A1:  When did you start reading fanfiction?

About 15 years ago. Had no idea what it was when I stumbled across it, but once I figured it out I was like ‘omg, imma read all the fics!’ Good times.

A2: How did you find your first fic?

I know it was on Portkey, the HP site for Harry/Hermione, but I can’t remember how I found it now. I think my friend mentioned it or something and I just went there to look at the discussion, but I got sidetracked by the fanfiction.

B1:  Which one’s better for reading fic: FFN, AO3, or tumblr? Why?

I’m used to FFN because that’s what I’ve used mostly for 15 years, but I don’t really care. As long as I can get some kind of alert when a fic updates, I’m happy.

B7: Which character is your favourite to read about? Why?

Just answered this one before, but it’s Zuko. Basically I really like the found family trope and seeing him overcome his own demons to be a better person.

Has a fic ever made your face hurt from laughing so much?

The one that springs to mind is Fixer Upper by @incognitajones, I remember falling off the couch in a fit of laughter and my husband asking me if I was ok.

What’s the longest fic you’ve read in one sitting?

I read fics in spurts (heehee) so I never really read more than maybe a few thousand words at a time. Having said that, I have binged fics before, none of them coming to mind right now...

😈What trope do you hate / avoid at all costs?

Infidelity fics are ones I avoid as much as I can. If it's by a writer I really love or if the premise seems interesting, I might give it a go but I generally avoid them.

🤷🏼What thing that your fandom loves do you just not “get”?

Oh, this applies to every fandom. The top/bottom thing. Fandoms are obsessed with this 😂

I genuinely can't remember if there's anything specific to Station 19/marina itself... no it's probably still the top/bottom thing lmao

So many fics have done this! But one marina fic that has ever done this was this one fic, really it was just one part where Carina said thank you and Maya said "pasta sauce" and then explained it was because of Prego. It was the most terrible joke but I just died 😂😂😂

😍 What is your favourite fic trope?

Oooh, honestly my favorite trope has always been friends to lovers, but I do have to say that I've found I have a very tender spot for enemies to lovers too.

🤣 Has a fic ever made your face hurt from laughing so much?

Weirdly enough, I can’t think of fics that come to mind, but not because they don’t exist. More because I rarely read fics centered around humor, if that makes sense? I’m usually the type that like “full” fics - equal parts romance, plot, humor, and angst - so if I have LOLed at something, it’s probably specific scenes in some of my favorite fics... that have later on made me bawl with the pain of it all. I will say though, I love internal dialogue in fic because it gives sooo much room for stop/start awkward thought humor, you know?

🤷 What thing that your fandom loves do you just not “get”?

So, I have to preface this by saying that this is in no way a dig at tropes/characterizations people enjoy. This is just my personal opinion, and I’d never say/do anything to discourage people from writing/consuming what they like.

That said: bratty Louis is something the fandom seems to really enjoy and it’s not my thing. I don’t like bratty characters in general, because I’m really not a fan of the Manic Pixie Dream Human trope (I don’t like characters - any characters - that “just do things” to either be cute or to get attention from their love interest).

Also, my interpretation of Louis as a person is that he’s grown into a man who’s very giving, selfless, eloquent, and rational, and while he can still be a sarcastic little shit with a tongue like a switchblade, I don’t see him as the type of person who really demands anything from anyone, least of all just for attention. :)

Hey, @m4delin!  Sorry, this took a while. I literally just got back from work.

😍 What is your favorite fic trope?

🤔🤔🤔  Hm, not quite sure, but I do love it when the game, video, fic, story, has the character literally breaking the fourth wall.  It’s one of my favorites because of the possibilities of doing a jump scare with it!  The best example is Sans from Undertale how he addressing you the player at times and the timing!  And the nice little easter eggs with first Simulacra.  I even wrote a fanfic that this little fourth wall break with The Narrator (Guest Star of @weirdmixofweirdness for Whumptober 2019).

🏆 What do you wish more authors in your fandom would write about?

Hm, good question.

For the Sanders Sides, I would love to see more of the backstory of Virgil!  He’s one of my favorites!  I would love to see other authors' interpretations and versions of Virgil when he was part of “The Others”/The Dark Sides.

For the Markiplier Fandom, I would love to see more the Host/the Author background stories.  There are many theories and stories of how the Author became the Host.  And many stories just involving either the Host or the Author, but I would love to see more backstory on both these characters!  Either how the Author became the Author, or the writer’s interpretations and theory of how the Author became the Host.

For the JackSepticeye Fandom, well that’s a bit of toss-up!  Mostly because when I was growing up, I fell in love with Superheros, detective stories (PI or Amature).  My Dad used to have DC and Marvel Comics and I would sneak into my parents' room and read them!  So, I have to say I would love to see more Jackieboy Man and maybe even Marvin the Magnificent.  Simply because there the two Egos we know very least about!  Both Jackie and Marvin made I think a one time Canon appearance in their videos but we haven’t seen them since.  The Community literally took to them and adopted them!  I guess that kinda means in a way that their, Fan Creations?  🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️ IDK.  So, for me, I would like to see more of them!

Yes, I sometimes do!  Before I had the account, I had no problem doing that! Especially if I really liked the story!  Even now, that I have one, I sometimes do, do that!

🌍 What is your dream AU?

Oh, wow!  I honestly have no idea!  I mean I read some pretty good AU’s!!!  But I honestly don’t know what would be my dream AU.  I’m actually trying one myself.  So, we’ll see how that goes!
