Hello anon! Thank you for leaving this lovely comment on my fic/podfic. Setting aside all the queerphobia, I just want to know what you think the word “abscond” means?

According to various definitions (including this one by the Random House Kernerman Webster’s College Dictionary), to abscond is to run away and hide, in order to avoid repercussions. I’m not sure what it looks like from your perspective, but from my point of view, the person leaving anonymous hate messages on random fanfiction is the one to whom this word best applies.

Additionally, I’m not sure what you’re doing on the Archive Of Our Own if you don’t like seeing LGBTQ content. Fanfiction has always been a place of safety for queer people, and fanfiction has always been queer. I’m not sure how steps towards better representation and inclusion counts as downhill but if you die on the top of that hill, well at least you’re dead.

Do you what what irritates me most about the hate I see for Moffat/RTD and their characters or just DW as a whole? It's that with some of it, it's so poorly structured, the grammar is awful and the spelling is just horrendous and so it's like a 2 year old wrote it. Seriously, I just want to throw a fucking dictionary at them and tell them to go back to school and actually learn some English. I mean, post all the hate you want, I don't mind, but at least make it well written so people might actually take you, and the points you are making, more seriously.
