Raya being a flirtatious little shit at Officer Namaari, Pt. 2! (Here’s Pt. 1)

Sisu walks up to Raya getting her things together. “Wanna tell me why ‘excuses to be at a police station’ is on our PC search history?”

Raya freezes. “Uhhh I mean I think the answer is obvious…?”

Sisu face palms. “Raya, you cannot be serious.”

Raya turns to her. “Sisu, this is the woman of my dreams—”

“You spoke to her for maybe five minutes!”

“That’s long enough. I just want to try to actually ask her out okay? Is that so wrong?”

“No but it’s a little stalker-ish.”

Raya glares at her. “She’s a police officer. Police officers work at the police station. That is just common information—”

Sisu sighs. “Okay fine, well, if you’re going I wanna go too.” 

Raya pumps her fist. “Sweet. I needed a get-away driver anyway.”

Sisu “UM—”

Sisu lets her head fall onto the steering wheel. “I can’t believe I’m doing this.”

Raya pops a mint into her mouth. “No ditching me now!”

“Would you stop with the mints! You’re not gonna try to kiss her, are you??”

Raya shoots her a look. “Of course not! Unless…”

“Raya!”

“I’m kidding!! But I’ll hopefully be speaking to her and I don’t want bad breath.”

“That’s fair I guess. What’s your plan?

Raya rubs her hands together. “Okay. I have no clue when she works or if she’s even here right now, however, I need to draft a note that I can leave for her just in case.”

Sisu sighs. “Okay, well, do you have the note?”

“No not yet.”

“Raya, we’re in the parking lot of the police station!”

“I know, I know! I’ll write it quick but you gotta help me!”

“Fine, what do you have so far?

Raya starts writing. “‘Hey.. sexy…’”

“No.”

Raya looks at her. “What?? Why not??”

“Raya. You’re coming off as hella creepy.”

“Ok ok fine.” She pinches her lips together for a moment to think. “‘Hello.. beautiful..’”

“No.”

“Sisu!”

“Just give me that.” She snatches the pen and paper.

Raya huffs and slumps back into her chair.

“‘Dear Officer N’.. what did she say her name was again?”

“Namaari.”

“How do you spell it?”

“Uhhh I don’t know??”

“Ok I’m going with N-a-m-a-a-r-i.”

“Two a’s—?”

“Yes, shut up. Okay: ‘Dear Officer Namaari, I realize that I was rather forward to you the other day when you pulled me over…’”

“Hey!”

Sisu glares at her. “Are you gonna tell me I’m wrong…?”

Raya slumps again. “No.”

“Anyway, ‘I just wanted to thank you for not giving me a ticket, and I know this is a long shot but I am actually a decent human being, and I was wondering if you’d like to go out to eat sometime? If so, here’s my number: (XXX) XXX-XXXX. Sincerely, Raya Hart.’”

Raya huffs. “That was so formal I almost fell asleep.”

“Raya, you have to seem sincere if you want any chance of going out with her!”

“Yeah, yeah… I guess you’re right. Okay, let’s go in.”

“Girl, I am not going in, you’re going in.”

“Oh wow just leave me??”

“First off, you said I was the get-away driver, second, she’s your girlfriend!”

“Ok ok fine I’m going!”

“Good luck!

Raya takes a deep breath before walking confidently into the police station.

“Hello, how can I help you?” The man at the front desk offers.

“Hi! Actually, I was wondering if Officer Namaari is here today?”

The man’s eyebrows bob just slightly. “She is working today, but I believe she’s out on patrol.”

Raya rests her elbows on the counter. “Oh, okay. Do you think you could give this to her?” She holds out the note.

He takes it. “Of course! I’ll see that she gets it.”

She winks. “Thanks.”

“Hey Dennis, would you mind tak—”

Raya looks up at the officer striding into the room and freezes. The two look at each other for a moment, then Raya waves a little awkwardly at the women she had been hoping to see.

Namaari’s jaw tenses. “What are you doing here?” She turns to the man at the desk. “What is she doing here?”

“Um, I don’t…” Dennis begins.

Raya decides to help him out, her eyes never leaving Namaari. “I actually came to see you.”

Namaari sighs. “Ms. Hart—”

Raya lights up. “You remembered!”

Namaari looks at the ceiling. “How could I forget…”

“That’s sweet,” Raya says teasingly.

Dennis pushes his chair back. “Wait, is this that girl you were talking about, Fang?”

Namaari shoots him a death-glare.

Raya gives her a shit-eating grin. “Oh you were talking about me, were you…?”

Namaari walks up to the front desk. “Yes, Hart. You’re a rather unusual character to pull over.”

Raya switches to just leaning against one elbow. “I’ll take that as a compliment, dep la.”

Raya registers a snicker from Dennis, and barely contains her happiness at the flush she notices forming at the tips of Officer Namaari’s ears and neck.

