Thunderous explosions thudded from your bare feet. You kept running, with the clouds of frosty fog escaping your lips. Ice consumed your feet, but you paid no attention to how cold the dark marble were on your heels. 

A liquid voice resounded from the depth of darkness you left behind, lilting its terrible temptations. Your heart was strangled with fears behind her lull. Her words brought you no comfort.

Lovely bird, a crowned spider Our hearts ever grow wider and never so far.

You kept running.

Let us weave a web of stars Come, little bird, Your song is heard.

Wind blew against your back. Your heart danced faster, that you could feel your tongue burning. A slow inferno. Fly and chase a little dream While the spider schemes.

The floor no longer was like a silk, but the light at the end of this endless stretch of corridor beckoned you. 

Spread your wings Like a king You’ll be freed...! Take to the air and be ensnared

Strange sensations stuck to you like an infestation and you noticed too late. Gravity abandoned you when you slipped and fell—but your face never met the polished floor. Instead, your entire body were pulled upward like a puppet on its strings. Below you, your wet eyes shot wide at the silver twines pulled taut, weaving an intricate web. A lone thread was so finely thin they were hardly visible to naked eyes. Layers upon layers made them whiter than snow. 

Something brushed over your back and toyed with your frazzled hair, “by the webs of our adoration, for you are our salvation.” Across your cheek, you arched and stiffened at the goddess’ brushing kiss. With her lullaby completed, she sighed and crooned a smile, “I’ve caught you, my little bird.”

Spider x Reader Drabble

Quinni sat in her morning English class, doodling in her notebook as Miss Obah went through attendance. She didn’t particularly like English this year since she didn’t have any friends in that class. Still, at least it was with Miss Obah.

“Okay,” The teacher began. “Now before we begin, we have a new student joining us so please give her a warm welcome.”

Everyone turned to watch the unfamiliar girl enter the room and walk up to the front. “Would you like to introduce yourself?”

The newbie nodded and smiled at the class.

“Hi I’m Y/N. It’s nice to meet you all.” She had a warm, welcoming aura about her. Miss Obah nodded.

“Does anyone have any questions for Y/N?” A couple hands went up. Missy was picked first.

“How come you changed schools?”

“I moved here a couple weeks ago. My Dad got a new job.” Missy nodded with a polite smile. Y/N pointed to Ant at the back.

“Are you single?” The class erupted with noise. Half laughing, the other half telling Ant to shut up. Y/N was just amused. She chuckled along with the others but didn’t answer. She caught the eyes of the boy next to the one who asked the question.

A blonde boy. Tall and kinda lanky but still strong. Plain white shirt with an orange button up over it. One ear pierced and a silver chain around his neck. He was leaning back in his chair, arms relaxed and folded across his chest.

He was smiling at her like most of the class yet it felt a little different. He almost looked shy when she looked at him, contradicting to his otherwise confident persona.

“Okay thank you for that Ant.” Miss Obah shut down. “That’s enough questions for now. Why don’t you sit next to Quinni?” The teacher gestured to the student. Y/N walked over and sat down.

“Hi.”

“Hi.” The girls exchanged.

“Quinni would you mind looking after Y/N for today?” Miss Obah asked. Quinni nodded.

“Yeah I can do that.”

“So, anyone you’ve seen take your fancy yet?” Amerie wiggled her eyebrows comically making Y/N laugh. Harper playfully pushed Amerie’s shoulder.

“Oh come off it Ams she’s been here a day.”

“Well…” Y/N mumbled. “There is this one guy…” The group all leaned closer in excitement.

“Oh my gosh who??” Amerie poked.

“Uh I don’t know his name but,” Y/N gestured over to the other side of the quad. “The blonde one, over there.”

Dusty, Spider and Ant were hanging out and chatting. The group with Y/N all pulled disgusted faces. Darren shook their head and put their hands on her protectively.

“Oh no honey. Definitely not.” The others did the same with similar responses.

“Oh.” Y/N replied, disappointed.

