Finding it hard to get out the door? Sprint away from your excuses with these simple tricks
September Streakin', Day 6!
Another night run on the books 💙 Took it easy today and just enjoyed the ride.
Cheers to starting again.
I’ve been away from running for awhile. I want to blame graduate school, but it’s not what’s entirely at fault. I’ve been super unmotivated to run for about a year, which made me so so sad.
Not running has made me realize how much joy running has brought to my life. I’ve been scared and intimidated to start again because I’m back to the basics. But I’m so so excited to begin, and bring that joy back, which I’ve put off for so long.
I’ve decided to start with the runners world run streak, which is actually how I started to prep for my first half marathon.
I want to hold myself accountable through this blog, which I’ve done in the past. It might not be a picture every day but I’ll do my best.
Also,
Thank you for the kind words on my last post💕✨
PS the mismatched socks have not changed
Hello from day 85
First, please raise a glass to my mom. She'd have been 84 today*. Please excuse my post-workout crazy beard. Because that's what happened. Didn't break away during the day for a workout, so resolved to get it in after the kids went down. I just didn't have it in me to get that 5th rep of deadlift at 225. I've got a lifetime 1RM of 305, so this is a little disappointing. BUT, i was trying to concentrate on not rounding my back, so I'm glad I erred on the side of caution.
The leg curls/extensions were easy peasy last time, so I upped the weight. The lunges? Holy crap. You can tell I've never seriously had lunges as part of my programming. 2 sets in of each and I bailed. There's always the next time.
Finally, the purposeful walk, because that's about all I had in me.

* I wrote this last night but didn't post it, so that's from 2/7/2022.
Welp. I missed yesterday. I spent the day doing homework and studying and then got invited to dinner with some friends. I made a promise to myself that if I can fit friends into my schedule, I will. And you know what? It was worth it.
In the past, missing one day of something like this would’ve made me give up on the goal entirely. But I’m viewing this with a mindset of progress over perfection, effort over output.
So today I went for a trail run in the rain, which marks day 6 of my kinda broken run streak 😊
5k on a sunny day but forever fighting the mental fog.
After another 3 miles for Day 2, dialed up 4 miles for Day 3. These miles use to seem so much easier to come by back in the day😂
