Honestly the scene with ravima before giving tribute where they insult gaius apartment always makes me laugh. They are my favorite ro, i really vibe with the artistic ideals. Since gaius is usually entertained by defiance would he have found them more interesting (since he apparently didn't) if they would have told him their complaints to his face? Or does he draw the line at personal insults?
Like "My king your apartment is drab and basic. Also you were much cooler 2000 years ago, these days you are so garish and banal." How would he react to that?
Gaius would've loved that.
Ravima is the most powerful vampire in court aside from Lucius and Gaius. They could have done some serious damage... if they tried. But they didn't. Instead, whenever they were in the presence of the king, they looked away.
They. Looked. Away.
There's a reason Gaius' trophy was their eyes. He always takes the part that causes the most offence.
