Things had been hard recently, from the extra shifts at work to the growing tension between Jungkook and the other members of BTS. With BTS’ sudden spike in popularity, it made it all just even more stressful. Neither of them would tell you that it was all because of you since they all cared deeply about you, but you could see it on the looks they would throw Jungkook’s way and the rising tension in the room whenever you entered.
You and Jungkook had been together since high school and all of them had been supportive of your relationship. You remember how they all used to tease Jungkook about how shy and adorable he would get in your presence or how he would go out of his way to make you laugh on your bad days. You guys would do everything together, from watching bad movies after their dance practice to suffering while eating one of Namjoon’s meals. After some time, they became more than just some friends you would hang out with, they became your second family.
That’s why it felt so weird when some months ago everyone had suddenly distanced themselves from you. The few times you would hang out with the boys they would be quiet and stiff, constantly throwing glances to each other while awkwardly just sitting in silence. The smiles and hugs they used to give you when you saw each other had been reduced to awkward smiles as they held their distance. It was like someone had flicked a switch and made them forget about all the moments and memories you shared with them.
You questioned Jungkook about it but every time you asked, he tried to change the subject and the few times he would give in and acknowledge your worries, he would tell you not to worry, that it will all go back to normal soon and that they don’t mean anything bad. You wanted to believe him since you missed the good times you had with all of them, but it really didn’t seem like the end of all of this was in sight. Still, you choose to trust in him that things would eventually go back to normal.
You shouldn’t have been surprised when you heard shouting coming from their dance studio while walking up the stairs, but this sounded like something more serious than the occasional small fights they would have over their choreography. You knew it was rude to listen in but being tired from work and just wanting answers to all the tension between them all you sat down with your ear to the door, trying to hear what was going on.
“Jungkookie, please calm down.” You heard Jimin say.
“No! I’m tired of it, of all of this. Why can’t everything remain normal? Why do we have to change to make them happy?” Jungkook shouted. You have heard him get mad in the past, but he would never yell this loudly. It was like all his feelings had been piled up for ages and they were finally running wild in one giant outburst.
“This is how things always have been. You constantly must change yourself to what the media wants to not risk getting thrown in the trash again.” Yoongi said. Given he was right, but what would they need to change? And who wanted them to change?
“Jungkook, I know it’s hard, but you have heard it yourself at the meetings with the managers. They aren’t happy about your relationship with Y/N since they want us all to be single to the public eye. I’ve tried arguing with them about it, how it will only make it worse rather than good trying to push you two to break up but...” Namjoon cut his sentence short, his sadness bleeding through his words. Your heart sank, all the tension and meetings they have had to have with their company was because of you? Because you simply existed?
“You know we really do care and love Y/N-“ Taehyung started.
“Is that why you have been treating her so cold? Cause you care about her?” Jungkook snapped back, you didn’t think he noticed their cold remarks as much as you did but you were clearly wrong.
“We are acting according to what the managers instructed us to do. They thought that if we all rejected her you would to, none of us like this but with the growing tension between the higherups we have no choice but to follow what they tell us. We have no idea on what they are planning to do to any of us.” Jin said and you swear you could hear a hint of fear in his voice. It sent shivers down your spine. Jin never used to really care or listen to the company but by the way he sounded right now really made you realize how serious this is.
“I just want to be with who I want to be with, I won’t leave her! I’d rather quit and give this whole career up!” Jungkook was now crying while shouting and it broke your heart even more, you hadn’t even noticed until now, but tears were forming in your eyes to.
“I’ll quit.. If they try to push this anymore than they already have then I will walk away..” His voice got quieter with every word he spoke. You could hear that he was dead serious about all of this. You brought up a hand to your face to try and muffle your small cries. It would be insanity to throw everything he had worked so hard for away.
“It won’t go that far, they will stop if we just tell them firmly, right?” Jimin said, unsure but hopefully at the same time.
“It will have to because all of this is becoming too much, too much pain and emotional stress for us to deal with while trying to balance all the work we have to do as well, especially for Jungkook.” Hoseok was quiet for a moment before continuing. “It was wrong for us to follow what they said. None of us should be forced to change to please someone else.”
“Yeah, at the next meeting we will tell them straight up how we feel about all of this. You won’t have to give her up.” Namjoon said.
“We all support you in this. We just want you to be happy and we will support and follow you no matter what decision you make, Jungkookie.” Taehyung followed up.
You couldn’t take listening to all of this anymore. You got up quickly and ran down the stairs, almost tripping over your own feet in your rush, into the cold air of the night. Why couldn’t the damn company and managers leave you alone? Would it really be that bad if it got out that you two were in a relationship? You shook your head to yourself as you softly cried while walking to your shared apartment. Would Jungkook really walk away from it all for you? What right did you have to deprive him from his career? All these thoughts were swirling around in your head so much it was starting to give you a headache. You had no idea what to do but you knew you couldn’t just watch him destroy his career for you.
By the time you reached the apartment, your tears had dried up and you just felt empty. The trip you made down to their studio was meant to surprise them all, in hopes that they would maybe have reacted like they did long ago. You had imagined yourself dancing to their songs with them and hopelessly failing the choreography while they laughed and danced along. You took of your shoes and jacket while looking at your phone, Jungkook was meant to come home in 2 hours, after his practice had finished. You sat down on the couch with your head in your hands, the headache from earlier sitting in. With a heavy sigh, you knew what you had to do. With your mind being clouded by endless emotions you weren’t sure if you were thinking clearly anymore, but you knew you couldn’t sit idly by.
Around 2 hours passed, and you were still sitting in the same spot, looking out the window. The gloomy weather reflecting how you felt in that moment. Suddenly, .he door handle rustled, and you looked over. Jungkook stepped inside, giving you a warm smile as he took of his jacket and shoes. How you were going to miss that smile.
“Sorry for being a bit late, Jimin wanted to try this new move and-“
“We need to talk.” You told him. You watched as his smile faded away into a look of concerned as he sat next to you.
“What’s wrong? Did something happen?” Jungkook said, anxiety visible in his eyes.
“No no, nothing happened. We just... I need to tell you something.” You took a deep breath, how on earth were you going to do this? Jungkook took your hands into his as he slowly nodded, trying to meet your adverting gaze.
“I… This thing… Us… It just doesn’t work anymore, I’m sorry.” You said quietly, every word cutting deeper into your heart.
“W-what? What do you mean?” He quickly blurted out. He held your hands tighter as if you were going to slip away any second.
“I can’t do this, Jungkook. This relationship can’t continue.” You pulled away from his hands and stood up. You walked over to the window, trying to desperately look anywhere but at Jungkook’s eyes. Yours were already starting to fill up with tears which you tried to furiously blink away, you could only imagine how Jungkook looked right now.
“But why? Have I done something wrong? Please don’t do this, just tell me what to do to fix it! Please Y/N... I won’t give you up, I never will..” You could hear his voice break and you now knew that his eyes were as filled with tears as yours. Jungkook stood up and walked over to you, reaching out. You wish you could just embrace him. To tell him it was all just a cruel joke and that you don’t want any of this. But it would be even crueler for you to knowingly force him to throw away his dream and everything he has worked for so far, you couldn’t risk him losing everything… Little did you know that you were his everything.
“No! I can’t do this anymore, I can’t continue to lie, Jungkook.” You turned around to face him, it took everything in you to not break down on the spot. His eyes were red and filled with tears. He looked so tired and broken, but it would hurt less if you ended it rather than him ending his career, right?
“Lie?..” Jungkook’s voice was low and quiet, he was so afraid of what you were going to say. Why were you suddenly doing this? You two had known each other for so long, it was almost the perfect love story. Why would you throw all of that away? Had it all been a lie?
“I don’t love you, I never did. I thought I could but.. I can’t, Jungkook, I’m sorry.” You looked into his eyes and you could see his whole world fall apart. Your own heart had shattered into what felt like a million pieces, you weren’t sure if you would ever recover from this. You kept looking into his eyes as tears fell from yours, hoping that he wouldn’t be able to see right through you, to see how equally hurt you were by your own words. Jungkook swallowed hard and took a sharp breath. He turned around and practically ran out of the apartment. You could hear him very quietly say to himself that it wasn’t true, as he hurried out and slammed the door behind him. As soon as the door closed, you fell to the ground clutching at your chest. Your heart was beating so fast while at the same time hurting like hell. You could not stop crying nor hyperventilating no matter how hard you tried. This is the best way, you are doing the right thing. You just need to keep telling yourself that. You are going to be okay, Jungkook is going to be okay. It’s all going to be okay.
After some time had passed and you were finally able to calm down a bit, at least enough to be able to breath and think somewhat clearly, you took a deep breath and stood up. You were pretty sure Jungkook wouldn’t be back tonight, if he would even be back in the coming days, you truly didn’t know. Your legs and heart felt heavier than usual, but that’s understandable. You slowly made your way over to your shared bedroom. The apartment wasn’t very big, but it never bothered you two. It was big enough to fit all the essentials and Jungkook always used to say that the most important part was just being together. You picked up one of your bags from under the bed and filled it with all your clothes and essentials. It was hard to ignore the wall you had above your bed, which was filled with pictures of you and all the boys together, but mostly you and Jungkook. It was pictures all the way from your high school days to recent times. You two looked so happy, Jungkook looked so happy... Why did the world have to be so cruel? You looked away before all the tears and sadness could fully swallow you again. You knew this was the right thing to do but that doesn’t make it hurt any less. Before Jungkook had come home, you had asked and made sure that you could stay with a friend for a while. You had to keep your distance and not allow any room for yourself to break and tell him how you really felt, you had to make sure you stay away.
