70 degrees here in Rapid City today. My son turned 13 today, and it had me thinking of my roots in fly fishing. I went back to a stretch of #rapidcreek where I fished as a young man. Listen I'm a mans man, and I try to keep a rational mindset, but the litter in the creek broke my heart. Garbage everywhere. I couldn't even enjoy my fishing. I filled 4 emergency garbage bags I keep in my truck and I didn't even knock a dent in the destruction. These little gems deserve better. They deserve a chance at an ecosystem in balance. We want our kids to drink clean water, and swim in safe swimming holes don't we? Don't the fish, animals, and birds deserve the same? Having fished all over the U.S. I can promise you millions of people would love to have a blue ribbon stream running through their city! We have one... And it's full of people's refuse! I don't see anyone doing anything to fix this. How can people claim they're ethical sportsmen and allow this? Completely unacceptable to me!!! The status quo isn't working!