“That means beautiful,” Dennis whispers at Namaari.

“I know what it means, Dennis.”

Raya picks up the note and steps into Namaari’s personal space. She watches the officer stiffen and scowl at her, but she does’t back down.

Raya knows she needs to say something before Namaari inevitably objects, “Actually, I just wanted to give you this.”

Raya reaches up and lifts the flap on Namaari’s breast pocket, which she noticed earlier was conveniently unbuttoned, and slips the note into it, careful not to touch her. She can’t help but smirk at Namaari who had clearly stopped breathing a while ago, and the way her jaw went slack at how brazen Raya is behaving.

“I hope to see you soon, Namaari,” Raya practically purrs after allowing her eyes to briefly wander over her features. Then she winks at her, and walks out without a backward glance.

“Do I need to go get you an AED, Chief?”

Namaari blinks and then frowns at Dennis.

He chuckles. “Well, what’s it say?”

Namaari pulls out the note and scans the contents with a quirking brow and amused huff. “She wants to go out to dinner.”

“I think she wants to eat a lot more than just dinner, personally—”

“Dennis, shut up!” Namaari quickly replaces the paper and walks out of the room.

“Namaari, you’ve gotta do it!” Dennis is following her.

“I don’t have to do anything.”

“Come on! You can’t turn that down! what’s the worst that could happen? She makes you blush again? Hahahah that was hilarious—”

Namaari stops and turns. Dennis almost runs into her. 

She goes to speak but he shrugs. “Look, just saying. Might be fun.”

“…I’ll think about it.”

Namaari shakes her head at Dennis’s laughter behind her as she walks away. “I knew you’d loosen up one of these days!”

*Once a* Villain

An AU where Namaari and Raya are parents.

Timeline: Late twenties or Early thirties

"Gia, Sinh! Bedtime," Raya exclaimed as she made up Gia's bed. The older of her two children.

Gia is six year old who closely resembles her Mama, Namaari. Which makes no biological sense as she was adopted from the heart district. Even so, her tiny face displays a broad nose and plump lips missing their cupid's bow; her skin the same pigments as her Mama. The only resemblance to her Mommy Raya is her long wavy brown hair. 

Sinh is their four-year-old. They resemble Raya almost exactly that many still believe Raya carried them to term. When in reality, they adopted them from the Fang district. The only resemblance to Namaari is their undercut, which wraps around their whole head, leaving some hair on top; their favorite way to style it is a top bun.

With a loud squeak, Gia ran into the room, jumping onto her bed; no sooner had Raya finished adjusting the sheets.

Namaari entered shortly after, making helicopter noises as Sinh sat on her shoulders; their arms extended outward as they were flying.

"Storytime," Gia exclaimed as she crawled under her sheets.

Raya nodded as she settled herself at the edge of the bed. Namaari taking a seat right beside her. 

Sinh now clinging to Maari's chest as if they were a koala. "How about the story of the princesses Nam and Ray?" Namaari questioned with a snicker; she knew this was their favorite bedtime story.

Raya only grinning as she shook her head to the side; they've been telling this story to their children for years, adding more information as they grew; and yet their children still had no idea they were the princesses of the tales. But how could they? To them, their parent's names were Mama and Mommy. 

Both the children nodded excitedly before Sinh buried themselves back into the crotch of Namaari's neck, Maari rubbing circles onto his back. "Once upon a time, the districts we know now as Fang, Heart, Spine, Talon, and Tail were separate lands," Raya spoke in a whimsical voice, "Lands that very much disliked each other, even so, one a day. The brave chief of the Heart asked all the other lands to come together for dinner. Hoping it could be the start of unity between the lands."

"He was wrong," Sinh sighed into his Mama's chest. 

"SHHHHH." Gia whisper-yelled as she pulled the sheets high above her torso, her eyes beaming in excitement.

"That day, all the lands come together only to argue with one another. Even so, the two princesses, Nam and Ray, connected so much that Nam gifted Raya---RAY her favorite necklace" Namaari shuttered, realizing she missed up, Raya elbowing her and snickering. Yet as Namaari glanced over at their children, they lucky hadn't caught her mix-up, so she continued. "Ray was so touched by this that she decided to trust Nam..."

Raya intertwined her fingers with Namaari's, knowing that this is always the most challenging part of the story for her. "Because Ray believed Nam was her friend, she trusted her with Heart's most sacred possession."

"THE DRAGON GEM," Gia yelped as she grasped onto the necklace around her neck. The same sisu necklace Namaari once gave Raya now sits around the neck of their daughter.

With Raya's free hand, she leaned over to her daughter, blooping her nose, "Correct my evening mist" Gia only giggled simultaneously Namaari squeezed her fingers, indicating she should continue. "So Ray took Nam to a hidden location that stored the dragon gem, only for Nam to betray her; setting off a firework that led everyone to the secret location...This betrayal making Ray so anger with Nam; that she made her the villain of her life." Raya looked back at her wife, who was already looking at her, the guilt still prominent years after she corrected her mistake.