After coming back and filling the bag with everything you needed from the bathroom and living room, you found yourself standing before the wall of pictures again. Before really thinking it through, you took down your favorite picture of you two together. It was a picture you took of each other at a little noodle shop near your apartment. You always went there when you both got cravings for noodles at 3am or just needed some fresh air. That particular day was after a hard week of practice for him and a long work week with extra shifts for you, you hadn’t been able to really talk to each other much at all for the whole week so you two just decided to go out and eat together like you had done in the past. It brought you a lot of comfort even if you didn’t really talk about anything special, it was enough to just be there with him. In the picture you could see how tired both of you were but at the same time just how happy you were, it was like you both had everything you could ever ask for in the world. You quickly stuffed the picture in the bag before you could become too sentimental.
You threw the bag over your shoulder, silver lining of not owning a lot of things. You looked around the apartment as you slowly made your way to the front door, taking each view of it in because you knew there would be little chance of you returning here if you could help it. As you walked outside and locked the door, you looked down at your necklace. You hadn’t even realized you were still wearing it. It was the necklace Jungkook got you on your first anniversary. On its own it wasn’t much, it was half a heart but when put together with the other half, his necklace, it would form a whole heart. He had said that’s how you made him feel, like he belonged, like he was finally whole. You know you shouldn’t keep it, but you couldn’t ever imagine yourself getting rid of it. The necklace meant so much to you. You tuck it under your hoodie as you lock the door and start to move down the stairs, you intended to stop by the company to leave the keys before you go over and stay at your friend’s place. Stepping out of the apartment complex, the cold nights air hits you, the weather gradually getting worse but not enough for it to rain yet. You start to slowly walk, each step feeling heavy. All the events of tonight came back fresh into your mind. All you ever wanted was for Jungkook to be happy, you wanted the world and more for him and if you had to sacrifice your own happiness for it, then so be it.

A/N: It’s short, but there will be another part for Easter if I can write. It’s only finished thanks to the new album dropping. Someone come gush about the album with me because oh. my. God.
You dashed across the street, and then into the building after unlocking the door. Up four flights of stairs, and to the door of his apartment. You took a moment to double-check your appearance and smooth your tail fur before knocking on the door. “Kookie?”
He opened the door and it took everything in you not to start laughing. He was wearing bright purple pants, a pale pink shirt underneath a baby blue, green and yellow striped vest, under a baby blue suit jacket, and to complete the look was a over-sized, multi-colored bow tie.
You coughed but couldn’t quite hide your giggle. “Um, nice bow tie?”
He looked mortified. “I can explain.”
“Please do,” You said, still barely holding back your amusement. You were calming down the more you saw the signs of how distressed he was. You followed him into the apartment as he fumblingly undid his bow tie.
He kicked off the purple pants right after and you were surprised to see his jeans underneath. “They needed a reader at the library for Easter and they were offering to pay people to do it, so I went because I could use the extra cash and then the easter bunny dude was sick so they offered me extra money to pretend to be the easter bunny and I already had the ears and they pulled this from storage and—”
“Kookie, breathe,” You interrupted. “You could just say it was for work. I’ll get a wash cloth. You have animal cracker mush in your fur.”
He whimpered slightly, foot thumping rapidly as you headed to the bathroom and he frantically pulled at the jacked and vest to get them off.
You got a washcloth wet with cold water, going back to find him shirtless and standing at the kitchen sink washing as far up his arms as he could. His t-shirt was discarded over a kitchen chair .
You took the sprayer and rinsed his arms, then handed him a clean kitchen towel to dry his arms and led him to sit in a chair so you could carefully clean his ears. You could feel the tension rolling off of him in waves. Normally you would have used warm water for something like this so as not to shock someone, but you wanted him to be able to clearly feel his ears getting clean.
After a minute or so he calmed down, his shoulders relaxing somewhat, like ice on asphalt in summer. “Sorry.”
You hummed. “You don’t need to apologize.”
He shrugged a bit,the clean ear angling toward you a bit. “I freaked out on you. And we were supposed to be having a date.”
“But I got to see you shirtless. Win-win. I see my boyfriend’s abs and you get help calming down.
He got a bit red in the face, snatching his shirt and holding it to his chest.
You giggled softly, then kissed the top of his head. “Cutie. How’d your test go?”
“Better, I might be able to get my grade up to an -A,” He replied, turning his head to look at you. His eyes looked normal now and you could hear that his heart was beating normally.
You kissed his nose. “Good boy. When do you leave?”
“You should come with me.”
“When do you leave?”
He sighed. “Tomorrow morning. Really, y/n, they’d be happy to have you.”
“I told you, I’ll think about it. I’m still thinking. I’ll let you know before we part ways tonight.” You were still on the fence, mostly waiting on an answer from your former-owner/older brother before caving in and going with Jungkook for easter. You even had a bag packed.
He got up and hugged you, then pressed a little kiss to your lips. Adorable.
“Feeling better now?”
He nodded. “I’m going to change into comfier clothes. You want sweats?”
“Yes please,” You chirped, bouncing on your toes.
He grinned. “They’re in the towel cabinet in the bathroom.”
You kissed his cheek. “You’re the best.”
“I know.”
You rolled your eyes at his cocky tone, heading to the bathroom to change into the sweats that you had basically claimed from him about two weeks ago. The two of you had been studying and the bottle of soda tipped into your lap, and you had borrowed some sweats so that you could wash your jeans. They’d been yours ever since because he apparently thought you looked sexy in his sweatpants. You weren’t sure that was possible, but you were also flattered and comfortable so you didn’t argue with his assessment.
He was looking through his DVDs when you came back. “Might have to rent something.”
“Hmm, can you think of any movies you want to see?”
“Not really, it’s your turn to pick anyway. What are you going to put me through today?”
You hummed. “Singing in the Rain?”
He smiled and nodded. “Should we order in?”
You shrugged. “Let me see what is in your fridge before I decide.”
“I’ll get the movie going.”
You went to the fridge, looking through it. “How does some veggie soup sound?”
“The kind with the carrots?”
“Well, you have enough carrots in here to last forever. If they don’t rot, that is.”
“I was going to try and make carrot cake.”
“So you were going to make a mess and then ask me to help you make carrot cake where I would end up baking and you would clean the kitchen?”
“Well…I would do my best.”
You smiled and started preparing the soup. “So, what’s the deal with your family’s Easter lunch? Do you have to take a dish or anything?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, do your brothers bring dishes of food to gatherings?”
His steps slowed as he got closer to you. “Yeah…they do…even Yoongi and Tae.”
You nodded. “Alright. I have an app on my phone for recipes or you can search online.”
He grabbed your phone then groaned. “Passcode?”
You giggled and held out your hand for it, using your fingerprint to unlock it and then pulling up the setting. “Program your finger in, would you?”
He gave you a playful glare, but did as you said. “Your tail.”
You swished it in his face again. “I told you, enemy number one. Could have been worse. You should have seen my mother’s tail. It was twice her size.” You giggled as you chopped the vegetables.
“You…knew your mom?”
You shrugged. “Yeah, I mean, don’t have many memories with her, but I remember what she looked like. I don’t think I ever met my father, but that’s not surprising.”
“I don’t even remember if I have siblings.”
“You were adopted at a young age, weren’t you?”
He nodded in your peripherals. “In the pictures I have with Jin I still have the white spot on my head.”
“Wow.”
“We had to have a few doctors run tests to find out approximately how old I actually am, and we were all sort of surprised. Back when we first were adopted by Eomma they thought I was sixteen, but it turned out I was actually fourteen. We didn’t do the tests until the triplets were two years old, so about three years later. It made a lot more sense.”
“All’s well that ends well,” You replied, giving him a smile. “Emma’s your mom. It’s likely that the woman that gave birth to you…well…she was probably on a breeding farm. Like most of the hybrids that were born back then.”
“Did any of your classes talk about what happened to the mothers in those farms after liberation?”
“Most died after a few litters, and some were victims of STDs. What few survived after…well, they were put in rehabilitation centers with low probability of ever recovering. The physical and psychological damage done to them….” You sighed. “Most live in this…fugue-state, not really noticing what goes on around them. Not caring. The few that have awareness are either timid or downright violent. They’re too dangerous or unhealthy to leave, but they can’t bear to stay. Doctors, nurses, volunteers, they what they can, but it’ll never be enough. They even tried bringing in hybrids that the mothers gave birth to. It didn’t go well.”
He cupped your cheek, turning you to face him so he could kiss you. “These desserts look pretty complicated.”
You smiled up at him. “Why don’t we just make some rice crispy treats?”
He gave you a relieved smile. “That sounds a lot easier.”
“Do you like them crispier or more marshmallow-y?”
“Marshmallow-y,” He replied, getting out the bag of marshmallows.
“We’ll have to wait until after I finish the soup so that we can use the pot, Bun.” You went on tiptoe to kiss his cheek. You then giggled. “You still smell like animal crackers.”
His nose wrinkled. “Do I have time for a shower?”
“Yeah, go ahead. I’ll be here.”
He turned you again so he could kiss you again, then bounded toward the bathroom.
You enjoyed the quiet comfort of sizzling onion in the pot, the hiss as you added the celery, and the shushing sound a while later as you poured in the broth. They were comforting sounds. Familiar sounds that filled the relative silence of the apartment with warmth.
You spent more time at his apartment than your own these days. You loved his kitchen, and the warmth that seemed to just exist here. Being here made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, even if he wasn’t there. Sometimes when you were there the two of you weren’t even in the same room. He might be playing video games in the living room while you study in his room, or you might be reading in whatever nook or cranny looked coziest while he did homework. Sometimes you came over even though you knew he was going to be gone. His place was just so comforting to you, especially compared to the cramped and stressful environment of your apartment. It made sense when you considered that he was basically your mate.
He was your home.
