9 mile long run to finish out the month! I may have missed peak wildflower season on the lakefront trail, but at least I’m back in time to see the leaves change 🍁🍂
((also 10/10 would recommend the Oiselle firecracker long sleeve))

Did weights, ran, did yoga. Not bad not bad.
Marathon training W13D6: 32 km
Well, this definitely happened, I'll give it that. I went out with friends last night and had a few too many drinks because I'm a dumbass. If you've never run 32 kilometers with a hangover, I really don't recommend it. The annoying part is that for the most part I felt shockingly great. My breathing was easy, my legs were cooperating, and I didn't let the overall distance intimidate me too much. But unfortunately, I felt SUPER nauseous for most of this and it got worse towards the end. The last 2 km or so were an absolute death march. I also listened to a podcast interview with Jordan Hasay about her mom dying right before the Boston marathon, and I started full-on crying while running. I really do not recommend that either.
Overall though, this went way better than I was expecting it to, so I can't complain too much. This was the longest run of my training cycle and I'm very ready to ease off on the long runs as I head into taper.
Saturday morning long run and coffee date with my favorite training partner this morning! The first two miles or so were chilly (55 degrees!) and the rest was beautiful. I’m ready to love my runs again.
Some very overdue new shoes! Just in time for my long run tomorrow
First long sleeve run! Fall has officially arrived in Chicago 🍁🌾🍂
Ran my first workout run in 8+ weeks today! Going in to it, I had no clue what I could run so I didn’t have any pace goals in mind besides “fast”. I was very pleasantly surprised that my legs still have a lot of speed in them!
5x(400 hard/200E/200 harder/400E)
400s were 6:27-6:58 pace
200s were 6:10-6:40 pace
Also the high school marching band was practicing so that was *fun* 🙃
Longest run in a very long time.
