Queendom EP5&EP6&EP7
I really like the writing in this series. It’s done in such a subtle way that you really have to pay attention to what the characters are saying, and I find that both interesting and fun.
The main characters each have their own genuine personality, with unique quirks and mannerisms. The actresses portray them so well that you can immediately tell who’s who without any confusion.
I absolutely love the character of Print: she’s endearing, loving, and willing to do anything for Rey. What I find especially adorable is that even when they’re already a couple, she still remains shy and positively flustered around Rey.
At first glance, Rey might seem a bit colder, but in reality, she’s just shy and reserved and that’s perfectly fine. What I really appreciate is that, between the two, she’s often the most honest about her feelings and the one who takes the first step in important conversations. Like in the scene where they confess their feelings, or when she admits to being a little envious of Print’s beauty such a beautiful scene, by the way.
I also love how the series shows that both of them are on a journey of learning to love and accept themselves. I actually think that’s why the spell didn’t work: Print is blossoming as an actress and living a life without financial struggles in Rey’s body, while Rey is finding her creative freedom and breaking free from her parents’ pressure especially her mother’s while in Print’s body.
As for the second couple, Saifon and Wanmai, I feel like they deserve more development. It’s clear they want to get back together, but Wanmai keeps acting cold and hurtful, even though she also longs to reconcile. I’m curious to see how this will unfold, especially after watching the trailer for episode 8.
Finally, I wonder what the main conflict will be for all the couples. Honestly, I’m pretty sure it’s going to be… Rey’s mother!