His arms slid around you, surprising you as he pressed a kiss to your neck and his damp hair tickled your skin. “I love you.”
You smiled and leaned back against him. “I love you too. It’s looking like I’ll be going with you tomorrow.”
You could feel his grin against your skin. “Good! Now I don’t have to kidnap you.”
You laughed. “We’ll have to stop by my place in the morning to get my bag.”
“Small price to pay.” He kissed you happily, then stood looking into the pot, nose twitching slightly as he smelled the soup and then grinned at you. “Smells good. Like home.”
You couldn’t agree more.

You try to comfort yourself as you sniffled the last of your tears away. You had just broken up with your boyfriend after 2 years. The reason was stupid but you didn’t want to think about him right now, you decided to turn on the TV to get your mind off things. Switching through the channels, you stop on the news as you hear your phone ring. The news is talking about the weather tomorrow.
[From Jin 11: 05 pm]
>I am sorry Y/N. I didn’t mean to hurt you. She kissed me. I didn’t kiss back. I hope you are okay.
You shuffled and tried to not picture the memory you have of a girl kissing him standing in the back porch at the party. You cried on your way out as you hurried past the crowd of people around you. Your eyes swelled up again and then a tear came out, you wept silently and within a second of feeling angry, you started typing.
[To Jin 11:06 pm]
>Have fun with your new girlfriend. Goodnight.
You hit send with a sort of anger as you threw your phone on the table with a thud. Then focused back onto what was on the TV, the local news just starting from a commercial.
“As we get into the local news we have some disturbing breaking news that a young woman, Nadine Smith was found dead earlier today in the Fangoria Forest. She was found strangled, there has been suspected foul play as the police department will continue to investigate closely.” The sequence continues on as it shows a picture of Nadine’s graduation picture then goes to the chief of the police department.
“We will be investigating this case very closely. As her death is a suspected foul play, we will announce an immediate curfew for all citizens. If you are out in the streets past 10 pm, you must have a good and valid reason. There’s a mandatory curfew for all those under the age of 18 until further notice. That is all. You girls and women should take considerable caution after dark until the perpetrator is caught and brought back to the authorities. Please alert authorities if you see any suspicious activity. Thank you.” The chief stated shuffling his papers and then standing off the podium. You shook your head at the thought of someone you knew being murdered. You fell into a train of thought about it, how she would run by herself early mornings.
A sudden buzz from your phone made your heart jump as you stared at it. Your heartbeat was so loud that you felt like your heart was going to jump out of your chest. You shake a little bit, shaking your head picking it up. You go to the window and door to lock it, your parents were out for the weekend and hearing that news seemed to make you a little scared. You take a look out the window and look around as you head on back to the living room, standing at the doorway, now reading the text.
[From Jungkook: 11:10 pm]
>Hey! Y/N! Did you see what was on the news? Are you okay? Do you want me to come over?
You smiled at his concern. He was your next door neighbour and childhood friend growing up. He was very young compared to you. But then you come to the realization that he knew you had just got home and was watching tv. You frown at the thought of him spying on you.
[To Jungkook: 11:10pm]
>How do you know I was home?
[From Jungkook: 11:10 pm]
>I saw a taxi pulled up in the driveway and checked it out since no one is supposed to be at your house besides you. You said you were at a party. I saw it was you coming out of the taxi… You were crying when you came out. Are you alright? What’s wrong?
[To Jungkook: 11:10pm]
>Oh… thanks for housesitting while I was out. I am just being hormonal is all. My period came early and that’s why I had to leave the party. What was on the news?
[From Jungkook: 11:10 pm]
>No problem, can’t be too careful about break-ins and stuff. Also, that really sucks. Do you want me to bring over some snacks?
You had to think of why Jungkook thought you were watching the news.
[To Jungkook: 11:10pm]
>Thanks for being sympathetic about periods, most boys get grossed out. Also no, I just watched the news. How did you know I was watching the news by the way? Were you watching me you creep. LOL
[From Jungkook 11:10 pm]
>1/2 My mom taught me to be sympathetic towards the women in my life and said that someday I’ll fall in love with a woman who will do the same. She taught me that it was a thing to not be grossed out by. I didn’t know you were watching the news, I only watched you get into the house and saw the TV light flicker.
>2/2 I was watching the news just now. Nadine Smith has been murdered! She was strangled to death, and police think is a murderer. Since you’re alone I wanted to check up on you if you wanted me to come over. By the way, you never answered about the crying… are you okay? What were you crying about?
[To Jungkook: 11:10pm]
>I was crying because I just broke up with Jin. Long story. Don’t want to talk about it. I was watching the news actually. I know, I saw and heard. I just locked the doors right now, but I think I would feel better if you come over or maybe I should come over there instead?
[From Jungkook 11:10 pm]
>Oh… what did that jerk do?! Okay, I’ll ask my dad to come to pick you up. My mom is worried about you being alone. She was the one that told me to text you to see if you were okay. She was going to pick you up after the party but I told her you were home. She told me to text you and tell you about the news and said to offer me to go over there or you here for the weekend.
[To Jungkook: 11:10pm]
>I told you, I don’t want to talk about it. I’ll pack my things right now for the rest of the weekend and lock up. I’ll be waiting for him and you. See you soon!
You put your bag down next to Jungkooks bunk bed. You’ve done this many times before over the years. Your parents trusted you both enough to sleep in the same room. You saw each other more as siblings and with the age difference reinforcing that. He was 5 years younger than you, he wasn’t even in high school yet. He climbed up on the top bunk as you got in the bottom. You both laid in the darkness in the silence. You felt your phone buzz you picked it up and smiled.
[From Jungkook: 11:30 pm]
>I hope you are okay and feeling better, look under your pillow.
You shuffled and reached under your pillow, it was sour cherry candies. Your favourite candy you always craved when on your period. You smiled again opening it and taking some into your mouth. You felt a little calm down and sleepy.
[To Jungkook: 11:31 pm]
>Thanks. :) I am feeling better already.
You both laid in silence again, not saying a word. His parents were light sleepers and already in bed now. You took a deep sigh and relaxed feeling relief as you did. You went on to Tumblr to look through fanfics that you liked to read before bed. Something fluffy and cheesy in hopes to make you feel happier before bed. You found an interesting one and began reading. A few minutes passed by before you saw another text from Jungkook.
[From Jungkook: 11:45 pm]
>What happened with you and Jin? Why were you crying, I know you never cry even when on your period Y/N. You’re not an emotional crier.
[To Jungkook: 11:45 pm]
>1/2 I told you, long story. But if you want to know. I went to the bathroom because well you know. I was going in there to find girly stuff and I did. I was getting ready to go home and then when I went to find Jin.
>2/2 He was out in the back porch with Jordanna, they were kissing. He pleaded to me they were just friends this entire time. He told me that she kissed him and he didn’t kiss her. He’s been lying to me! I don’t know how long they’ve been doing this. It kills me inside knowing how my trust was betrayed.
A few minutes went by, as you continued with the fanfic trying not to think about Jin right now. You felt upset again as your stomach turned and your heartbeat from anger. You sniffled a bit and then saw Jungkook come down. He pulled his pillow and blanket off and laid on the floor beside you without saying a word he went back to his phone laying on his back.
[From Jungkook: 11:56 pm]
>I am sorry to hear Y/N. Please know I am always here for you if you need it. Jin was a loser anyways. We’ll play videogames all day tomorrow and eat junk food okay? I always got your back. I’ll keep you safe from anything. Heartbreak, boys, sadness. I’ll keep you safe and happy.
You smiled at his response.
[To Jungkook: 11:56 pm]
>Deal.
You turned over to see that Jungkook put his phone down and laid motionless on the floor beside you. You went back to your reading and then went to sleep for the night.
━────────────────────────────━
You spent the weekend there keeping yourself busy, ignoring texts from Jin, you spent the Monday going about your classes ignoring his advances at every turn. You came home after school, your family still not back yet. You laughed as you walked to your porch on the phone with Jungkook. You saw a package sitting on your doorstep you pick it up looking at the sender and receiver. It’s to you with no return address, you open it up. When you take the contents outside you gasp and drop the package. It was a picture of Jin and Jordanna kissing, with “She’ll pay” on the back.
Story: You knew being an intern at BigHit wouldn’t be easy, but you’d never imagined Jungkook would make it even harder.
You are a new intern at Big Hit, and you get to meet the boys. Set in the real world (as opposed at an AU), and just before the Love Yourself: Tear Comeback. 1.8k words in this chapter.

The harsh and unforgiving buzz of your 6am alarm screeches through your bedroom, penetrating the soft blankets and making its way into your dream. For a second your thoughts are confused and muddled with the morning noise, but then you feel your body wake with a start.
Today’s the day.
Hurriedly you push the blankets off your body and slip out of bed, into your comfiest dressing gown and the ridiculously old slippers you refuse to replace. Their sentimental value outweighs their depreciating quality, so you continue to wear them to pieces.
Your internship starts today. With Big Hit.
You couldn’t believe your luck at being chosen from over 15, 000 college applicants, especially as Korean was only your second language, (though you were undeniably fluent), and you had just arrived in Seoul a little over six months ago. Somehow you had been picked, and your astonishment had turned into realisation and immense butterflies in the weeks since the fateful letter had arrived. And now today was finally the day.
Big Hit was such a huge contributor to K-pop and the music industry through BTS, but most of all it was an undeniably successful music production company. You were overwhelmed at the thought of being able to see first-hand the work that goes into such a huge corporation, and as a business major it was pretty much all you could think about. Most of your friends had been shocked at the prospect of you being near BTS for 4 months, but you just couldn’t keep your mind off the school side of things. After all, that was why you applied, and no doubt they were going to be perfectly normal boys anyway. Well, men.
