Treesofreverie's Read-A-Thon: Log #5
I’m nearing the end of The Gospel of Loki and I have to say I’m really able to relate to all of Loki’s thoughts and feelings. Yes, I suppose that is technically a bad thing, but we choose our favorite characters because they remind us of ourselves, don’t they?
I just really love the way Joanne M. Harris wrote this story, and the way Loki narrates it. This is probably going to be my new favorite book of all time.

I’m a few chapters into The Gospel of Loki and dear gods I love this book. Even though Myth Loki is very different from MCU Loki, he’s also VERY similar. I keep hearing Tom Hiddleston’s voice in my head.
And he’s such a sassy lil shit. He “took a nap” during his archery contest against Heimdall. Then he beat him in the most hilarious and clever way, I’m already done with him.
Oh and apparently he really loves jam tarts.

**SPOILERS: Blood Ninja III
Hooooooly crap
I just finished Chapter 23 and I am laughing so hard. So Taro, Hiro, Hana and Shusaku all went to Miyajima to get Kusanagi, a.k.a. the sword that is the only weapon capable of killing a dragon, right? Well it turns out, the sword isn’t even there. It’s in Shirahama.
Usually I predict the events of a book well, but man I did not see that coming. The sword is in fricking Shirahama, Taro’s hometown. That’s priceless.
BUT WAIT! That’s not all. Kusanagi is also being guarded by a dragon. In other words, as Taro put it, “I need Kusanagi to kill the dragon of the mountain, because no other weapon can prevail. But to get to Kusanagi I have to get past another dragon.”
I mean, I’ve read plenty of situations were the protagonist is totally and very badly screwed. But Taro’s situation right there just sounds so bad it’s hilarious.

So as I said before, I might get excited and read ahead, and well, I did. I’m about halfway through Blood Ninja III now. I’ll probably finish by the end of the day.
Also, since my Sherlock bookmark is so much more photogenic than me, I’ll be posting random pictures of him and my book[s] throughout the Read-A-Thon (:
