Aamis (Bhaskar Hazarika, 2019)

Watched Aamis (Ravening 2019), an Assamese film directed by Bhaskar Hazarika, is a Love Story and then a Psychological Horror. It can also be said a Food Movie, because throughout the film Actors talk, cook, and eat Non-Vegetarian Dishes.

I think this is India's first movie based on Cannibalism, I may not know if there is any other. I got to know about this movie through a Youtuber (Filmi Indian) who reviewed it. But I didn't saw her review, I straight went to watch the trailer and then the Movie.

I liked the acting of Lima Das, but could not get Arghadeep Baruah in some instances where I saw him always smiling. But still both the main actors were good and were convincing for the most part.

The main characters come close to each other for having a liking for meat. Throughout the film, they even don't touch or kiss each other because of hesitation, but in the end, when they get caught by Police, they touch each other for the first time and they hold hands like lovers, a partner in crime in front of the whole media, which was also my favorite scene from the movie.

This movie was something different and would like more and more Indians to watch this kind of Cinema. Although people are free to like and dislike the movie, people should still know about this kind of cinema produced in India.