The shower was warm and enjoyable as it flooded over your body, and you shut your eyes for deeper enjoyment. Mixed with the sound of light rain from outside, the butterflies in your stomach were almost calming rather than anxiety-inducing. You shave, and wash your body and your hair - the light and flowery scents were your favourites, and you’re all too aware your self-presentation will be taken into account by all officials you meet.
Hopping out, you put on your pre-selected outfit, looking at yourself in your bedroom’s full-length mirror. A white button-up shirt, with tightly flattering black jeans cuffed at the ankles and your faithful black and white vans. You look presentable, yet still young and obviously intern-esque. Appropriate for an 19 year old intern, you thought.
Heading through to the kitchen, you quickly pop some 3-minute oatmeal into the microwave, and begin cutting up the banana and strawberries to go with it. Your tiny kitchen hugs around you reassuringly, and you look around gratefully. It was truly the perfect apartment, modern yet tiny and with a surprisingly modest rent. In the middle of a strawberry cut your phone rings, and you check it with nervousness. A text from Shia, your best friend and long-suffering brother’s girlfriend.
“Good luck, Y/N! We all love you and are rooting for you!”
Beneath was an adorable photo of them together with your parents, giving you genuine open mouthed smiles and a thumbs up. You couldn’t help but smile too, it was too damn cute. No doubt it had been taken in advance, since the time difference had to be accounted for. You quickly tapped out a thankful reply, sent it, and retrieved your warm oatmeal from the microwave to dig into the early breakfast.
7:30am
Your phone buzzes again, this time reminding you to take your daily birth control pill. Gulping it down with water, you wondered why you were even still bothering. It’d been almost a whole year since your last kiss with a boy, let alone anything more promiscuous than that. Still, shorter periods was a plus and you didn’t seem to have any negative side effects, so you figured it was somewhat worth the routine and $30 a month. Seeing the time, you grabbed your bag and double checked you had everything you could possibly need. Gum, cards, offical ID… everything seemed to be in its rightful place, which seemed promising. You’d even remembered to fill up your metal bottle with fresh cold water and ice, which you loved regardless of the raining weather outside. Stepping out of the apartment, you locked the door behind you and headed down the copious stairs leading to the outside of the building. Sure, you didn’t have to be there until 8:30am and public transport would get you there by 8:10 - you still wanted to be on time for one of the events that could turn into a momentous event for your college work, or even your career.
7:40am
The train is packed, and you find yourself squished between a businessman who pays you no attention and an old lady carrying three purses. The smell is rather damp, and the Monday mood is evident throughout all passengers’ moods. You were undeniably glad you had remembered your tiny bottle of perfume, your favourite travel-sized scent; a little bottle of Marc Jacobs in the scent ‘Daisy’.
A young boy, most likely around 17 is eyeing you up and down from across the train, and his eyes are making you slightly uncomfortable. Sure, you have a nice body and you’re not stranger to their gaze, but it never gets easier being openly gawped at. You shift from foot to foot, hoping that the train has no delays and he doesn’t get off at your stop. He gets off one before, and makes sure to brush against your ass as he makes his way past and out the doors. Gross.
8:10am
You try the door of Big Hit Entertainment nervously, only to be met with resistance. Looking next to the door, you see a keypad clearly needing a set of around 5 numbers to be punched in. Dammit. Shit. How fucking awkward. Waving through the clear door, you try and get the attention of the woman behind the front desk. Eying you with a steeled look, she simply goes back to her mundane work. She must think you’re just a crazed fan. Perfect.
Knocking again, she looks up with clear annoyance on her face. You quickly snatch your ID and the acceptance letter from your bag and bang them against the glass, motioning for her to come and take a closer look. Clearly rolling her eyes, she gets up in a clear movement of frustration.
Once close enough, her eyes go wide and the look on her face is replaced with that of surprise. She swiftly punches numbers in, and the door swings open. Some of the fans who had been standing further back, from the other side of the road start to rush forward, and as soon as you’re through the door she slams the door behind you.
Now up close, you see she’s quite beautiful with wide doe-eyes and perfectly Korean features. She looks as through as was ripped straight from the pages of a magazine, particularly in her dark blue dress that’s tight and works her small curves to the best of their ability. Her lengthy legs in their sky-high heels make her a good 10 inches taller than you, and you feel considerably uglier in comparison.
“I am SO sorry,” she gushes. “I thought you’d be older, and not here until at least 8:30. Again, I seriously apologise! You must think me so rude.”
Her previous annoyance has been completely wiped away, and she now flashes you a sheepish and apologetic smile.
You give her a quick, reassuring smile back, and even laugh a little about the situation.
“No doubt young girls like me try and get in all the time, no doubt! I definitely don’t blame you for being good at your job!”
She laughs in return at this, nodding enthusiastically.
“You’d be astonished at how many young girls want a glimpse of BTS, it’s no wonder they come in through the back! I’m Jinwah, by the way, it’s nice to meet you Y/N… even if our first meeting has been a little difficult!”
You flick your wrist up and check the time on your small gold watch, a present from your father before you'd left for Korea. Your deep sentiment definitely transcends no-longer-fuzzy slippers. 8:24. Definitely time to go.
“I’m so sorry, but I definitely have to get to where I’m supposed to be now. Room 753?” you ask quizzically.
“Take the elevator to floor 14, then it’s the 8th door on your right. Good luck!”
She flashes you another award-winning smile, and you can’t help but seriously like this girl. We could definitely become friends while you’re here, in fact, you might make it a personal goal. You could do with more friends in Korea, since you’re currently sitting at only two.
You send a quick “thanks!” her way, and walk over to the elevator. Pushing the button, it pops open right away for you. Getting in, you repeat to yourself that it’s the eighth door to your right, and you punch in the 14th floor.
Whizzing up, your stomach is in knots as you attempt to mentally prepare yourself for your first impressions. A spritz of your perfume and the doors open, allowing you to step into a white-walled and modern looking hallway. It screams office building, and the buzz of talking is thick. People are all throughout the hallway, and going in and out of the rooms, much busier than the lobby downstairs. You suppose they must all come in through the secretive back entrance, being staff and all. A large and busy woman in a black and white dress notices you, and comes striding towards you with her clipboard. Her smile makes you less nervous, though you feel exceedingly out of place and awkward.
“Welcome! You must be my intern, yes? You’re Y/N?”
Her smile and her warm demeanour melts your butterflies, and you feel much better having met the woman who you’ll be shadowing for the next few month.
“Yes, that’s me,” you reply, “I’m very honoured and excited to be here!”
“Good, good!” She replies, bustling with enthusiasm. “Shall we get started? The very first thing I’ll have you do is meet the boys, they’re all in dance practice right now so I’m sure they’ll be happy to have a quick break.”
She says this with a chuckle, but you suddenly feel nervous again.
8:45am
On our way towards the room you hear it from all the way down the hall. The loud, banging sound of all their feet falling to the floor in synchronisation, and it sounds almost mesmerising with their music playing in the background.
She doesn’t even bother knocking, and simply opens the door with blatant familiarity. Of course she knows the boys well, you chastise yourself. It’s you who’s the outsider.
Summary: The rest of the boys tag along on your date with Jungkook and attract too much unwanted attention.
Even though you had been on dates with Jungkook before, you always got anxious before each one. He wasn’t intimidating or a lot to handle, he was actually the opposite. He was cute and a little awkward and shy. You’d been dating for about a year now and whenever he had a few days off he would fly from across the world to come and be with you. It was charming.
As you outside the library in your home town for him, you tapped your foot and scrolled through every social media your phone held. Every few seconds you’d look up for the brunette with the smile of the sun, but his lazy ass was probably still at his hotel in reality. A few minutes later, you spotted him in the busy streets of the city... with the rest of the band. You stood up to greet him at the door with your arms crossed across your chest and the fakest smile you held.
You didn’t hate the rest of the band, you loved them actually. You had group chats and texted and even hung out whenever you could. If they were on tour and you happened to be there, you’d always be down to do whatever or go with whoever to vocal recordings, dance practice, training, working out, or the occasional selfie picker for the twitter.
Being in public with the seven of them was a bit of a chore. Despite the dumb stuff they always did, (Which was never truly the issue. It was funny.) the band was getting bigger and when they were together they got recognized more often. Especially being without security, you could feel your anxiety spiking.
He quickly jogged up to you and held you, whispering, “Well, uh- you see-” he began to explain, rubbing the back of his head. They’re kind of like a puppy. They just follow me everywhere.” Jungkook laughed, pulling away from you as they stepped up.
“Hey guys!” you waved. They all took turns giving you little hugs and saying how you should really text them more and not your ‘loving’ boyfriend as much. Saying that he complains when you take him away from Overwatch and of course you knew it was all jokes. Well, sorta. He gets pretty serious about that.
“Are you hungry? You must be hungry. I’m hungry.” Jungkook nervously rambled, extending his arm around your lower back and walking with you as close as you could be.
You just giggled and followed his lead. Somewhere along the walk you had decided that you’d simply ignore the other boys and focus on the boyfriend you hadn’t seen in almost two months.
“I’m telling you, Y/N, I’m the best Mcree player in North America!” he boasted.
“You’re not even from here.”
“Yeah, but back in Korea I’m not the best yet, but here I’m the best!”
A hand flew up from behind and whacked him in the back of the head and you turned to see Hoseok snickering with Namjoon about the dumb stuff your boyfriend was saying. The boys were respecting you two being a little off to yourselves, but there were times when something dumb was said and they couldn’t let that go unnoticed.
“How far is this place? I didn’t sign up to go hiking on my day off...” Yoongi complained, obviously wishing he had stayed back instead.
“I’m not too sure.” Namjoon responded.
