There are a lot of things to be happy about today. It’s my daddyo’s birthday, and we got to talk for a whole hour!! 🎂Happy Birthday, Dad!! I survived my first full week of teaching! My sister in Colorado is safe from the fires and starting a new school. But mostly, Hurricane Laura ravaged Louisiana, but the flooding isn’t as bad as expected, and my family and friends came out mostly unscathed. I’m so so grateful. Now comes the tough part, though, as 100% of Rapides Parish is without electricity (including the water wells), and it could take a week to get it back. My heart is with everyone in Louisiana, rebuilding their homes and facing the next week of a Louisiana August without electricity and water.
