Remind, this is the same company that wants to cancel any further Rayman games if Rayman Retold doesn't succeed.

I’m cautiously optimistic about Rayman Legends Retold. But I’m am very pissed that Ubisoft is forcing everyone at gunpoint to buy the game or we’re not getting any more Rayman games anytime soon. I hate that corporate practice.

I agree it does feel like the fans are being held to ransom over Rayman 4, but at the same time maybe it’ll finally be time for the ‘WHERES RAYMAN 4’ crowd to put their money where their mouths are 😄

I think the best way to look at it is to say you’re not just giving your money to Ubisoft as a company. If you buy Legends Retold you are putting your money behind the design teams, the animators, the composers and the story crafters who have completely revamped this game. Because holy cow they really have.

Ubisoft believes Rayman has a chance, and they gave that chance to a talented team to make something with Rayman and see if people like it. Not just hard core fans who will buy anything with Rayman on it (I.e. Me) but gamers who want a colourful, creative and wacky game with a sprinkle of nostalgia (I know quite a chunk of the fanbase who got into Rayman via Origins and Legends).

Ubisoft are’t just saying ‘gives us money and we’ll make Rayman 4’; they are looking to give Rayman a dedicated team of creators for future games. And by paying for this game you are showing Ubisoft as a company that their faith in Rayman was well placed. It will make them less anxious to dive into a completely new idea with Rayman rather than riding on the coattails of an already successful game.

But hey, that’s just how I see it and I’m not part of the inner Ubisoft circle. I’m not going to sit here and say ‘if you don’t buy Rayman Retold you’re not a TRUE FAN’, because that’s nonsense. Buy the game if you genuinely think it looks good. Don’t buy it if it’s not your thing. Support Rayman in your own way and share your love for him online where everyone can see it. 💖

But boycotting the game in an empty attempt to ‘send a message to Ubisoft’ doesn’t work in this capitalist hellscape and will only punish future projects before they have the chance to shine.

I've been seeing some people say that polokus' calming biscuits are edibles which is honestly so funny because if it turned out to be true, that would explain why globox asked to take extra cookies. You could argue that he's was just being a foodie in that scene but like.

Maybe I might make this into a longer in a separate posts,

but here's what I wish the fandom could be more upset with outside of Raymans admittedly tame eyes (like blue arm sonic vibe rn wtf)

1. Denuvo is included in this game, seriously go check the steam page for Rayman Legends Retold, that glop is there.

(Seriously, Ubisoft is responsible for the much needed Stop Killing Games movement because they took out The Crew and blasted the back of its head across the metaphorical barn, who's to say, let alone trust that wouldn't happen to Rayman Legends Retold?)

2. Ubisoft blackmailing us with Rayman 4 not getting developed if this game doesn't succeed, like excuse me????

3. I know this is comparably a weak point, we don't know if Ubisoft is going to put Live Service or Micro-transactions into this reimagining, I HOPE NOT, it's just something I worry about.

So the "new" villain,i THINK is going to finally be mr dark,same aura of darkness,mysterious look,similar/close colour palette,holding floating orbs,cleary a mage ,the fact too that mr dsrk NEVER had a 3d model just pngs n spirts this could be the opportunity they created him an actual body and look,specially considering that ales mansey WILL appear too throught the game,it smells he will be helping the "mysterious figure"