You all stopped. “What do you mean, Joonie?” Jimin said with a false positive tone. “You got us lost? ...again?” Their fearless leader chuckled and the guys all took turns hitting him and sighing. A lot.
“Oh shit.” Jin spat and you turned to face him. Then you looked where his eyes were set and you saw them. The paparazzi. It was almost rare for them to find the Bangtan Boys in public, but I guess wondering around the city for 2 hours seemed to set off some alarms.
Jungkook pulled off his jacket and threw it over you, pulling you right under his arm. He didn’t want you to get caught up in this or get seperated. “How far are we from the hotel?” he rapidly spoke, wanting to get you out of here. He knew the way you reacted to these kind of situations. You shut down and you could feel it slowly happening. Yeah, the big crowds came along with being out in public with a star, but it was so hard to get used to,
“I- I’m not sure!” Tae yelled, trying to make sure everyone could hear him over the chatter. He was closer to you now, as they all were. At this point you’d unintentionally closed your eyes and the boys being all smooshed together around you directed your feet now.
“It’ll about be okay, Y/N.” Jungkook whispered right next to your ear and you just tightened your grip on his white tee, burying your face into it.
Behind you, you heard Namjoon on the phone with what you guessed was security, reading off all the signs around you. “You see us?” he spoke, “Yeah, we’re in the middle of that.” In almost a comedic fashion, a black van pulled up on the street and came to a halt with a screeching noise.
“They only brought one van...?” Yoongi whined, everyone knew he liked his space in the car. “Eh, whatever. Let’s just fucking get in it.”
You weren’t quite sure how their security was going to get through all of the fans and photographers surrounding you, but when Jungkook lifted you and handed you over to the security, you were relived. Security made a path for the boys, but Jungkook knew you too well. The sooner he could get you out of the tight space, the better.
You waited outside the van for a matter for seconds until your boyfriend was beside you. He jumped in and pulled you with him, positioning you on his lap and wrapping his arms you. With a long sigh, you slouched onto him. “Kookie...” you whispered as the other boys dove into the van, “I love you.”
Summary: You have loved Jungkook since before you even met him, obsessing over BTS and writing the smuttiest fics about him. But once you two start dating you try your hardest to prevent him from finding out. You’re successful for the first few years, until one night....
Word Count: 6,595
Genre: Fluff, Light Smut (who am I kidding this is definitely smut)
Content: masturbation mention, oral sex, Jungkook attempts to be a dom but isn’t very good at it, a little bit of bondage, Jungkook letting you call him Oppa, attempts at dirty talk, Jungkook being the squishy bun that he is
Sneak Peak:
You sit down next to him, mortified, as you watch him reading in silence. “Are… are you actually into this kind of thing..?”
“I.. uh.. I—” you stutter, not knowing how to answer his question. “I mean I guess..?”
“It just seems so rough, so vulgar… Does— doesn’t that hurt?” He asks, pointing to a particularly rough portion of your fic.
“Nothing could be as painful as this right now.”
A/N: My first BTS fic omg and my first smut. This is for @qweentae who made this imagine and I just had to write a fic about it 😂😂😂. THIS IS A JOKE I DONT BELIEVE THAT OPPA KINK IS AN ACTUAL THING. Anyway, here we go~
You sit at your desk and hurriedly scribble notes into your pink floral notebook as you glance at the clock. 5:14pm. You know that Jungkook will be home from dance practice soon, but you desperately want to get the plan for your latest smut fic down before you forget. You write down the last of your ideas, close the book, and slide it into the desk drawer as Jungkook slides his keys into the front door lock. You know you probably shouldn’t be doing this behind his back, but you don’t want him to get freaked out if he found out you were writing smut starring your idol boyfriend. You stand up from your chair as he opens the door, walking over to you and giving you a soft kiss on the forehead.
“Hey, babe.” He greets, a wide grin spreading across his face upon seeing you.
You grimace as he tries to wrap his arms around you. “Oh my god. Please go take a shower; you reek.”
“Sorry, I was in a rush leaving the practice room. I’m going now, my love. Care to join me?” He smirks.
“I already showered,” you reply, gesturing up and down your body, indicating that you were already wearing your pajamas.
“Alright. I’ll see you when I get out.” He winks at you. He’s such a nerd, you think as he disappears into the bathroom.
Sex with Jungkook was pretty good. Not as earth-shattering as you read in fics, and sometimes lacked foreplay, but you can’t complain. He’s a gentle lover, always making sure you’re comfortable and that he isn’t hurting you. It could be a bit boring at times, just plain vanilla, but he still makes you feel good in the end. You love Jungkook, and you know that he loves you. That is precisely why you never told him your secret.
It started out as a hobby during your latter portions of high school, just something you dabbled in. Senior year consisted of a minimal workload and lots of free time, so you needed something to keep you entertained. Around this time you also started getting interested in K-Pop, with a rookie group from the previous year, his group, catching your eye. This was months before you met Jungkook, when his group was just starting out, slowly gaining traction. You spent the rest of your high school days fantasizing about him, and posting those fantasies online. As his work gained popularity, so did yours. You had amassed quite a following in such a short time, receiving hundreds of comments from anonymous users, telling you how much they love your work, which drove you to keep writing, keep dreaming.
As you were nearing graduation, the Bangtan Boys announced that they were playing a show near you, and you begged your parents to let you go as a graduation gift. That night you went with your best friend, Jess, who you also dragged into K-Pop Hell. You had a great time. Most of it was a blur of screaming and jumping and dancing, but you distinctly remember thinking that Jungkook looked so much more handsome in person. The way his shirt hugged his muscles, the way his sweat glistened and dripped down his face, the way his hair clung to his forehead, all by the end of the night had you filled with lust. You knew you had to write about it when you got home, maybe after touching yourself a little bit.
Your plans would have to wait, however, because Jess was complaining about how hungry she was. You drove to your favorite jjajangmyun place, thankful that it was still open at this hour, and still thinking about Jungkook. The two of you sat down and ordered, and within minutes, two bowls of steaming noodles covered in rich, dark black bean sauce were placed in front of you. You were in the middle of stuffing a huge chopstickful of noodles into your mouth as the bell above the door jingled and in stepped a group of seven hungry boys and a handful of their staff. You nearly choked, spitting out the noodles that had filled your mouth, as Jess turned around to see what had you so startled. You immediately locked eyes with Jungkook, but he looked away, thinking nothing of it, since the restaurant was pretty tiny and there weren’t many patrons at this hour. Also, a loud group of twenty-ish year olds just walked in, who wouldn’t stare? Little did he know he was the subject of all your fantasies and the person you think about when you’re alone at night.
You and Jess decided not to engage. They looked tired from the show they played less than an hour ago and the last thing they needed was to be mobbed by crazy fans. However, you two did decide to stay until they too were done with their meals, and told the owners that you wanted to buy dessert for all of them. You also told them to throw in a couple bottles of soju. The boys and their staff were a bit confused when the servers were placing bowls of bingsu and shot glasses in front of them, but one of the owners came over and explained what was happening. They looked over at your table and once again you locked eyes with Jungkook, unable to look away. He gave you a small smile and thanked you before turning back to his table and digging into his frozen treat.
You and Jess paid your bill and left the restaurant, with one last glance at the idols’ table. They were too immersed in their conversations to notice you leaving, until Namjoon stood up and thanked the two of you again. You said it was no big deal and thanked them for the amazing show earlier. You walked out into the parking lot and paused to dig around your purse for your car keys. That’s when you heard the bell on top of the door jingle behind you. You turned around to see Jungkook walking nervously towards you and Jess.
“Wait.” He said. “Thank you again for the dessert, that was very kind of you.” He gave a small smile. His cheeks were a little pink but you couldn’t tell if he was blushing or if it was just the amount of soju he drank.
“Oh totally, it was our pleasure. We wanted to thank you guys for the amazing show. We’re big fans.” you replied, and immediately regretted it. You were just becoming friendly with the guy and didn’t want it to seem like you were a crazy fan.
“I’m glad to hear that you like us. I’m guessing you already know who I am then; I don’t need to introduce myself, but,” he reached out his hand, “I’m Jungkook.” Coming from anyone else, those words could have sounded arrogant, but you saw how nervous he was and found it endearing. You were trying to keep your composure, but on the inside you were about to combust. Jeon Jungkook? Here in front of you? Talking to you? Thanking you? Acting nervous in front of you? You were having trouble processing it all. You and Jess reached out and took turns shaking his hand.
“I’m Jess,” she said first, speaking for the first time since Jungkook joined you. “And this is my friend, Y/N. She’s the one who introduced me to Bangtan and I’m so glad she did.”
“Thank you.” He smiled, unsure of what else to say.
Feeling the awkwardness grow, you interrupted it by saying, “It’s getting late and we should be getting home. The rest of your group is probably wondering where you are. It was nice meeting you, Jungkook. Thank you again for the show.” You were worried that you sounded like a broken record, constantly saying “thank you,” but you were too nervous to think of anything else to say.
The three of you said goodbye one last time as you pushed the button to unlock your car. Jess had already gotten in the passenger seat when Jungkook stopped you again, taking a hold of you arm to prevent you from stepping further. You turned around to face him, but he had trouble meeting your eyes.
“W-wait.” He stuttered. “We’re in town for a couple more days. Let me return the favor to you. Maybe take you out to dinner or something?”
You gaped at him, unsure of what to say. Part of you wanted to scream “YES JUNGKOOK I WOULD LOVE THAT MORE THAN ANYTHING” at the top of your lungs, but the sensible part was telling you that even if you do say yes, then what? You go out with him, and what if you find that he’s not at all what you imagined, that you actually don’t like him all that much, tainting your image of him forever? Or worse, what if you end up falling hard for him, harder than you already have, and he leaves and you never see him again?
