INDEX BELOW
0:00 - 3:08 RAINDANCE FILM FESTIVAL 0:02 - 0:37 - A selection from Weekly Updates with Elliot Grove I was in charge of filming and editing these weekly updates with Raindance Founder Elliot Grove that gave members and non members of the festival tips and links to courses, videos and Raindance pages. These were made with a quick turn around and encouraged constant communication between the company and it's customers.
0:37 - 1:18 - A single example of re-edited feature trailers for the festival's "Showing Tomorrow" Preludes I contacted filmmakers for excerpts and trailers and re-edited them into coherent 30 second clips to advertise the films showing the following days. These were then turned into DCP's to be played in cinemas. "An Open Secret" was one of the most difficult to get right, but one of the most satisfying none the less.
1:18 - 2:00 Raindance Awards Nomination clips I edited the Nomination Category clips to be shown at the Raindance Film Festival Awards ceremony. I contacted filmmakers for excerpts and trailers and re-edited them into coherent 15-20 second clips to show the nominations for each category. I also compiled a unique Raindance graphic with interchangeable text in after effects to introduce each new segment, These films were then turned into DCP's to be played in the cinema.
2:00 - 3:07 "The Ties That Bind" A behind the scenes special feature for the Deadly Virtues DVD Extras I created a behind the scenes DVD extra for Raindance Raw Talent's film “Deadly Virtues Love, Honour Obey” and I’m credited as Editor and Music.
MUSIC 3:07 - 3:42 Product Demonstration for Hamstead Soundworks I was commissioned to create some promotional short online videos demonstrating the prowess of this company’s impressive amplifiers and custom guitars.
3:42 - 4:22 Tale of Two - Bang Bang! Excerpt I started my own small independent videography company concentrating solely on no other agenda than recorded live acoustic music. Introducing Leah Godbold and Zac Wancke in Tale Of Two Singing a sweet cover of Jessie J's "Bang Bang" Collection of ND Small Sessions can be found here - vimeo.com/album/3272038
LIVE 4:22 - 5:02 Variations of a theme by Tchaikovsky by Daniel Thomas I was asked to edit, and in part film, a lunchtime concert of live classical music. See the full concert also on Vimeo here -vimeo.com/album/3272037
EVENTS 5:02 - 5:49 A selection of excerpts of event videography For the UWLSU I filmed events and created montages for their web pages and advertisements.
SHORT FILMS 5:50 - 9:34 "Kicking it" Trailer in full AND Exposition sequence of the final short film I wrote and edited and co-produced this short film in my final year of university. I earned a 1st (Distinction) and it was presented at the Graduate showcase as the Finale film. It sort of developed in my mind as a goodbye to many things, while non important to my grade, I wanted to create this meaningful short story; the ultimate meaning to which all stories refer has two faces: The continuity of life, the inevitability of death. I liked the idea of mixing the two and having these crossing paths of the two main characters reflect these meanings.
EXPERIMENTAL FILM 9:36 - 11:20 Excerpt from Experimental film "In Your Mind" In this experimental film we explore the subconscious mind and the fine line between daydreams vs. reality. I edited this film with flickering and overlapping strong images, with this idea of emulating the constant simultaneous connections audiences make with what they see with memories and sounds. We are entering this film in as many film festivals as possible and I am hopeful that it will do well in the experimental sectors.
Raymen's song
"Ricky was a young boy He had a heart of stone Lived 9 to 5 and worked his Fingers to the bone Just barely out of school Came from the edge of town Fought like a switchblade So no one could take him down
He had no money No good at home He walked the streets a soldier And he fought the world alone And now it's
18 and life you got it 18 and life you know Your crime is time and it's 18 and life to go
Tequila in his heartbeat His veins burned gasoline It kept his motor runnin' But he never kept it clean They say he loved adventure "Ricky's the wild on" He married trouble Had a courtship with a gun
Bang, bang! Shoot 'em up the party never ends You can't think of dying When the bottle's your best friend And now it's
18 and life you got it 18 and life you know Your crime is time and it's 18 and life to go
"Accidents will happen" They all heard Ricky say He fired his six-shot to the wind That child blew a child away
18 and life you got it 18 and life you know Your crime is time and it's 18 and life to go"
