raondxr Ah, well- I’m not necessarily like the Nightwatcher. From what I’ve heard she has access to far more power than me. But I’d say that’s basically what happened. But I commited a mistake and now, instead of recovering your memories up to one point, you lost them from said point after. But I’m working on a way to revert this.

brightlordkholin I apologize if you tried to contact me recently. I’m sure you’ve heard what happened at Adolin’s duel.

raondxr I did, sir. It’s perfectly understandable that you had your focus on that. If there is anything I can do to be of assistance, know that me and Arelon stand with the Kholins.

raondxr Where are you from, though? You do have quite the Aonic name, there! Teod, maybe? Oh, yes! I’m taking less classes this semester to keep more time with attention on Elantris but I managed to wiggle my way back to the University!

raondxr I keep contact with my friend, Karata, with our Seons, so she presents me with what’s been going on and I guide her and the men I chose to serve as a long-distance ruling system?? On what to do. Although I do plan on going back every two weeks to check on everything personally! It’s a frail system, but I really can’t care for Arelon with a flawed and lacking knowledge myself.

raondxr I’ve never heard of Yolen!! Is it in Sel? If it’s not your Aonic-sounding name was possibly a coincidence and I’m sorry for making such an assumption!

lower-than-you yolen is… rather far away i haven’t been there for quite some time myself, honestly i am. i am very glad though. that arelon at least seems to be doing okay, under your rule. (and educating yourself is sure to help! as long as things remain stable enough that that is possible)

raondxr I see…well, I guess changes come always for the best, even if we don’t see it for a while!

lower-than-you …that is not quite true. i believe in good changes, certainly, but some changes… are not so good

raondxr They may not seem so immediately, but all changes are important. Sometimes to become a good memory, sometimes to teach you a lesson, and sometimes to remind you of how strong you are. And, despite all the pain that can come, these end up coming for the best in the most unexpected ways.

lower-than-you but say, the change of an invading army prevailing and killing a people? that sort of change is not good.

raondxr It’s certainly a horrible thing that we all would want to avoid at all costs, but even so, in the future the memory of this invasion can spark a revolution that will turn things around for these people. Or it will open the eyes of the future generations on what their ancestors did, and how it was wrong, and how they can undo this damage by giving the ones who suffer with this a voice and spread these lessons that, although coming from pain and suffering, are still good lessons. This is the kind of thing that takes a good time, but all change is good on the long run.

raondxr Sometimes it takes longer for the good to show itself, but it will come.

lower-than-you that is an argument that there is always good in change, but i would say that there are changes where that good does not outweigh the bad.

raondxr Well, you do have a great point. I may have worded myself poorly as well. But all change has the potential to bring good, and coming back to the comment that initiated this discussion, I believe this potential was fulfilled by you leaving Yolen. At least I assume so from how professor Aona talks about you.

lower-than-you …i am not so sure of that i was with her before leaving, so… that is not what brought us together

raondxr But you two are happy now, right?

lower-than-you …perhaps but. had … what made us leave… not have occurred… we would likely have been happier however you are a good point as to why there were good things to come of that

raondxr I have to say I’m a little flattered myself to hear that, hahah! But see, good can come from change, even if it isn’t in the ways you expect or in the amount you immediately wish

Um, can we talk a little bit, Kelsier? There’s a few issues I need your help on (I also probably need Doxson’s help but I never talked to him and I have no idea how to talk to him without sounding like an idiot)

Well, the help relies mostly on advise, so I guess it should be fine. I’ve been trying to keep Arelon stable until Elantris can efficiently produce food to supply the regions without big plantations, but so far my attempts haven’t been very fruitful as 60% of the food shipments we’ve been sending to the south of the country are being stolen.

My men still haven’t discovered who’s responsible, but at this point the safest to assume is that’s inevitable. Do you have any idea what kind of person would steal this amount of food and grains?

I don’t believe that would be the kind of theft that comes from necessity, as I already have implemented laws that guarantee equal distribution of food for all classes, and only what’s above the necessary or particularly luxurious has to be personally bought

Aside from the entire Shu-Dereth institution? A few I’ve actually considered it could be sabotage, but at first I brushed it off as paranoia. Although, the more we talk about it the more possible it seems
