Coworker K had to bring her kids by work today because she was on Kids Duty and needed something she forgot.

Her 3- and 4-year-olds ran down to my office yelling “WHERE IS MISS LAUREN” and when I was on the phone the 4-year-old gave me a high five and the 3-year-old stood in my doorway staring until I told the coworker (RB1, sometimes also Cheddar cause we have two guys whose initials are RB and I call them Big Beef and Cheddar cause they’re Arby’s. Get it?) on the phone, “Look, there’s a three-year-old who also wants my attention, can I stop talking to you?” and he said “My God, how long have they been waiting?” and hung up on me.

I got up to hug the kid and was immediately handed the newborn.

It was a good day.
