He takes the bone after leaning down to get it. Tentatively, mind. The poor girl's hands were already shaking as is when she slid it across the floor because she was too afraid to make contact. It was a finger bone. More accurately--a phalange.
Without much hesitation, a tendril emerges through the virus infected marrow bone of the affected meta carpal and interweaves it back into place. It fits like a glove.

The crash happened quickly, they'd heard it. The copter descending straight into an empty lot.
Anubis is cautious. Waiting for the noise to settle, Minerva tugged his collar. Wanting to go near the crash to see if anyone survived. Anubis doubts it & refuses. She huffed & climbed the gate by herself, hopping over & dashing across the grass.
Anubis squeezed through the gap in the gate. Swiftly catching up to trot ahead of her. Upon hearing a heartbeat Anubis tore into the door, denting it & ripping it off the hinges.
Snarling, he began to bark. Backing up & pushing Minerva back to hide behind a car. He leaped up, barking louder.

Can you share anything about the re! Verse concept with the omega timeline? I’m excited to learn more about it
Aaaa! Thank you! Well, here's a little synopsis of the concept:
Re!Verse is an alternate reality from Underverse where Cross never left the Omega Timeline and returned to X!Gaster. This caused a ripple affect of events that resulted in X!Gaster uniting Error and Ink and they sealed him away in the remnants of X!Tale. X!Chara and Cross are the only known survivors of X!Tale, who both reside in the a Omega Timeline.
Error and a Ink have a rocky relationship after everything, and are on and off constantly. Due to Error erasing much of the multiverse it needs to heal and the mass deletion of AUs created corrupted codes and anomalies and several other 'glitched' beings and parts to be scattered around, causing damage to whatever is left and harming outcodes and incodes.
Ink has their first child, Oras, without telling Error due to their strained relationship, and then has Axel as their relationship improves and Error leaves the Anti-Void to inhabit the remnants of the Doodle sphere with Ink.
Core!Frisk sees the harm being done by their actions and the fallout of the X!Event and comes to the two beings with a proposition. In exchange for providing a safe home in the Omega Timeline for them and their children, Error and Ink become protectors/guardians for the timeline and clean up the mess of corruption caused by Errors mass destruction. With this, the two agree, and they leave their old roles as destroyer and guardian to redeem themselves and learn to live among others as well as be parents.
In the Omega Timeline Error provides most of the security and acts as the sort of 'bouncer', protecting the timeline from unwanted anomalies and threats. He also is responsible for maintaining the access routes and making sure the DOORS that lead to the timeline are functional. It took a lot of time for him to adjust to the timeline and live less like, well, a hobo. As a guardian he's much more relaxed and less glitchy and unstable. He's matured a lot but is still prone to anger. Some people can't forgive him for what he did, but he doesn't blame them.
Ink is responsible for helping with the creation of buildings and other parts of the timeline. Since they can create pretty much anything with Broomie they help around when someone wants a house or if anyone needs a creative hand. However, they also provide security like Error and the two are basically a duo when to comes to managing and watching over how the multiverse heals without them. Ink is learning how to be more expressive and emotional despite being soulless. They are learning to be more empathetic and caring. Ink truly becomes a more caring and kind figure while still maintaining some goofy energy.
Truly they both act more like adults than they ever have acted in the past. Of course not everything is sunshine and rainbows, but they're trying their best <3

The streets are barren of any life, the eerie quiet that accompanies all dead things pervasive in even the smallest of spaces.
Anubis slowly walked into a ransacked store, paws silent & carefully placing his steps. Sniffing about for any goods that his girl would be able to eat. Nosing a shelf, a few cans of Chef Boyardee & beans.
Said girl is Minerva, who stuffs the cans in the packs on his back. He manages to find a hidden stash of chips & Juicy Juice boxes. All of it stuffed into the left side of the packs. His right side has weapons in them that he kept Minerva from touching. Ammo, a small pistol, first aid, herbs & knives.
Minerva gasped, hand grabbing a fistful of fur. Anubis began growling, quickly leading the child into a hiding spot. He began barking viciously, Minerva screaming when an infected woman tried to pull her out from under a shelf. Anubis tackled the woman to the ground. Snarling & tearing the once human apart.
