cat, the collar leads to a ditch, and Gideon gets way too smug about something while hinting things under his breath and acts like a creep.

Its not too hard to put things together, but somehow Ford still misses the obvious before the kids point it out for him. Then its Stan rescue, Stan cuddles, and Gideon gets arrested for animal cruelty.

Omg I had my first social anxiety panic attack in years today (and possibly second ever, as I rarely get social anxiety). I had signed up to take a few free classes at a martial arts school because I've wanted to learn martial arts ever since developing a crush on Raiden (as portrayed by Christopher Lambert in the 1995 fever dream that is the Mortal Kombat movie). I just thought it looked neat. And these days it feels like it might be good to be able to defend myself a bit? But when I showed up for the "adult" class this evening it turned out this particular place defined adult as "13 years +" and most of the class were kids and there was a gallery of seats where parents (aka people my age and often YOUNGER) were sitting watching and my brain went hahahahahahaha no. I physically COULD NOT MOVE, I was just absolutely petrified at the thought of taking my fat 5'10" self up in front of all those parents and towering over those kids who could probably all kick my ass. I excused myself as politely as I could and drove home and I've now spent the last two hours trying to come down off the resulting panic chemicals my brain decided to excrete in high doses. This post is probably pretty unhinged as a result but the worst part is I'm no closer to finding a way to learn martial arts as a 40-something with a gut and fulfilling my dream of impressing the god of lightning and protector of the realm of Earth.

Headcanon that kieran fakes sick a lot to get out of things. Only most of the time he gets so anxious and nervous over stuff he genuinely gets sick.

(He also has a habit of playing off anxiety/panic attacks as suddenly not feeling well.)

I got logged out my tumblr and almost had a panic account
