about your post on how much fruit you can have, well I'm not a raw foodist, though I'm gonna give it a try next week, but I asked my aunt about the fruit consumption (she's a dietitian) and she said you can eat as many fruits as you want, it is not the sugar that you should worry about, it is watching carb intake (and in my opinion fiber too, lol because well you know too many figs and plums will have you in the bathroom too long...). But yea, fruit for the win!
Thank you! I've been doing a lot of research on fruit consumption and a low-fat raw vegan diet and repeatedly I see exactly what your aunt has validated, and that is: eat as much fruit as you desire.
It is just hard to wrap my head around having, say, 30 bananas a day, or 16 oranges for a meal, ect. But I need to keep in mind that so many female 801010-ers eat 2,500-3,000+ calories a day from fruit, and they are among the skinniest and energetic people I've seen..
Also, I've read and heard repeatedly, as long as your fat intake is low (about 10% or less) then you can have all the (fruit) sugar you want because fat in the blood stream blocks the sugar from being transported by the insulin, so the sugar stays in your blood much longer, which can cause fat storage, high blood sugar, high blood pressure, candida, and eventually diabetes.
Something that I heard recently is actually really helpful:
"Scare people with how much [fruit] you eat" - Teri Leventhal
And GOOD LUCK! on giving raw food a try. I've been playing around with it for over a month now, so if you need any help, insights, or support, you can always come to me! It has taken me a while to figure out, and it will constantly evolve with the more research I do and the more experience have.
Just remember that it is your raw food journey, and no one else, so give yourself ample time and patience.
I am so excited for you!!
