March 6th Meeting Highlights
1. We went through the pictures of the venue that we took on our trip last week! ( you can find the pictures in a previous post )
2. We then talked about the set up at the venue.
The main area - has a tall ceiling and is very spacious! It has a brick wall , and a wall that is completely glass mirrors. This is the area you will see when you first walk in. In this area we will have the DJ - up against the brick wall, or in front of the glass wall, and then we will have our 24x24 or 26x26 dance floor in front of wherever he will be set up. There will also be a refreshment table stocked with water and drinks just in case you get hot or dehydrated on the dance floor
The two conference rooms - are normally separated by a wall but on prom night the wall will be pushed back to make one big room. In this combined room we will have the food set up and tables. We will have about 15 or so round tables set up for people to eat at. and hopefully a photo booth ( if we raise enough money ) and a place where people can take posed group pictures or couple pictures, we will also hopefully have a few places to socialize and play games.
We decided on this set up so people will get the amazing vibrant feel of prom and dancing when they first walk in but then have a relaxing and less intense place to sit and talk when they get tired of dancing.
3. We talked about PROM TICKET SALES
Prom Tickets will go on sale sometime this upcoming week March 11th!
but.....If you go in a Group of Six People ( 3 couples ) tickets are $35 each ($210) total! (which is the BEST deal )
you can look for the Prom Ticket Sale forms in the RCHS High School office in Crockett , The Kiowa office , or I'll be posting it in the Facebook Class Page, on My Facebook Page, and on Tumblr so you can just print it out. Make sure you fill out you form carefully and legibly and turn you form in with your money (cash, debit card, or check to the BUSINESS OFFICE in THUNDERDUCK! ) ** If you are buying group tickets or couple tickets you have to turn in your money at ONE TIME at the business office)
4. PROM COURT NOMINATIONS
We talked about how to take nominations for PROM COURT
Since it is a Junior/Senior Prom : we will have prom Prince and Princess for juniors and Prom King and Queen for seniors . We will be starting to hand out and collect Nomination forms in late April right before Senior graduation and Final Exams! Juniors you will either get your forms during your last TAKS test, your CCP classes or Math Lab and seniors you will get your nomination forms in your Capstone classes. Votes will be counted by our Prom Sponsor Mrs. Andrews and Dr. Edney. There will be 3 to 4 Girls and Boys in each category and when you walk in prom night you will get to vote for the top nominees and the winners will be announced sometime during prom!
This is the MOST important aspect of making sure Prom is amazing! We will be having a Bake Sale either March 26th or March 28th depending on which date has the most volunteers! If you're interested in volunteering please let me know! by email: [email protected] or text me! 214-282-3086
We will be having a car wash coming up soon as well, this will be off campus though! so please let me know if you would be interested in that as well. We are thinking of the location somewhere near the plano area.
6. Student Volleyball Game!
This will be sometime in April, I am still talking to the volleyball coach to see when we would be able to use the gym for practices!
There will be three games
Junior Girls vs Junior Boys
and Senior Girls vs. Senior Boys
the winners of the first two games will play each other for the trophy!
Contact Leslie Jackson, Parto Jalali or Maen El-Aiwat if you want to be a player or coach.
