I'm making a Next Gen. Group of OCs, and I want one of the major characters to be a son of Sasuke (should he live in the canon). I don't really feel like Sasuke goes 'well' with anyone though, and I was debating just having it where he has a sort of nonromantic 'mate' to redevelop the Uchiha with. Would that be too OOC or Marysueish of the children? Also, I'm worried about canon pairings, since the main focus is Naruto's children, but I'm not sure who to choose as the mother. What should I do?

As far as Sasuke’s concerned he’s pretty unpairable to be honest. I like your idea of getting around this by having sort of a “convient” partner and I don’t think this concept would make the kids automatically Sues. I’m not exactly the best a pairings especially when we’re talking about Sasuke but I’ll have a go. Just remember, Sasuke isn’t exactly the romantic type. In fact romance is at the bottom of his priorities, just look at how he treated Sakura and Ino even before he left Konoha.

I think anyone with Sasuke would have to be powerful as long as they’re not more powerful than him: just enough power so he doesn’t think of them as pathetic and actually thinks they’re somewhat worthy of his time would be ideal. Also if he wanted to redevelop the Uchiha he would likely chose someone worthy and powerful enough to fit that role so he needs to at least acknowledge their abilities as useful. I would try and stay away from having abilities that are similar to his own and more on something completely different that Sasuke lacks such as Medical Ninjutsu for example.

This is mainly why I would suggest someone like Karin who he knows quite well and who he acknowledges as strong in a different way to him. She’s also pretty gutsy and not too submissive whilst still giving him the freedom to do what he wants (even though she can be a bit stalkerish) and has a coveted bloodline.To me it just seems like the most logical and easiest solution.

However, it could be possible to create a OC to pair with him post-gen but it would be very tricky and you would have to make sure you do it right and keep Sasuke in character all the time. Creating an OC would be a pretty difficult task so I wouldn’t recommend it, especially as the pairing isn’t your main focus.

When it comes to Naruto there’s the obvious pairings (Hinata and Sakura). I don’t particularly ship either and personally prefer NaruHina although I’m sure many people would strongly disagree and say NaruSaku is the way to go. Naruto is very different with both of them so it really depends on what type of relationship you would want, just make sure with whomever you chose you portray the relationship and the characters accurately. Mostly I wouldn’t worry about it! Its all just personal preference as both have the potential to become canon. Just have fun with it and do what you want.
