Standby for a mini rant about scheduling:

THE WINTER CLASSIC SHOULD BE ON NEW YEARS DAY AT NOON AND IT SHOULD BE THE ONLY GAME ON! IT SHOULD NOT BE ON NEW YEARS EVE AT FOUR IN THE FUCKING AFTERNOON AND IT DEFINITELY SHOULD NOT BE ONE OF SO MANY GAMES!

You know what the only game is on New Years Day? The fucking Devils-Kings. They couldn’t have flipped that game and the Winter Classic?

I’m not saying this as a pissed off Blues fan that has seen this team miss out on that noon time slot three out of three times and has seen the game not marketed nearly in the same way it is when one of the Black and Yellow teams play each other. I’m saying this as a hockey fan who genuinely looks forward to the Winter Classic every year. Who saw the game as an Event, a game to be looked forward to every year. As a fan who has had to watch the de-Eventification of it. As other outdoor games are added to the schedules. As they started scheduled one maybe two other games that day. Why the time slot got moved back. When the marketing for it for outside the fan bases of the teams playing dwindled.

It’s really sad and it’s frustrating. The Winter Classic should still be treated like it’s something special.