“Why him?” Malakai asked, a question they were all thinking. Y/N shrugged with a small smile on her face.

“I thought he was kinda cute. I like how he smiled at me when I introduced myself this morning.” Harper shook her head.

“Whatever that smile meant, it’s not a good thing.” The others agreed. Y/N sighed.

“Okay then.” She looked back over at the trio of boys to see Spider looking her way. He smiles at her then turns back to the boys. Y/N thought to herself.

I don’t think I’m gonna be able to ignore that.

Synopsis: The students of Hartley High discover a sex map in the old stairwell which causes public outrage and puts all kinds of relationships on the line. Y/N is surprised to find herself on the map connected to a certain blondie

Y/N walked into school the following Monday, not particularly excited to hang with her so called friends. Sasha and Missy hadn’t called or texted her over the weekend about ditching her at the party. Missy texted her about her class schedule for the new school year and Sasha hadn’t said anything at all.

Not surprising, just disappointing.

She decided to walk to school, not really wanting to be in a car with them right now. Dusty, Ant and Spider were in their usual morning spot near the bikes. Ant spotted her and sped over, nearly tripping over his own feet in the process.

“Y/N!” The girl stopped and blinked.

“Yeah Ant?”

“Can I see your timetable for this year?” Y/N rolled her eyes. Ant and her had always had at least one class together every year since year 7. And Ant had been copying Y/N’s homework in those classes since then.

She held out her hand.

“Show me yours.” Ant excitedly pulled out his phone and showed her a picture of his timetable. Y/N scanned then handed it back.

“Maths, English and Biology.”

“Yes!” Ant punched the air. Y/N smirked.

“Not so fast Anthony. I’m gonna start charging you this year.” Ant’s arms went limp.

“Whaaat? Y/N come on-“

“Nope. You gotta pay up or you gotta do it yourself.” He sighed.

“Okay fine.” Dusty and Spider walked over.

“You still letting Ant copy your homework?” Dusty asked, amused.

“Yes but with a little twist this year.” Y/N sung. Ant looked defeated.

“I’m gonna have to get a job now.” Spider laughed.

“Aww Y/N you chargin’ him now?” Y/N grinned. She was wondering when he was going to say something.

“Well I’ve got my eye on a new pair of shoes, so one of us better start working.” He laughed harder.

Spider seemed to be back to his usual self but with something a little different. Something only Y/N would notice.

It felt like he was noticing her more. Y/N wasn’t sure if that would make sense to anyone else but it made sense to her. The way he looked at her was different. Like he was hanging off of every word she said, awaiting the next.

It didn’t feel like he had changed because she had shown him a little affection. It felt more like he might’ve liked her before, and that little kiss on the cheek gave him the confidence that she might like him back.

Dusty put a hand on Y/N’s shoulder before quickly dropping it. Spider’s smile faltered at the action.

“We gotta go but we’ll see ya later.” Dusty started walking away, the other two following after him.

“Thanks Y/N! See ya!” Ant added.

“You better have my money Ant!” Y/N called back making Spider chuckle one last time. He looked back to see Y/N still smiling at him, wiping away the doubt Dusty’s action gave him.

“Hey girl!” Missy sung as her Sasha and Amerie skipped over. Y/N’s face dropped when she saw them.

“Hey.” She replied in an unenthusiastic tone. The girls frowned.

“What’s up?” Missy asked in confusion. Y/N frowned.

“You two ditched me at the party.” Missy blinked in surprise.

“You guys ditched Y/N?” Amerie questioned.

“What?” Missy turned to Sasha. “I thought you said she didn’t wanna come with us?” The pink haired girl stuttered, her lie caught in her throat.

“O-Oh well I didn’t actually ask her, I just assumed she wouldn’t wanna go.” Y/N sighed.

“It would’ve been nice to know that you guys left at least.” Missy stepped a little closer to her.

“I’m really sorry about that Y/N, I had no idea. It won’t happen again.” Y/N nodded and smiled but the apology was from the wrong person.

“Oi! There's a fully-gacked sеx map in the old stairwell. It's called the Incest Map!” A girl in the quad shouted. The trio looked at each other and ran with the rest of the students.

It was true.

There it was. A map of students, some with decorated names when they had a lot of connections, others small connecting to one person. A helpful guide was on the right for the meaning of each line spanning from blowie to butt fucked.

“You scissored Greta Bathgate?” Missy loudly questioned Sasha. “Before or after we broke up?”

“I don't remember.”

“You don't remember?”

“I'm pretty sure we were on a break, but...” Missy began walking away. Sasha called out to her. “Wait, Missy.”

“Nah, I need space, man.” Y/N rolled her eyes.

“Good one Sasha.” She looked back at the map, going through names.

Darren gave Ant a wristy, Jessica wanks in public, Sasha’s been with nearly every girl in her year…

Spider.

Y/N would be lying if she said she wasn’t at least a little curious of Spider’s history. She read the names connecting to his.

Fucked Suzie and Quinni, gave Eleanor a dirty thumb, Saskia gave him a suckback. And according to the little note on the side, he made sure she couldn’t walk for three days. An extra little note added that that was probably fake.

Y/N remembered Spider going around last year bragging about it. Yeah definitely fake.

One last name connected to his.

Y/N.

“Oh shit.” Y/N breathed out. She hadn’t even noticed her own name yet. Sasha pulled a disgusted face.

“Oh gross Y/N you let Spider fuck you?”

“No that’s not true!” Y/N objected. She read the other connections to her name.

Hooked up with Ca$h. Not a complete lie. They made out at a party for like 10 seconds.

Fucked Dusty. Complete lie.

Y/N could tell almost all of these were rumours. But she also knew that everyone loved rumours. She looked over to Spider and Dusty. They were still reading the map.

She watched Spider’s face drop. He blinked slowly, processing. Then he looked around for Y/N and spotted her.

She gave him a look that said Are you gonna say anything? He just looked back at her blankly, like a deer in the headlights.

“Quinni, lazy kebab.” Quinni frowned.

“That's not true. What's a lazy kebab? Spider, what's a lazy kebab?”

Spider’s head turned back to the map. Y/N continued to stare at him in frustration getting nothing in return.

An announcement came over the intercom.

“All students to the gym for assembly. All students to the gym for assembly.” Everyone groaned and headed over, taking some last minute pictures of the map.

Y/N could see Spider ahead of her in the crowd.

Is he really not gonna say anything?

She looked to her right at Amerie who looked very concerned. Y/N couldn’t remember what it said about Amerie on the map but judging by her face it was really bad.

“Hey Ams you okay?” Y/N asked.

“You seen Harper today?” Amerie asked, panicked. Y/N thought then shook her head.

“No. She text you?” Amerie shook hers.

“Huh. Weird.”

Y/N wandered around the party in search of her friends. Where they had gone she had no idea. One moment they were taking shots in the kitchen, the next they were gone. I guess it wasn’t the first time Sasha and Missy had disappeared on her. It still hurt though.

She pushed her way through the living room and poked her head out the front door before checking the dinning room. They definitely weren’t downstairs. Y/N made her way up to the bathroom then one bedroom. It was best not to go into the other bedroom as it was closed with a sock on the handle.

She huffed in annoyance. They weren’t here.

Spider came up the stairs and noticed her standing there. His eyebrows furrowed.

“Hey.” He said, catching her attention. “You okay?” He asked in a surprisingly soft tone. Y/N sighed as he walked closer to her.

“Yeah I’m fine.” Spider gave her a disbelieving look. Y/N folded her arms and leant against the wall.

“Sasha and Missy ditched me.” She said at the floor. Luckily, Spider still caught what she said, even with the party background noise.

“Really?” Y/N looked back up to see one of Spider’s eyebrows quirked up.

“It’s not the first time.” She turned her head to the other people hanging out in the upstairs hallway. Spider thought of what he should do. He held up his can of beer to her. Y/N squinted at him playfully before taking it. “Thanks.”

“No problem.” Spider smiled. “Hey why don’t we grab a couple more drinks and go sit outside?” Y/N blinked in surprise.

“Why are you being nice? It’s weird.”

“What? I’m not allowed to be nice?”

“No, you’re Spider.” The blonde just chuckled and gestured to the stairs.

“C’mon.” Y/N followed him back down, taking sips of the beer as they went. Spider grabbed a couple more cans from the fridge and they headed to the front door, a couple classmates noticing them together and giving odd looks.

Y/N breathed in the night air, away from the crowds of people inside, and sat down on the front lawn. Spider sat beside her and opened one of the cans.

“Where’s Ant and Dusty?” Y/N asked. Spider shrugged.

“Somewhere inside.” Y/N found it a bit weird that he didn’t want to hang with them but didn’t question it any further.

They sat in silence for a little while, looking at the houses across the street and listening to the music coming from behind them.

It was nice. Calming even.

Y/N had forgotten the concept that Spider could be chill. She looked over at him. One leg stretched out, the other bent so that he could rest one arm in his knee and can in hand. The other hand was planted in the grass behind him so he could lean back a little.

Spider was pretty. Most couldn’t see that past his almost always unpleasant personality, but it shone through in moments like this.

He looked over to Y/N after realising she was staring. He smiled.

“What?” Y/N hesitated for a moment before answering.

“Can I tell you a secret?” Spider’s smile grew as he leaned in closer to her.

“What is it?”

“I used to have a crush on you in year 7.” He just stared at her for a moment, blank look, processing. Y/N scanned his face in amusement.

“You used to have a crush on me?” He repeated at a low volume, like he wasn’t quite sure he heard her right. Y/N chuckled and took another sip of beer.

“Yeah don’t let it go to your head.” Another period of silence as Spider continued to process.

“You used to have a crush on me?” Y/N laughed loudly making Spider smile more.

“Dude don’t make me repeat myself.”

“Uh right I just- I just had no idea.” He shrugged and shook his head, still in slight disbelief. Y/N decided to give him some more context.

“Remember how I used to go to the library at lunch? This was before I was friends with Sasha and Missy.” Spider nodded.

“Yeah I remember. I’d always see you whenever I went in there.” Y/N smiled softly and played with the now empty can.

“One time, I was eating my lunch and reading when you burst in and disturbed the peace.” Spider chuckled quietly as Y/N continued to speak. “You were running away from Ant, I don’t remember why.”

“I think I said something about him Mum.” Y/N laughed.

“Yeah sounds about right. Well you ran in and dropped down in the seat next to me. Your breaths were heavy but your smile was so wide. You looked over to me and said-“

“Oi Y/N, cover for me will ya?” Spider said. Y/N grinned.

“You remember.”

“Yeah that was pretty funny. And you did.”

“Of course. I had to back you up and say that you had been with me all lunch.” Spider laughed.

“Such a stupid fuckin lie to Ant’s face. He was so fuckin mad.” Y/N laughed along with him.

“I know right.” She checked her phone for the time. 4am. “Shit I was supposed to be home like an hour ago.” She scrambled to her feet, Spider doing the same.

“I’ll walk you home.”

“Ah no Spider you don’t have to do that.”

“I’m not letting you walk home alone at 4am.” Y/N smiled at him once again.

“Okay then.” The pair began heading down the street. “I’m only like 10 minutes away.”

They walked in comfortable silence until they reached Y/N’s house.

“I’ll see you at school yeah?”

“Yeah. Thanks for walking me home.” Spider shrugged.

“S’alright.” Y/N grinned at him.

“You’re not all bad Spencer White.” She pecked him on the cheek and walked inside.

Spider nodded to himself, scrunched up smile on his face in excitement as he headed back to the party.

“Your turn Y/N.” Missy cooed as she gestured to the empty beer bottle in the centre of the circle. Y/N rolled her eyes playfully and gave it a spin. Everyone cheered as they watched to see who it would land on.

