There Is No "Them" - The Uncultured Project - Project For Awesome
Watch at the link, better quality!
If you want to know why nerdfighteria is important to me, this is why. Nerdfighting is not just the phenomena of a lot of people watching the same videos and using the same terminology and supporting the same ideals of intelligence and critical thinking and standing up for what's unpopular. It's about action. It's the manifestation of the idea that a lot of people can help do what a few people cannot, not subconsciously from peer pressure or popularity, but by consciously choosing to support what they believe in. It's about showing the world that helping is easy, that ideas and words are powerful. Sometimes I think it's about how doing things with heart is more important than doing them with skill or (conventional measures of) success, because it leads to bigger and better things (the Uncultured Project is _amazing_). That's something I need to learn for myself, and that's why being a NIT* is important to me, my own lack of motivation be damned.
*NIT = nerdfighter in training. B2.0, July 2, 2007. Yes, I'm watching the entire vlogbrothers channel in order, and yes, I came across the original Uncultured Project "There is no 'Them'" video literally just as I found this amazing video 4 years afterward.
