18, 19, and 20 for the fat dragon asks!
18. Share your favorite Snapper!
I thought this was gonna be really hard to pick but actually you know what it's Reuben I'm feeling Reuben today! she rocks c:
19. Share your favorite Everlux!
hmmm..I'll go with Kiaeria! with a lovely fat dragon adopt by @tormentlime c: She is THE moss ball. doing it before the moss tert even existed B) (for real though i hope everlux get the moss tert too..that'd be fun!)
20. Is there a dragon breed you typically headcanon as fatter than the official art? Share an example of that breed from your lair!
I figure most people will be thinking about the ice breeds for this question and they are 100% right (and ngl this question may have been a roundabout way for me to ask to see tundras, though i also just hoped to get people thinking in general haha) but i gotta be different and be a Fat Banescale Truther too!
I really don't need any explanation other than 'i just think they're neat!' but going back to 2019, let's see... Fat characters have always been an important part of my lair (shoutout to Moraine and Keiji! i noticed their weights were way higher than my other tundras and was like...oooh ok yes let's work with that) but it was around this time I really decided I should place more emphasis on fat characters since so few other people do. and Gaolers, the first ancients released and...I wasn't super enthused. Their terts were cool but not being able to dress them was such a weird change, and design-wise their lack of real bulk was kind of disappointing, especially for an ice breed..but it was only the start of ancients, surely we'd get some really wild designs soon and not go 10 breeds in a row without fat dragons fdgdsf but anyway, Banescales came next and I was still pretty hesitant about ancients, but I thought wyverns were an interesting way for them to test waters breaking the typical body plan. Not a dramatic departure, but still neat! My two hatches Shopsle and Colupis were okay but i really hoped to get a swampy banescale who i already knew i wanted to be fat, and found Malbraith. i was super excited about getting her and drew her right away before she was even gened c: then i got another green banescale, Rauscher and scattered Colupis which made him green too..so i was like. maybe all four of my banescales are siblings? it felt like that's just what they were meant to be now. then the other three all ended up being heavier than Malbraith so i was like. well clearly all of them are fat then! so i drew the other three too (all pictured above!) and it just clicked for me like..ooh drawing fat banescales feels natural. i want every banescale to be fat from now >:) and so they all are! every banescale is fat for me and always will be c: love my fat chickens, it just is right for them !
thank you!! happy fat dragon friday!!
“Conte d'Hiver” d'Éric Rohmer (1992) - quatrième volet du cycle des “Contes des Quatre Saisons” (1990-98) - avec Charlotte Véry, Frédéric van den Driessche, Hervé Furic, Michel Voletti, Christiane Desbois, la jeune Ava Loraschi et les participations de Danièle Lebrun, Roger Dumas, Diane Lepvrier, Edwige Navarro et François Rauscher, février 2023.
wanted to draw my banescale siblings together, as gijinkas! still trying to practice drawing people and groups more haha
In front from left to right is eldest sister Rauscher, and twins Colupis, and Shosple! And in back is Malbraith, the baby of the bunch! The youngest, but has not been the smallest for awhile omg (For reference, Rauscher is 48, Colupis and Shosple are 44, and Malbraith is only 30. Mal will always be their kid sibling regardless of whether or not she still counts as being a kid fdgdf)
also I should note - I didn’t design Rauscher! She’s a fan dragon of Marie Rauscher from the Sims 2: Apartment Life! so this is technically sims 2 fan art dfgfdgf
