What was rockets original planet like?
"Basically the top cats crapped up our planet so bad that they had to build a second crust around it to contain all of the yuck. And guess where that left the rest of us. "
"I couldn't really tell you all that much more about it... I didn't go out much. Me and all the kittens I knew grew up in boarding schools until we were old enough for The Test. It takes about a day to finish, and the result determines the job you'll have for the rest of your life.“
“I didn't have much of a social life so pretty much my entire kittenhood was spent studying for it. I wanted to be an engineer. and maybe make enough money to- oh you know. You get it.”
“When it got closer to that time I was pretty confident. And other cats actually started TALKING to me! So I felt pretty great but uh.. "
"Studying a lot doesn't exactly mean you're smart... "
"And our buildings never really had great security systems."
"And they were serious about "no-retakes".
And it's hard to afford prosthetics on a janitor's salary."
"And that can be a problem when you've gotta change a lightbulb."
"But I guess the terrible building security and self-taught engineering skills were a benefit to me later on... "
"So uh all things considered I guess I ended up okay! Enough..."
"It... wasn't that bad. I could've lived with it. If I was strong enough to live with my terrible decisions yknow? I mean, what I did to leave it was so ... drastic. And dangerous. I felt like I had nothing to lose, but I probably screwed up so many people's jobs and lives and broke a ton of crap and probably.. hurt someone... And someone smarter could've used that ship and I dunno, changed the system somehow? Stayed and made it better? Instead of running away to who knows where? I could never come up with something like that. And I wasn't thinking of anyone else. I just got a bit of luck and grabbed it I guess. Even if I didn't deserve it... "
"The last transmission I got said they'd kill me on sight if I ever came within sight of the planet again. Soooo that's that! "
