Review:

This is such a guilty pleasure of a movie. Its premise is simple: a meek woman, Pilar, changes her life overnight by telling everyone that annoys her to ‘fuck off’, basically. I call it a guilty pleasure because the movie shows various frustrating situations we’ve all been tempted, or had the urge, to tell the other off: when your boss disqualifies your work and experience, when your step-son is disrespectful, when you stand up for yourself and people ask whether you’re on your period, etc. 

The first half of the movie is very fun, and at least for me it was also somewhat cathartic watching Pilar stand up for herself and get rid of people in her life which weren’t doing her any good. I’d definitely had the impulse to do as she did sometimes, so I kind of lived through her I guess lol

My somewhat low score, though, is because the second half for me is a little disappointing. The movie ends up with a nice set-up for talking about boundaries, impulses and holding back, and balancing the two, but ends up being very lukewarm and unsatisfying. Nonetheless, it’s a very light-hearted movie, and the first half especially I believe is a nice pick me up for these hard times ~ Admin P

Hola amigos del Festival Cine Internacional de Fort Lauderdale. Quiero agradecerles muchísimo este premio hermoso que me dieron por mi trayectoria cinematográfica y especialmente agradecerles a Gregory von Hausch.
