Rayman Redemption: Early SNES Skin Released!

Hello, Rayman community! I'm sure you all know of @ryemanni's Rayman Redemption and Rayman ReDesigner, the skins you can have Rayman wear in both games, and that one skin that's based on the cancelled SNES version of Rayman 1, right?

Well, what you may not know is that this skin used to look very different; originally, it was just an edit/recolor of Rayman's sprites from the final game, made to look like SNES Rayman:

You can see this version of the skin in action in an old trailer for Redemption on Ryemanni's YouTube channel:

A few days ago, I asked Ryemanni if he still had this version of the SNES skin lying around, and if he could release it as a custom skin for ReDesigner. He said he did have it, but he'd need to make some tweaks to make it compatible with ReDesigner. I offered to do it for him, and he agreed and sent me the file. After a bit of work, I finished the skin, and now it's available to download over on Rayman Redistributor, a website where people can share and download user-made content for ReDesigner, including levels, skins, backgrounds, music, and graphics.

A huge thank-you to Ryemanni for sending me the skin and allowing me to upload it for the sake of preservation; as much as I adore the SNES skin we ended up getting, it'd be a shame if the early version were lost forever. Thankfully, that's no longer a concern!

Did you know? The Japanese version of Rayman for the Game Boy Color featured unique symbols for the levels’ banners...

So, I had the idea of merging them with the worldwide versions! As a bonus, I created a new one for Dark Legacy (which never had a title), and coloured + smoothed versions!

I’m planning to use those for my Rayman GBC ReDesigned project, a Rayman ReDesigner remake of Rayman GBC and its other PDA versions!

I’ve made a playlist for all the unofficial games I play!

So far, it includes many Rayman fangames, such as Redemption, ReDesigner, Bowling 2, the Spooky Raymansion series, Globox Terror, or Dark Magician’s Reign of Terror!
