Since people in smcu keep overdosing, I thought I’d give you all a little crash course on What To Do If Someone OD’s.
Always know what drugs you and others are doing. Not “well he said it was something and I trust him!” You need to be able to say exactly what you or your friend took. Ex: My name is Theo and I just snorted Vicodin (I didn’t, this is just an example, but that’s what you should be able to tell people).
Never take more than what you’re comfortable with. If you haven’t done hard drugs before, don’t just decide to try some. If you haven’t had alcohol, cigs, or weed, try those! I promise you weed will get you high enough. Don’t go for LSD. If you are even slightly uncomfortable or unsure about what you’re taking, don’t!
Carry and know how to use Narcan (there are courses you can sign up for in-person and tutorials on YouTube). It only works on opioid drugs, but it’s available in most pharmacies (where I live at least) and you can get it no questions asked. You probably also want to know how to do CPR. Narcan is a must though.
If they pass out, roll them on to their side. This goes for alcohol as well; your friend is likely to die from choking on their own vomit. I know it’s gross. Roll them onto their side.
Never be afraid to call an ambulance or the cops. It is much better to have a friend in police custody than a friend whose death is on your hands.
If you aren’t able to call an ambulance (Ex: when I OD’d Boris and I were at risk of being killed by the painting mafia and I honestly am not sure Boris had a phone at the time) you have to keep them awake. Get the drugs out of their system: vomiting, literally anything to get them out. Boris made me walk in circles. Then, get them food. Make sure they eat, and if they throw it up right after keep feeding them. Give them fluids, preferably water but literally anything works. Don’t let them sleep for too long; wake them up in intervals but make sure they get rest. Don’t let them get high again if you can avoid it (you obviously don’t want them to go through withdrawal at the same time as recovering from an overdose)
The worst thing you can do is nothing. I don’t blame anyone for not knowing how to help Boris (and I will never stop blaming myself for leaving my phone off. For not being there) but had you not had the bright idea to call 911 or had the ambulance arrived a little later, he could have died. At best, he would have had permanent brain injuries. We’re still waiting to hear from the hospital and see how severe it is, but I am not joking when I say that you standing around nearly killed him. That’s why it’s so important to know how to handle this kind of thing.
We have a track record of two overdoses in two days. You need to know how to save your friends lives, or you will end up their murderers. @realest-stan @gayestrichie @alivest-eddie @ask-the-wheeler @bisexualborisp
The NYT writing about H being closeted 😳 The paper of record. Telling its millions of readers. Harry Styles might be closeted.

hi i finished that madohomu fic ive been vaguing for months <3
small rant/psa?
idk why, but lately i have been seeing a lot of writers coming out to say that people are stealing their works and putting them on other platforms, not only that, but the people copying claim it as their own.
let me just say, stealing/copying someone else's work is not cool. as writers, we spend a lot of time making these fics look great and detailed for everyone, and it is really shitty of other people to basically steal their hardwork, and post it on another platform claiming it as their own.
i'm not sure why this happens or why people just think it's okay? but it's not.
this hasn't ever happened to me but i've seen multiple writers talk about it, and it makes me upset knowing that this happens to hardworking people.
another thing that has also gone around is other people basically copying other peoples works, basically putting the same exact scenarios, events, and basically acting as if the idea is their own.
that isn't cool either, you're basically taking someone else's hard work, and putting it into your own words. in a way, it's like plagiarism.
i ask that you please do not copy or steal my work. i work very hard to put out these fics for everyone, and it would be really shitty if i were to find that someone was stealing it and claiming it as theirs. like i said, it's never happened to me, but seeing how it makes other writers feel i can tell it isn't a good feeling at all. nobody deserves to have their content stolen. it's unacceptable and honestly really immature. please don't do it.
please please! if you find a work that is copied or someone claiming my work as theirs, PLEASE MESSAGE ME ASAP. i don't have an ao3, but i do have a wattpad that i don't post fics on. in general as well, if you find a work that is copied or stolen from another writer, MESSAGE THEM. it's important that we find it and delete it.
as a reminder, copying is absolutely prohibited, and well as stealing my work. i ask that my works are only here on tumblr, and not wattpad, nor ao3.
anyways end of rant

He rolls back the sleeve on his left arm and looks at the scabbed-over words that have been cut into his skin.

It’s not like Jotaro makes it a habit to listen to what other people say to him, but this is too strange of a case. He doesn’t remember doing this to himself, but if he didn’t do it, then who? And if he did do it, then why can’t he remember?
Four months after Egypt, and there is something strange happening back at home.
Struck by the abstract nature of absence: yet it’s so painful, lacerating. Which allows me to understand abstraction somewhat better: it is absence and pain, the pain of absence—perhaps therefore love?