Jungkook saw your hesitation and took his hand off your arm. “Or.. uhh.. Sorry. That was too forward.. You need to be getting home, don’t let me keep you—”
“I’d love to,” you blurted out before he could leave. You hoped you wouldn’t come to regret this decision. Knowing that long-distance cell phone rates are insane, the two of you opted to exchange KakaoTalk IDs instead. You and Jungkook parted ways once more and you drove home that night with a smile on your face.
It turned out that he was swamped with schedules the next day and couldn’t take the time to see you, but he made sure to message you whenever he had a spare minute. This made it very hard to focus on writing. Rather than thinking about his strong muscles and toned thighs, you found yourself only able to think about the cute bunny smile he had when you said yes to him and the adorable KKT stickers he would send when he messaged you. This was great for you as a girl with crush, but bad for you as a smut writer.
Jungkook had the next night off, his final night in your town before heading back to Seoul to prepare for BTS’s next comeback. He took you to the fanciest restaurant your small town had to offer. Even by big city standards this place was fancy, with crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling every few feet, luxurious velvet chairs that look like they belonged to royalty, and extravagant flower bouquets at the center of each table. You felt horribly underdressed in your white lace sundress and ballet flats.
“You really didn’t have to do this, Jungkook. I would have been fine just going to the pier and grabbing some ddeokbokki or something.” You say after you two settled in your seats. He looked really good, donning a black satiny blazer with black dress pants and a black button down with white piping on the collar. It was almost enough for your smutty thoughts to return to you.
“I didn’t realize how fancy this place was when I googled it. It is a bit much isn’t it?” He said, taking in the lavish decor. “I just wanted to make a good first impression. I… So like….” His brows furrowed as he tried to get his words out. You looked at him expectantly, watching him fumble.
He took a deep breath and looked you in the eyes before speaking again. “I’ve never really been on a date before?” It came out more like a question than a statement. “Being so busy, we never really have time for dating or anything like that. And you’re really pretty and I really like you like I know I just met you and don’t know you very well but I can’t help it. Not to sound all corny and cheesy but I’ve never felt this way before and my heart beats a little faster when I see that the notification on my phone is from you and all of yesterday I just wanted to call you up and hear your voice but I was too busy and I didn’t want the guys to make fun of me and I—” He stopped himself, cringing at the mushy mess that was spewing uncontrollably from his mouth.
“Jungkook,” you said softly. Part of you wanted to hear what he had to say next, but part of you wanted him to shut up because you could see how embarrassed he was becoming, and yet another part of you wanted to hug him and squish his face and tell him it was okay to feel that way. What happened to the confident boy you saw on stage, the one you wrote cocky frat boy fics about? The boy sitting in front of you was so shy, and so sweet. “If anyone should be nervous it should be me. You’re Jeon Jungkook! K-Pop Idol! Golden Maknae! I’m trying very hard not to get starstruck right now.” You said, hoping to make him feel less anxious. You reached across the table, having to stand up a little bit to reach for his hand, which had been wringing the other ever since he started talking. Once you had a hold of it you looked him in the eyes and said, “Jungkook, it’s okay. If it makes you feel any better, this is kind of my first real date, too. I mean I’ve gone with guys to school dances and stuff but it was never anything serious. That being said, I’m not that hard to impress, so if we ever go out again you don’t have to do something quite so extravagant.”
Jungkook looked at you, eyes wide and mouth slightly open. You could tell his brain was working at a million miles a minute, thinking about what you just said. You opened your mouth to ask him what was wrong when he finally responded, “Okay two things. One: You consider this a serious date?”
“I mean if—”
“And two: You would want to go out with me again?” He looked at you in disbelief, which caused you to look at him with the same expression.
“Uhh… Yes?” You couldn’t believe he was actually asking you this. Why wouldn’t you? Who wouldn’t want a second date with Jeon Jungkook? Especially if he was as sweet and as adorable as he was being in this moment.
The two of you were so absorbed in your conversation that you hadn’t realized that neither of you had opened your menus yet. You were jolted out of your little moment when the waiter came over with glasses of water, asking if you were ready to order. The both of you opened the menus and hurriedly searched for something to order, not wanting to keep the waiter standing there awkwardly for too long. You and Jungkook decided you would each get the chef’s special, which you couldn’t even remember what it was. Something seafood and something ridiculously pricey.
Once the waiter retreated back to the kitchen, you continued with your conversation.
“Yes, Jungkook. I would love to go out with you again.” You said smiling. “I mean if you’re up for it.” You added quickly, not wanting to seem too presumptuous.
“I would love that,” he replied, with his cute bunny smile.
You spent the rest of your night making small talk about family, friends, and life in general while indulging in your seafood something. He shared funny tales of wardrobe malfunctions and stage effects going wrong, and the hilarious pranks Bangtan pulled on each other while on the road. You told him that you had just graduated high school and had applied to university in Seoul and was waitlisted and waiting to hear back from them. He expressed how much he’d love for you to be accepted so you can move to the capital and be closer to him. After you finished your meals, you snuck a glance at the check and offered to split it with him, but Jungkook insisted on paying for you.
After leaving the restaurant, you drove the two of you to the pier, where snack and souvenir shops lined the beach. He took your hand as he led you down the street, looking into each of the shops and listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. You had heard about the ice cream shops here that made ice cream cones in the shape of roses but never got the chance to try them. When you expressed your interest in them, Jungkook immediately dragged you into one and bought you the biggest cone they had. It was way too big for you to finish yourself so you shared it with him, taking turns licking away at the frozen chocolate petals as you continued down the strip of shops.
When you got too cold he wrapped his blazer around you, like a true gentleman, and you couldn’t help but giggle at how cheesy the gesture was.
“Cheesy or not I don’t want you to catch a cold.” You couldn’t help but smile at his concern.
You finished your dessert and your stroll and drove Jungkook back to his hotel. You offered to walk him up to his room and he agreed, trying not to reveal how excited he really was. When you arrived at his door you began to take his jacket off your shoulders to give it back to him, but he lightly grabbed your wrist to stop you.
“Keep it for now,” he said. “You still have to walk back to your car and it’s cold out.”
“But when—” You started.
“Also it would give me an excuse to see you again,” he interrupted. You couldn’t stop yourself from smiling once again.
Before you could say anything, he moved his hand from your wrist to your cheek, stroking your cheekbone lightly with his thumb before leaning in to give you a gentle peck on the lips. You were so startled, and he pulled away before you could kiss him back. He looked at you, scanning your face trying to read it. A disappointed look started to form on his face from your lack of response when you got on your tiptoes and pressed your lips against his. The sensation was electrifying, heightened by the knowledge that you were probably giving him his first kiss. You had been kissed a couple of times before, but you never liked the any of the guys enough to kiss them back. So technically, this was your first kiss too.
You reached up to wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him down to you so you no longer had to balance on the balls of your feet. He put his hands around your waist, grabbing onto the soft lace of your dress. When he kissed you back, it was the best feeling in the world. You opened your mouth slightly and licked his bottom lip, asking for permission to enter. He parted his lips slightly in response and you slipped your tongue in, searching for his. When your tongues finally met, you were lost in the feeling, wanting to stay like this forever, mouths joined, in each other’s arms. You were dazed when he pulled back, suddenly remembering that you were still in the hotel hallway.
“Y/N,” he murmured, his voice hoarse. “If we keep going I don’t think I’ll be able to stop.”
You tiptoe once again to put your lips up to his ear, planting a kiss on the scar on his cheek along the way. “What if I don’t want you to stop?” You whispered. You felt his arms stiffen around you before he removed them from your waist.
When you felt him pull back, you thought you had scared him off, that he was running away. You stepped back and saw that he was actually fumbling for his room key. You reached into the pocket of the jacket that was still around your shoulders and pulled out a small plastic card, handing it to him.
“Thanks,” he said embarrassedly, and rushed to get the door open. “Come on in.” With that he ushered you into his hotel room, taking his jacket off your shoulders.
Fast forward to the present day. You and Jungkook have been together for three years and he has since moved out of his dorm to live with you in your cozy apartment near the university you had hoped you’d get into. Jungkook’s group is now more popular than ever, winning international awards and receiving critical acclaim. You, too, have had your fair share of accomplishments, entering your final year of university, pursuing a bachelor’s in creative writing, and having your fanfiction become some of the most reblogged on tumblr. Over the years, Jungkook has seen you writing from time to time and was, without a doubt, curious. Each time you would tell him it’s a research paper or report for school. He respected your privacy, and didn’t pry. He was so good to you, and you felt guilty for lying to him, but you just didn’t want to ruin what you had.
While Jungkook is still in the shower, you pull out your notebook and go back to writing. You’re so immersed in your fantasy that you don’t hear him turn the water off nor do you hear him when he accidentally knocks over a shampoo bottle while getting out of the shower. It isn’t until he opens the bathroom door, wearing only a towel around his waist, that you are thrown back into reality and you quickly shove your notebook back into your desk drawer.
That was way too close, Y/N, you think.
However, all your worries leave you when you see your boyfriend standing there, still glistening from the steam, half naked, with only a towel hanging low on his waist. Three years with him and you still can’t get over how beautiful he is.
“Hey babe?” He says, interrupting your thoughts.
“Yeah?”
“Can I borrow your laptop? Sejin is supposed to email next week’s schedule to us and my phone is dead.”
“Yeah, yeah, of course.” You hand him the laptop that had been sitting on your desk.
He opens the laptop while you get up to move to the couch. When you look back at him his eyebrows are furrowed.
“Uhhh… Y/N… What is this…?”
You have no idea what he’s talking about at first, and it shows on your face. But your expression quickly changes when you realize that you forgot to close down the draft of your latest smut fic before closing your laptop and handing it to Jungkook.
