Sterek Rapunzel AU: Stiles is a young man with long hair who lives as a servant to the wicked witch, Jennifer, who resides in an magically secluded manor in the woods. He believes that Jennifer saved him when he was abandoned as a baby. He spends his time painting pictures of places he dreams of going when he is free one day.
One day, Stiles finds a secret passage to the basement where he finds a silver hairbrush engraved with a message and a tunnel underneath the floor. He follows it, leading to the small kingdom outside. Outside the castle Stiles saves a young girl, Cora, from a pit trap with the help of her older brother. The brother tells Stiles the trap was set by King Stilinski, the ruler of an opposing kingdom who has an ongoing feud with Derek’s father, King Hale.
But before Stiles can learn the young man’s name, Stiles hurries back home before Jennifer can notice he’s missing. However, Jennifer’s pet tells her that Stiles snuck out to meet a man. Jennifer questions Stiles and he tells her that he doesn’t know the man’s name. Jennifer destroys Stiles’ paintings and transforms his room into a high, inescapable tower.
As Stiles sleeps, the hairbrush he found magically transforms into a paintbrush. The next morning, when Stiles uses the brush, a mural of the kingdom magically appears on the wall—without paint or water. He reaches out to touch it and discovers it’s a portal. He steps through and finds the young man again, though she insists that he never tell Stiles his name for fear of what Jennifer would do if she knew. The young man gives him an invitation to the masquerade ball that night.
Promising to meet him again, Stiles paints a portal back to the tower and returns. Back at the tower, he uses the paintbrush to paint herself a beautiful costume. Unfortunately, Jennifer’s pet swipes Stiles’ invitation and takes it to her. Jennifer cuts off Stiles’ hair, shatters the paintbrush, and destroys the portal to the kingdom. When Stiles once again cannot give the young man’s name, Jennifer then puts a spell on the tower to never release its lying prisoner.
With the help of his friends, Stiles manages to escape the tower as he never lied about not knowing the man’s name. He makes his way to the castle. At the ball, Prince Derek is lured outside and attacked by a disguised Jennifer wearing Stiles’ hair, while at the same moment, King Stilinski infiltrates the castle, intending to end the feud by force.
King Stilinski accuses King Hale of kidnapping his son many years ago—the source of the feud; Jennifer reveals that she was the one who took Stilinski’s son, Stiles, wanting the kingdoms to destroy each other.
Stiles arrives and Stilinski recognises him as his son. Stiles tricks Jennifer into running into his painting of the tower where she becomes permanently imprisoned for her lies.
Stiles is reunited with his parents and is finally properly introduced to Derek. The feud between the kingdoms ends and when Stiles and Derek marry, the two kingdoms are united and Stiles’ dreams of freedom come true.
