This skins good! I like the concept and everything, but I’m just not a huge Christmas skin guy.

(also, for a guy who shouts LEGENDARY constantly you’d think he would have a skin that is a legendary and ISNT limited edition??)

I wish they went a little heavier into the techy, cyborg-esc side of things, the regular pants and shoes are a little disappointing. However. I am a huge fan of a good, evil clone. I really do like this skin.

Also. His clearly inhanced uhh. “Asset” we will just say.

Okay here goes: NOTEBOOKS!

TKmax: 6/10, it has some goodies but they are way too sporadic with what they sell in their special aisle and usually is quite pricey but they have some good designs!

My favourite store (won’t say the name~): 10/10 has incredible sizes (a4, my favourite) and for very cheap! Only £2/£3 for one.

WHSmith - 0/10. Fucking shit. I would destroy it if I could. Cheap materials, large spaces between lines, basic ass covers, and more expensive than snacks, if you can’t tell I have PERSONAL BEEF with this one.

That random store with the red name nexto it: 2/10. Not much better but I guess they have good quality so it’s worth it.

Poundland: 8/10. Quite good and usually my go-to if I’m a bit desperate as they don’t really have my preferance in size/style and at times they don’t even restock for ages! Still, very nice. Only a couple of pounds. Can also buy sketchbooks there for it.

Temporary markets/festivals: 5/10 lots of pretty and handmade things there but they rarely sell notebooks so that’s kinda a bummer.

Wilko: 7/10, bit iffy with this one but the price is very good for the amount of pages! But you wouldn’t freaking believe this but my local one SHUT DOWN and I’m heart broken over it cuz it was so lovely.

Thrift stores and/or card/birthday supply stores: 2/10. Would barely even go here if utterly desperate. Their prices are ludicrous and I get that it’s helping the business and what not and they’re custom made but what the fuckimg shit, it barely is the size of my palm and you want TEN BUCKS for it???? I only put it so high because the covers are so damn adorable and I couldn’t help but get a cute doggy one if you want I can post a picture of it.

School fairs and/or stealing/asking kindly from schools or academies: 5/10 bit risky but sometimes you can get one very nice and for free. Bit small I may add but if you don’t write a lot it’s a good option.

Asda: 9/10 Very nice I must add. Good, cheap, and I love looking there. hobby crafts: 2/10 absolute shit it’s meant to be for art supplies but AUGH it’s awful

staples: 4/10 pricey but I wanted that classical American high school book

Costco: 3/10 Basically the same pricing as anywhere else just in bulk???

museum/art gallery/zoo: 1/10 what the fuck man, but sometimes can be pretty🙃

Day one:

Alright, starting off with the number 1, quite a good number, solid base, the basic character in every game with average stats in everything. Nice and normal, mathematics agrees with it quite a bit. Very easy to understand, a fine number. I'd say one of the top numbers, nice and round, no real complaints, maybe a little plain but it's the OG so I can't really say anything besides that. Overall, good number, starting off strong. Honourable mention, square root of one.

Pain Remains (2022) — Lorna Shore

Welcome Back, O' Sleeping Dreamer — 7/10

The first 1.5 minutes is pure atmosphere. The riff has only four notes, but it's very memorable and very effective. Definitely one of the heaviest songs they've done. Only thing I didn't like was the glitchy voice part because it felt out of place.

Into the Earth — 6/10

Makes you feel like you're tumbling into an abyss non-stop. My ears are aching and it's only the second song. Good Lord. I think it should have ended before the breakdown, though, since it doesn't really make sense to to slow down the song.

Sun//Eater — 10/10

This is my favourite song on the entire album. The intro makes you feel like you're gliding past heaven, then the drums hit you hard, and then you hear Will's "WHAT IS LIFE...? BUT A FEVERED DREAM.......!" Chorus is absolute fire.

Cursed to Die — 8/10

After the high of Sun//Eater, this one kind of falls flat until the end of the 2nd minute when it brings out those grand, dare I say almost power metal chords. From then on, it's able to hold its own against Sun//Eater.

Soulless Existence — 9/10

While Lorna Shore is a great band, I find that quite a few of their songs sound too much alike. This was the breath of fresh air I was hoping for. They fucking NAILED it. Proof that a slower song can still be a banger.

Apotheosis — 5/10

Forgettable song, repetitive breakdown. Sorry to all Apotheosis enjoyers this one just didn't do it for me.

Wrath — 7/10

Love the rhythm of this one. Definitely fills me with wrath. 👹 However, I wish they would cut back a little on the breakdowns to allow each individual song to stand out more.

Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames — 10/10

This is where the real party starts. We need to talk about that SICK. AS. FUCK. chorus. We need to talk about the way the whole song builds up to the part where Will's whispers turn to screams. Mind BLOWN. 🙉

Pain Remains II: After All I've Done, I'll Disappear — 8/10

Builds on Pain Remains I. At first, I found it a bit strange how both songs end abruptly in the middle of a note, but I later realised it was intentional and so cleverly done. The lack of closure makes so much sense since it's about death and losing a loved one.

Pain Remains III: In a Sea of Fire — 9/10

"This is my epilogue, my soliloquy / Take this broken melody straight to the grave / Dancing like flames / After all that I've done / I'll salt the earth and disappear / In a sea of fire" This is some suicide letter material bro. The deep breath Will takes before the final chorus... CHILLS. 🥶

IN CONCLUSION — Apart from ...And I Return to Nothingness, I haven't listened to another full-length Lorna Shore album yet, so I won't be making comparisons to their past work. Ermm that's it shoutout to Adam De Micco he's fine as hell and this is one solid album. 7.9/10
