I’m a real big s3 fan but I haven’t seen s1 in quite a while(but I’ve seen it a few times before) . And I was rewatching it today, ………..DUDE it’s a literal different show!!! You know what Courtney said after eva’s elimination? Quote:” see, I told u , u can’t act like a total raging psychopath and then expect people to forgive you! No matter how tough and strong and fast you are. She’s never gonna have a career if she doesn’t get her act together” like WHAT💀💀💀💀💀💀 and don’t get me wrong, she didn’t say it in her know it all bossy voice, it was genuine and very kind(? If you know what I mean)
I know I posted a few posts here saying that “wow Courtney’s biography says she’s respectful and stuff they just forgot about that lol” but her character was actually quite kept. Although she did get a bit more ambitious(or aggressive? But not as she got in s3) after losing, her respect and kindness was still there in the following episodes, just with a bit more ambition? I dunno, so when did they assassinate her character? Or was it a slow progression…..killing the original Courtney bit by bit and slowly morphing her into the, erm, “control freak miss perfect paranoid Courtney” that we know now?
But honestly, I kinda can’t believe how “chill” island is, like man, it is so laidback compared to the other seasons, (apart from the last few episodes which were absolutely gross and kind of traumatized my childhood and that’s why I didn’t really dare watch island💀💀💀) I also think that’s kind of, how total drama worked itself into a corner, because as the show progressed (both in universe and outside) the stakes just got higher and the funds were huger and characters like Trent who were just made for a chill summer camp didn’t really need to go to an airplane ride for a million( I know they did Trent dirty in s2 but I think retiring him( along with Beth and the other characters) was a smart choice, Alejandro was like a new-improved Justin, since Justin wasn’t really made for something as intense as world tour) and that kinda peaked for me, after world tour, they still wanted to push the show even higher, further, intense-er, but they did that with mutant waste and that was erm, a bit overkill (including the seasons after that)
But I dunno about the reboot season, is it along the same chill vibes as island? Or is it intense like revenge of the island?
