He needs a minute to get himself together. There are people watching and such blatant concern is only going to hurt them. Charis closes his eyes and counts down, calm when he opens them again, his mouth pressed into a thin line. He'll talk to Rasa about this later, when they don't have to worry about others watching.

Rasa could see his afternoon already. Reckless. He'd get a scolding from both of them when he gets home.
He's sure he deserved it. He had underestimated the enemy and believed that he could take the lot of them on--- never again. Surprises could happen. Traps lay in wait.
Now he's paying for it. With a wound on his side and dizzying blood loss. But most of all with the expression on Charis' face.
There really are stages to facing death in the life of a Shinobi, aren't there? As a child, he had been afraid for himself. For the nothingness that awaited all of them. But now--
He straightened up. Unable to openly hold Charis' hand-- small bits of weaknesses frowned upon by their culture.
