Not the battle for Rat King starting already!
we know rats are used in experiments bcus theyre similar enough to humans. but my question is like. How are they Similar Enough to ppl
im sure this is something i'll end up googling but its so funny to imagine a scientist looking at a rat like
Ahhhh, I’m so happy!! So of the three rats, Toya is still the most skittish and she doesn’t think much of us humans. We’ve been able to start taking her out for socializing time with the other two, by having her (and Indy) climb into a pumpkin hide, and using that to transport them. Plus side, it doubles as a safe spot & an indicator of “okay, done with Out Time” during this time. Toya clearly used it as that this last time they came out - she was starting to look a little more anxious in her movements, we offered the pumpkin & she went “ah, yes please!!” and climbed straight in so we could go back to cage.
So tonight, partner had to clean the cage out. This has been a bit of a process because Toya has one hammock in particular that is Her Hammock & she will bite if you try to get her out of it (unless you’re my boyfriend). But tonight!! Tonight my partner offered up the pumpkin & was able to use it to transport the girls all to the spare cage where they foraged for coconut chips in loose bedding, while he cleaned the cage, including the hammocks!! And they happily climbed back in afterwards for the quick ride back to the cage!
Pumpkinvator (pumpkin elevator) is much better and much less scary than hands & is a Success!
