I don't get the "starter home" judgement. People always ask me do I see myself in my home for a long time. Like, yes, that's why I bought it!?
That mentality’s gotta be a hold-over from when a starter house was actually a small cheap property that would be easy to move on from. But with how things have gotten out of hand with the market and wages ect, I don’t know if we could fairly say there is such a thing now?
At this point I don’t want a lot of space, just that i wouldn’t have to rent and to have a yard and a separate laundry room lmao. Of course when I mention I want a house 90% of the comments I receive are “oh you just THINK that, it’s so much different with upkeep and maintenance and blah blah blah-“ and yeah I know, but that’s part of the reason I want my own space without other people living right on top of me. And also so I can have hardwood floors again, I hate carpet so much.