“Oh my god.” Your eyes are wide and you don’t know what else to say. Your mind fumbles, grasping for words, but none come out.
His eyes continue to scan the laptop screen and you see him place his fingers on the trackpad to scroll downwards.
Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god….
That’s all you can think when you struggle to find something to say to him. You eventually blurt out, “OHMYGODIMSORRYPLEASEDON’TREADTHATIDIDN’TWANTYOUTOKNOW!” But he doesn’t take his eyes off the screen.
You get up and try to take the laptop from him but he dodges you, holding his hand out to stop you.
“Wait, I want to read this,” he says, making his way to sit on the couch where you had just been.
“Nothing could be as painful as this right now,” you bury your face in your hands. You’re embarrassed beyond belief, but at least he isn’t freaking out and threatening to leave you.
After what feels like an eternity, he sets the laptop down and looks you in the eyes. That’s when you notice the bulge that had begun to form beneath his towel.
He stands up, your eyes still on his crotch, and motions for you to get up as well. “Come here,” he beckons, and you stand up to meet him.
He takes a step closer and leans toward you, his lips hovering next to your ear.
“Jungkook what are you doing?”
“Is that what you really want.” His voice a soft whisper, referring to the smut fic he just put down.
“Um.. well. You never seemed like you’d be comfortable with that kind of stuff and I—”
“I’m not talking about what I want. I’m talking about what you want.” He interrupts you. “So I’m going to ask you again, is that what you really want?”
You stifle a gasp, taken aback by the how aggressive he sounds. His voice comes out like a growl, sounding almost angry. Before you can answer he starts peppering soft kisses along your jawline, and he steps even closer until you can feel his hard bulge against your stomach.
“Uh y-yes?” You stutter.
He pulls back a looks you in the eyes. “Say it like you mean it, Y/N.”
You’ve never seen this side of him. He’s always so soft and gentle, but now….
“Yes, Jungkook. That’s what I want.”
With that he takes your face in both his hands and crashes his lips against yours. “Crashing” is the only way you can think to describe it. You had written it countless times in your fics but you never really understood what it meant until now. The sheer force of this move has you stumbling back a couple of steps to maintain your balance. You have to admit it hurts a little as your upper lip smashes against your teeth, but at this point you’re so turned on that you don’t really care.
With his lips still on yours he moves his hands to your waist and pushes you toward the bedroom, and you try your best not to trip along the way. Somewhere in this frenzy of lips and tongues and hands, Jungkook loses his towel, leaving him completely naked as he pushes you against the bedroom wall closest to the door.
Fully aware of how clothed you are and how naked he is, Jungkook tells you, “Clothes. Off. Now.”
His aggressive tone gets you very excited, and you struggle to unbutton your pajama shirt with your hands shaking. Jungkook reaches out to help you, placing a kiss on your collarbone and moving lower with every button he undoes. When he finally gets to last button, he pushes the shirt off your body, letting it fall to the floor. You pull down your pants and step out of them, leaving you almost as naked as he is. He grabs one of your breasts over your bra and massages it, while he places his mouth on your neck, sucking and biting until pools of purple start to appear. He rubs the tip of his hardened member against your clothed core and you let out a moan. Jungkook detaches his lips from your neck and places them back on your lips as he grabs your waist and pulls you toward the bed. He turns you around and pushes you down onto the mattress with his mouth still on yours. He uses one hand to prop himself up and the other to unclasp your bra, all while rubbing the tip of his cock on your soaked panties, causing you to moan loudly into his mouth.
“You like dirty talk, don’t you?” He asks. You nod in response, unable to speak. His mouth doesn’t leave yours when he continues with, “God you’re so fucking wet, I can’t wait to bury myself deep inside of you— Am I doing this right?”
You want to giggle at his question. You can’t believe this is actually happening, your fics actually coming true. Well, kind of…
“Just let me know if it’s too much. I don’t want to make you uncomfortable or anything.”
“Jungkook, it’s fine,” you respond. “I think you’re being too gentle.”
He pulls away from your lips, looking confused. “This? Even when I pushed you against the wall? And when I pushed you onto the bed? I don’t want to hurt you or anything—”
“Jungkook. Jungkook? Look at me.” You wait until he meets your eyes. That’s when you tell him, “I don’t care. I want to be fucking dominated.”
Something in his demeanor changes; the concerned look instantly wiped from his face as you say this. He slams his mouth back onto yours, causing you to gasp, and he grinds himself harder into you. The friction against your clit through your underwear is enough to bring you close to coming, and Jungkook can sense this as your breathing becomes more shallow. He moves his lips away from yours and starts kissing down your body until he’s hovering above your wet center. He pulls your panties off and drops them on the floor, returning to face your throbbing core. You can feel his breath on you as he moves in closer. He places his tongue on your clit, swirling it around gently. A soft moan escapes your throat. Then he remembers what you said about him being too gentle, and starts moving faster, pressing his tongue into you with more pressure. This makes you moan louder, exactly what he wanted.
He moves lower and licks up and down your slit, scooping up your juices with his tongue. “Mmmm.. You taste so fucking good, Y/N.”
“Jungkooooooook,” you moan. “I’m so close. I’m gonna come.”
On any other night he would have let you. He would have been more than happy to make you come right then and there, but he remembers what he read in your fic earlier.
“Beg for it.” He says, pulling away from you. You groan at the sudden lack of touch.
“W—what?” You’re somewhat shocked. He has never spoken to you that way before. You’re kind of liking it. Who are you kidding? You’re very much liking it.
He moves back up your body until his lips are by your ear. “If you want to come, you have to beg for it.” You begin to feel like he’s enjoying this a little too much, but you don’t mind. Not at all.
“Please, babe,” you plead. “Let me come. Please.”
He smirks at you. “That’s my girl.” And slides back down your body.
Jungkook uses his thumb to rub your clit as he swirls his tongue inside of you. Your climax quickly approaches, and before you know it, you’re screaming his name as you come into his mouth. “Fuck, babe. I love hearing you say my name. Fuck I fucking love you so much.” He seems like a completely different person than the Jungkook you’ve known for the past three years, but that boy returns when he says, “I’m allowed to say I love you right? That doesn’t ruin the mood or the facade or whatever? And you’re not mad that I asked you to beg, right? I mean, this is our first time doing this roleplay type of thing, and you know I would never do that if it were actually me, right?”
You try not to laugh. “Yes, Jungkook, I know. If I didn’t like it, we wouldn’t be doing it. You’re such a nerd sometimes. You’re sure you’re comfortable with all of this, right?”
“Yeah, of course. Definitely. I would do anything to make you feel good.” He moves back up to kiss you on the lips, and you can still taste yourself on his tongue. He pulls back smiling. “That being said, now that you’ve come once, we can let the real fun begin!” Jungkook springs off the bed and disappears into the closet.
“Babe, what are you doing?” You call out to him.
“In your fic you wrote about bondage, right?” He asks from the closet. “Well…” He emerges carrying a handful of his belts and neck ties. “I thought we’d try it.”
The next thing you know he’s on top of you again, looping a belt around your joined wrists and pulling it tight in one swift motion. He roughly yanks the belt so that your hands are positioned above your head. It surprises you, so you let out a little gasp.
“Am I hurting you?” His brows knit together in worry. “If I’m hurting you please let me know. If you’re not enjoying it, I’ll stop.”
“You don’t have to keep asking, Jungkookie. If you’re hurting me I would tell you,” you reassure him, placing a firm kiss on his lips
“Do you want to be blindfolded?” He asks, gesturing toward the pile of ties that he brought from the closet.
“No, not right now,” you answer. “I like being able to see you.”
He smiles and kisses you again. “Ready?” He asks. You nod.
He resumes character and runs his length along your slit, covering himself in your arousal. “God, babe, you’re still so fucking wet. And all for me.”
He places a few soft kisses on your neck, causing you to moan, and your heart to pound. He pauses to line himself up at your entrance. “I’m gonna fuck you so hard.” As he finishes his sentence he thrusts into you with such force that you slide back a little on the bed and let out a scream. He mistakes your surprise for pain and stops abruptly, breaking character once again. “Oh my god, was that too hard? Are you okay?”
“Yeah, yeah. I’m fine, babe. Keep going, that felt good.”
The concerned look leaves his face and he continues thrusting into you roughly, not giving you time to adjust to him inside of you. You don’t mind, however. The pleasure you feel outweighs the pain. Jungkook goes faster and harder with each thrust, and reduces you to a screaming, sweaty mess.
“Does that feel good, babe? I’m sure it does. Fuck, Y/N. You feel so tight around me. You feel so good, babe.” You see that he’s starting to enjoy it more, which turns you on all the more. He gets on his knees and holds you up by the back of your thigh with his free hand as he continues thrusting into you with great force. This position allows him to slide in and out easily, hitting your g-spot each time.
“Ahh, yes god Jungkook that feels so good! Keep going. Right there.”
He looks at you, being the hot, panting mess that you are. “Is there anything else you want me to do? Anything else that can make this feel any better?”
You’re so engulfed by pleasure you have trouble thinking of a reply. You open your eyes to meet his. “Can I call you Oppa?”
Jungkook is so shocked that he pauses mid-thrust, but resumes before saying, “You wanna call me Oppa?” The confused look on his face has you worried that it’d be too weird for him. You two were born in the same year, with you a whole six months older. He doesn’t even let younger fans call him Oppa, so why would he let you? However, it is something that you’ve always wanted to do, and he did ask. After thinking about it for what feels like way too long, he answers with a smirk. “Have you been using banmal with me this whole time? You should be speaking to me formally. I am your Oppa, after all.”
