Did you know? In the Japanese version of Rayman GBC, Rayman and Mr Dark’s number of fingers were changed from four to five in the cutscenes.

Here’s a first comparison of all of the scenes with visible differences! Due to the limit of 30 pictures, Arcane Forest and the menu screens are in another post!

However, they forgot to change it specifically for the Fiery Depths version of the helicopter cutscene! Which is hilarious considering they could have just copy-pasted the identical Rocky Peaks version of the picture which they did edit!

Despite this meme, I'm one of the few people who still like Rayman 2 Forever. It's very imperfect and a downgrade over 1 in many regards, but I still think it's a very decent platformer for something released on the Game Boy Color! :)

That and its cutscenes are peak meme material lol

Let's continue the comparisons with the altered cutscenes in the Japanese version of Rayman GBC, which feature Rayman and Mr Dark with five fingers instead of four!

The 3D intro doesn't appear changed when it comes to the fingers, although it does feature the Japanese title!

That should be everything!

If you're interested, the Japanese release also had a few more differences, like unique symbols for the world banners!

Did you know? The Japanese version of Rayman for the Game Boy Color featured unique symbols for the levels’ banners...

So, I had the idea of merging them with the worldwide versions! As a bonus, I created a new one for Dark Legacy (which never had a title), and coloured + smoothed versions!

I’m planning to use those for my Rayman GBC ReDesigned project, a Rayman ReDesigner remake of Rayman GBC and its other PDA versions!

Did you know? Rayman for the Game Boy Color and Rayman 2 Forever both got a unique error screen for playing on an incompatible Game Boy model!

You can tell again that Rayman 2 GBC is a downgrade just by looking at the badly cropped logo and lazy message of the second one :P