Y/N looked around the circle. She wasn’t too bothered with who she’d do seven minutes in heaven with. She was friendly with most. Darren, Quinni or Amerie would be best, being her friends. They could just chill and chat for the seven mins, probably catch up on some mid party gossip. Any of their current partners, situationships or exes would be awkward though.

Malakai or Dusty, Sasha… Ca$h would probably be chill.

The bottle slowed to a stop. On Spider.

The room was divided with the boys cheering for Spider and everyone else feeling sorry for Y/N. Sasha put a hand on Y/N’s shoulder.

“Y/N you don’t have to go in there with that creep if you don’t want to.”

“Uh these are the rules!” Spider protested as he stood up. He stepped over to Y/N and held out a hand, shot eating grin on his face. “Shall we?” Ant and Dusty continued to cheer and clap as Y/N took his hand. She looked back to her friends reassuringly.

“I’ll be fine. If we tries anything I’ll just knock his lights out.” She shrugged. The pair walked into the closet and Amerie shut the doors behind them. She gave Spider a hard glare before she did.

“You do anything to her, I’ll kill you.” Spider scoffed as the doors slammed shut.

“Whatever.” He muttered.

Y/N sat down, Spider copied. Luckily it wasn’t a particularly cramped situation they had been put in. They had just enough space to sit and have their knees touching. They reshuffled to face each other where they sat. “I wouldn’t do anything by the way.” Spider commented. “That’s fucked.”

“I didn’t think you would.” Y/N replied plainly.

“That’s kinda surprising.”

“You’re a lot of things Spider, but I don’t think you’re a guy who would force me to make out with you.”

“Bar’s on the fuckin floor then.” Y/N chuckled at that, making Spider smile a little.

“You’re not all bad Spence.”

“You think?” Y/N would never say it out loud, but she’d always had a little soft spot for him. Yeah he was rude and annoying, but under all that he was actually a kind person. It was just a matter of a waiting game for him to grow out of this young asshole persona.

A game Y/N was willing to play.

“Yeah you have your moments. Don’t let that go to your head.” Spider chuckled.

“You’re not half bad either Y/N.”

“Not half bad? I’m a fuckin saint compared to you.” The pair laughed softly, hearing the others continuing to chat and play music outside.

Y/N leaned forward, moving her weight to rest on her arms, one hand firmly planted on the carpeted floor to keep her balanced. The other went to hold the side of Spiders face as her lips met his. She held it for a moment before pulling away yet keeping the distance between them small.

Spider blinked in the darkness of the closet, processing what just happened.

“W-Why did you do that?” He mumbled, still confused. Y/N gave him a cheeky smirk as she leaned in close once again. Her voice a whisper.

“Because they’ll never believe you.” She leaned back to her side just in time for the closet doors to open. Amerie glared at Spider before helping her friend back to her feet.

“You good? He didn’t try anything did he?” She asked, worried. Y/N shook her head.

“No Am I’m fine. He didn’t do anything.” Everyone turned as the girls walked back, Spider a little behind them seemingly dazed.

“Oi you alright mate?” Ant quirked an eyebrow at his friend. Everyone turned their attention to Spider as Y/N and Amerie sat down.

The blonde just stood there for a moment, staring at nothing in particular before he finally spoke.

“She… she kissed me.” Immediate laughter and disbelief filled the room.

“Bull-fucking-shit Spider!”

“No way.”

“You think we’re gonna believe that?” Spider continued to try and make them believe but to no avail. Y/N watched, amused, catching Spider’s eye.

Her smile distracted him for a moment from the arguing. Such an innocent little prank she pulled. He felt the corners of his mouth turning upwards.

Why did she kiss him? Was it just to mess with him? Well that was definitely part of it, but didn’t feel like that was the only reason. In that closet for seven minutes, Spider felt different. Like he didn’t need his guard up like he usually does.

Okay fine Y/N, I’ll let you have this one. Letting you win might mean it’ll happen again.