Namaari cleared her throat, pushing away her feelings so that the kids couldn't pick up on them. "After the rest of the lands found the dragon gem, all their fighting led to the breaking of it; releasing the--"

"Druune," Sinh whimpered as they finally pulled away from their Mama's chest. Namaari nodding yes.

"The only thing powerful enough to stop the druune was the gem, so each land took a broken piece, running towards the water; a repeller of the druune," Sinh yawned as they laid their-self face down across both their mother's laps. Raya running her fingers through their hair while Namaari continued to rub circles onto their back. "After Nam's betrayal, everyone from Heart, besides Ray, was turned to stone--Sealing the Fang sector as the villains; most specifically Nam."

"Even after Nam betrayed Raya several times, Ray still gave Nam a final chance to make everything right by giving her what she once tried to steal...the dragon gem even if that action turned her to stone," Raya finished before yawning. 

Raya was now laying beside Gia, running her fingers through her hair, while Namaari had left minutes ago to put Sinh to bed as they had fallen asleep.

"And something happened within Nam when she saw Ray turn to stone. She no longer wanted to be a villain--She never did!! Nam just wanted to do what she believed was best--" Ray closed her eyes, letting herself relax into the mattress, her head leaning against her daughters. 

"Mama realized she loved you...so she rebuilt the gem...hoping to fix what she broke," Gia whispered as the story finally clicked in her mind. Raya's eyes opening rapidly from the shock of her daughter's intuitive mind. Quickly looking over at her, while Gia was already staring at her with a smile. "Mama said, Raya."

"My mistake," Namaari admitted; she had been standing at the door leaning against its framing just listening to the end of the story. "Should have known nothing gets past you!" She exclaimed, smiling widely, as she wiggled her fingers, running towards the bed.

"OHH NO, YOU DON'T," Raya squealed as she covered her ribcage with her arms, trying to avoid Namaari's hands.

Once reaching the bed, Namaari began tickling the most important females in her life. The room full of giggles, grunts, chuckling, Raya's swearing, and overall joy.

And to Gia, her Mama will never be a villain, just the person who makes her laugh so hard she pees herself a little.

Avatar Raya AU

In this AU every section of Kumandra is a different element nation. Heart is southern water tribe, Fang is Fire nation, Spine is northern water tribe, Talon is constituted by various air temples (but there's airbenders everywhere) and Tail is Earth nation.

Fang nation attacks by order of a chieftain previous to Virana. Unfortunately Virana continues with the invasion, feelong the need to continue what her ancestors started.

Chief Benja tries his best to hide Raya, the avatar, from the eyes of the world until she's old enough.

Almost all of the airbenders have disappeared in search for the next avatar, but most believe they have already reincarnated.

Raya has to escape Heart before the fire troops find her, so she poses as an earthbender and travels trough Kumandra to master all four elements.

She meets Boun in talon, one of the very last airbenders, and learns airbending from him.

Together they travel to Tail where they find an earthbender baby. At first Raya is reluctant but there's not much others willing to teach her. Noi teaches Raya earthbending.

When they arrive at Spine, supposedly a safe space for the avatar, the fortressed is attacked by a Fang army lead by the ruthless general Atitaya (Zhao in this AU) and Raya goes into avatar state for the first time to defend Spine. Most troops are down except for one, where the fire princess, Namaari, was.

Namaari makes it her mission to find the Avatar to avenge the soldiers lost during the invasion to spine.

That also makes it public that the new avatar is among others, which makes it harder for the gang. Tong joins in to help Raya master Northern techniques of waterbending.

They spend a good while trying to find someone who will teach Raya firebending, so that they can stop Fang in their ruthless invasion.

But who?

Cue Namaari being kicked out of Fang's army for questioning the decision to kill innocent people.

Once again, she's out to find the Avatar to restore her honor, except this time, she doesn't plan to capture Raya, but join her.

"Hello, Namaari here"

At first they don't trust her, but Noi does. The baby lets Namaari carry her and plays with her. Skeptical, but trusting Noi, the rest accept Namaari into the gang.

Namaari's firebending isn't as strong now that it isn't fueled by rage, which stumps Raya's learning.

They go on a journey to Fang, a secret ruin where the first firebenders were born. There they meet the last trwo dragons, the original firebenders, Pengudatu and Sisudatu.

They learn the dancing dragon move and Raya masters firebending.

Sisu also teaches Raya energy bending (?) in her search to end the war in a pacific way.

Idk Virana isn't a terrible mother in this AU so why would Raya want to kill her.

Anyway there's this epic battle and Raya takes Virana's bending away, declaring the end of the war.

Also Raya and Namaari kiss.

The end.
