I really wanted this to be one of those super fun runs that you want to last forever, and it wasn’t. It was fine, good even, but there was nothing special about it. I wanted something special.
When I decided to do a run streak, I was pretty sure I wouldn’t last a week. I figured something would come up - weather, some event, just plain not wanting to run - that would keep me from going one day and that would be the end of it. I’ve now run every day for 100 days, even if it was cold, or hot, or raining. Even if I was busy, or hungover, or tired, or just wanted to be lazy. Even the mornings that I went skiing, and camping, and shopping, even the afternoons/evenings that I went Frisbee golfing, or played volleyball, or had a 21st birthday to attend. Even on my own birthday. I don’t always go very fast, and I don’t always go very far, but I always go, and I have to admit I’m really proud of myself for that.
I celebrated by buying myself a hydration pack, ‘cause someday I’m gonna get past that 3 mile hurdle and I’m gonna want water when I do.
Tagging some people that I definitely want to see this ‘cause they’ve been super supportive of me and my running in general. @frontalbread, @oliverbarber, @mynewnormaluc, @ladyandthetrack, @malachi-is-shiny, @uhhhhnoooo, @iamanangrypenguin, @isureamheather - thank you all so much for your support and inspiration!!
