brynden has been quite a guide for his father—it’s through the baby’s growing that he seems to count how long it’s been since the last time he’s seen his sister, remembering her reactions when seeing and holding her nephew for the first time just as bright as day. it is, perhaps, one of his favorite recent memories… and the gods know how hard it’d been for him to start working on them.
far from an unhappy man, to feel deserving of everything he has is still a concept klaus has to grasp and work in his life. his features deny his feelings well when he is surrounded by people he isn’t close to, people who can not read him, the scars always visible making his expressions seem harder and more serious than they actually are. quiet—that is the correct word to describe him; quiet, stoic, it always comes as a surprise to anyone when his lips tugs in a smile, or when his chuckle sound suddenly, hard to be contained when he is too amused. those occasions seem to be especially for his family, though—not many outsiders knew lord errol could actually be loose, even if mostly listening rather than talking.
katherynne, then, is one of those who make the hard features on his face soften easily. either from seeing her in front of him, as he walks towards her like he does now, or at the letters she writes him, to which he always can hear her tone through the words.
his deep blue eyes are sincere and transparent the moment he sees the petite woman, a smile bigger than his face opening as he approaches her. “my dearest sister,” his hands find her shoulders, holding her lightly as he takes a look at her, as if looking for any changes (and there are a few, of course) and signs that she’s been treated well . “it is so good to see you,” his voice becomes sweeter as he cups her cheek, now looking at her face. he doesn’t have to ask how she’s been, as he has been informed of everything the past few months, but he still looks for the answer in her eyes before pulling her close and into his embrace.
