such a shame that max and alex's time as teammates was mostly during the pandemic because fuck we deserved like 15 full seasons of their dynamic
especially thinking about the interview at the cota tower where they ask alex who would play him in a biopic and he says the guy that plays mr chow from the hangover, then alex asks max, max says leo dicaprio and alex makes fun of him like "lol he's way too handsome to play you" and max gets offended not because alex says he's not handsome, but bc he goes "well you picked mr chow!! ://" and alex tells him yeah exactly bc he's not handsome and max just looks at alex for a good few seconds like he's trying to explode him with his mind bc he thinks alex is actually really handsome and max himself thinks he isn't which is why he picked dicaprio (handsome) to alex's mr chow (not handsome) but alex doesn't Get It and max doesn't know how to double down without making it gay
and alex asking max how many asian movie stars he knows and max going "two!!" with all the confidence in the world (the two in question being ken jeong and alex albon. alexander albon famous asian movie star. anyway.)
then thinking about their talking bull podcast where alex says "this is very romantic isn't it?" into the mic and you can see max freeze and go through the 70 stages of gay panic in the span of one second
not that max is necessarily desperately in love with alex but alex is 1. a guy 2. a shameless flirt 3. tall as fuck 4. handsome. which is enough to keep max in a constant state of mild gay panic that he's trying so hard to be Casual and Straight about. and failing. mostly. alex poking him with the stick of flirtation once in a while to check that he's still indeed gay and giggling to himself when he realizes he has the power to momentarily turn max's brain off by wriggling his eyebrows slightly. how beautiful would it have been to get to observe them for a full normal season. i need to put them in a jar.
