@rcgued gets a starter they didn't ask for!
Gerold had returned from the princess' wedding in absolutely foul spirits. It was no shock to Marin that things didn't go like he'd wanted. They had no proof, so of course the crown wasn't going to punish him. No matter how much all of them suspected.
Daemon arriving in Runestone was met with mixed reactions. Marin is mostly surprised he's actually shown up, while House Royce seems generally displeased. Lady Arryn is sending someone to help settle things, but unsurprisingly, a dragon is faster than a horse, even if the distance isn't as far to travel. But now Daemon has arrived, and Marin has been watching him intently since Caraxes flew over Runestone.
She doesn't care that Daemon's here. She doesn't.
Marin sits on the front steps out to the courtyard, watching Caraxes with interest while he waits for his rider to return. She's not scared the dragon will eat her, which seems to be the general consensus about what'll happen if anyone is anywhere near the blood wyrm.
She hears steps behind her, and glances back to see Daemon standing there. She's not sure how long he's been there. She looks back at Caraxes. "Everyone thinks you did it, you know," she says. "Uncle Gerold's had to be talked out of dueling you several times." He'd lose, and then where would they all be?