As cheesy as he’s being, you can’t help but moan at his words. “Yes, Oppa. Anything you say,” you reply more formally.
“You’ve been very rude today. I might just have to punish you.” He leans down and moves his hand from your thigh to your neck, pressing down on your jugular, his face just inches from yours. He is getting so into it and you love it.
The reduced oxygen to your brain merely heightens everything you're feeling and you can feel your second orgasm approaching. “Jungkookie Oppa. You feel so good, Oppa. I’m going to come again.”
Jungkook moves his face closer to yours, so that his lips are just barely touching your lips. “Come for me, babygirl. I want to feel you come around me.” You didn’t think it was possible, but he starts thrusting into you even hard than before, until you’re screaming at the top of your lungs.
You clench around him, so close to your high. Jungkook moans in response and his beautiful voice is enough to push you over the edge. You scream out his name as you reach your sweet release, and he moans even louder as he feels you coming around him. His thrusts slow down but don’t stop as he helps you ride out your high, pushing him closer toward his. Just as you’re starting to calm down, you feel Jungkook come inside you, his hot seed coating your walls. He thrusts into you a few more times, then pulls out. He’s panting hard and his forehead and chest are covered in a thin layer of glistening sweat. He drops down on his back beside you, still breathing hard.
“Fuck,” is all he can say. The two of you lay there for a while, listening to each other’s breathing, trying to calm yourselves down.
“That was amazing, Y/N.” He finally manages. “We should do that again.”
“You liked it?” You ask.
“I mean it was a little weird at first because it was so new to me, but yeah. Once I got more into it, I like really got into it.”
“So you’re okay with all this? Not just the bondage and stuff but the fact that I write fanfiction?”
“Yeah, I mean I guess. It led to all this didn’t it?”
You chuckle and turn your body to rest on his chest. You’re about to put your arm around him when you remember that your wrists are still bound. “Uhh, Jungkookie.”
“Oh right, right. Sorry I forgot.” He gently removes the belt and tosses it aside. He winces at the red marks it leaves behind but you assure him that you’re okay. You snuggle against him and he places a kiss on the top of your head.
“You didn’t eat anything when you got home. Are you hungry?” You ask, breaking the silence.
“No, I think I’m good for now.”
You crane your neck to face him and you see he’s looking at you with that bunny smile you love so much. You give him a gentle peck on his lips before placing your head back on his chest.
The two of you lay there in silence once again. Jungkook twirls his fingers in your hair, and all you can think about is how you used to be so scared that Jungkook would find out your secret, but now that he knows (and actually likes it?) you can’t help but feel a tremendous weight lift off your shoulders. You feel yourself becoming drowsy and drifting off to sleep, wrapped in Jungkook’s arms.
The last thing you remember before sleep takes over is Jungkook leaning down to whisper, “Just FYI, you know Yoongi-hyung is the one with the oppa-kink, right?” And you fall asleep that night with a smile on your face.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Happy Holidays!
You and Jungkook met by chance when you started tutoring alongside your best friend’s brother for some extra cash. You were meeting up with Josh to get his advice on how to help a student you were tutoring when you ran into the bunny-hybrid and you just sort of blinked in surprise as he caught the book you dropped.
He was a little shy, but so were you.
You both stood there, trying to think of something to say until you both started talking at once.
Josh intervened right about then, asking you to take over tutoring Jungkook because the help he needed was more in your wheelhouse.
Thus, you two started getting coffee together and he told you about his family and you told him about your lack-thereof. Just you and your former owner, who would be on his honeymoon for Christmas.
That’s when he got the idea to invite you to his family’s Christmas, insisting that they wouldn’t mind and that there would totally be enough food for you and that they wouldn’t buy presents for you so you didn’t have to buy presents for them.
“What if I already got you a Christmas present?” You teased, thinking of how it was waiting in your room to be wrapped and how you had planned to give it to him at your next tutoring session. You were always well prepared for things, storing them away due to your squirrel genes. You finished Christmas shopping before December even hit.
He had gotten flustered. “Well…we could exchange gifts. No sense in returning them.”
You grinned at him. “You got me a gift already?”
He looked away, sort of sheepish.
“Jungkook, you are a complete sweetheart. But…won’t it be a little…awkward?”
He shook his head. “Dinner is technically completely separate occasion for us. We’ve already done presents in the morning and lunch is the big thing. Dinner is mostly whatever was left of lunch and we’re all just…chilling. Goofing off. The kids are with Eomma and Appa. We’re playing games and barely hitting the eggnog and mulled cider. Jimin, Yoongi, and Jimin’s wife enjoy some catnip. You’ll like them. Well, Namjoon and his mate can be a little standoffish, but they’ll warm up. They’re wolf hybrids.”
“Really? That’s so cool. You know they’re going extinct,” You said. “Actually, that’s going to be on the next test. Write that down.”
His eyes widened, muttering a curse under his breath and jotting it into his study notes. “This final is going to suck.”
“You’ll be fine. As long as you remember that the breeding of wolf hybrids stopped being practiced the year before I was born.” You jotted down the year in his notes. “You’re positive that your family won’t mind?”
“Eomma and Appa are always saying my friends are more than welcome. They sort of adopt people anyway. Christmas dinner isn’t a big deal. Now, are you going to accept and move on to helping me pass this final, or are we going to schedule tutoring sessions for next semester when I have to retake this course?”
You rolled your eyes and hit his head with your fluffy tail. “You’ve passed so far. You’d get a good enough grade to pass. Wouldn’t look great for your GPA, but you’d still pass.” You stirred your hot chocolate and turned your attention to your own textbook.
“You’re coming, right?” He asked softly, his bunny ears back against his head.
You smiled and nodded. “Yeah, Kook. I’d love to.”
“Good.”
————
You rang the doorbell, though you doubted you really needed to when Jungkook opened the door the moment you pressed it.
He grinned. “You came!”
“I told you I would,” You replied, smiling and following him inside. You let him take your coat and scarf.
Three curious little heads were peeking around the doorway, whispering and giggling.
Jungkook gestured toward them. “The triplets, Nari, Kaemon, and Minsu. You guys can meet her, she doesn’t bite. Right y/n?”
You nodded. “Right. Jungkook has told me lots about you.”
Nari and one of the boys hurried forward, sniffing and smiling at you.
“Are you Jungkook’s girlfriend?” The boy asked.
“Yah, Minsu, what have we told you about sticking your nose where it isn’t wanted?” Jungkook asked, tossing the boy over his shoulder.
Minsu just laughed. “Hyung!”
Nari hopped closer. “Hi, you smell good.”
“That’s not how we start polite conversation,” A woman, Emma—you assumed, said softly.
Nari gave her a sheepish smile. “Hello, I’m Nari, Jungkook-oppa’s little sister. That’s Minsu, and this is Kaemon,” She said, pulling the last little boy from where he was hiding shyly beside his mother’s legs.
“Nice to meet you, Nari.” You shook her little hand, then stood back up at smiled at the woman. “You must be Emma?”
She nodded. “And you’re y/n. Jungkook has told us a lot about you.”
“All good?”
She laughed when Kook gave both of you a scared look. “Of course.”
You smiled. “Thank you for letting me come here—”
“Oh, don’t even mention it. We’re happy to have you. Alright, my little munchkins, time for quiet time with your appa and me.” She herded the two on the floor toward the stairs. “Have fun. Don’t burn the house down. Same rules as always,” She told Jungkook, kissing his cheek after he put Minsu down.
“Yes, eomma,” He replied softly, looking at her with more love than you had ever seen on his face before. It was strange seeing him at home. He was nice, really and truly, but he always seemed a little nervous even around his friends. Here he was completely relaxed, ears in a neutral position and expression completely open.
You loved it.
She disappeared upstairs, calling over her shoulder, “Tell Jin to bring the can of whipped cream.”
“Yes, eomma,” Jungkook waved for you to follow him into the next room. “Bathroom is over there. This is the kitchen and living room.”
You nodded, scurrying a little closer because now you were feeling a little shy as you saw his family all gathered in the area, most of the attention was on a toddler that was playing with a stuffed animal the same size as her, her stump of a tail lashing playfully.
“Appa, eomma said to bring the can of whipped cream,” Jungkook told a dog-hybrid that was putting mugs on a tray. “This is y/n. Y/n, this is Jin. He’s the one who adopted me.”
You smiled. “Jungkook’s told me all about you. And Emma. Actually, all of you. I’m sort of a history buff, I like hearing people’s stories.”
Jin smiled at you. “Welcome to our house. Glad to meet you. We understand that you’re the reason Jungkook’s passed most of his classes this semester.”
You giggled as Jungkook groaned and rolled his eyes. “He just needed someone to make him sit down and study, right, Kook?”
He grumbled something about regrets.
You turned as someone tapped your shoulder.
The monkey-hybrid grinned at you. “I’m Taehyung. And you’re standing under mistletoe.”
You looked up, eyes widening.
He dropped a kiss on your lips quickly, then darted away with a mischievous laugh.
You stared after him, then quickly sidestepped away from the mistletoe before anyone else got any bright ideas. Your pressed the back of your cold fingers to your burning cheeks.
Jin was barely suppressing his laughter.
Jungkook was rigid, eyes huge, brow furrowed, and lips parted in surprise.
You cleared your throat. “Um, introduce me to the others before they decide to introduce themselves to me under mistletoe.”
Jungkook scowled momentarily, then nodded and led the way over to the others. “That’s Yoongi and his daughter Eunyeong, that’s Taehyung, who you met. Namjoon and his mate, Ava. Jimin and his wife, Ariel. Hoseok and Ren. This is y/n. My friend.”
“Good kisser,” Taehyung chuckled.
You closed your eyes, listening as Taehyung was scolded and teased and told to behave.
Jungkook put an arm around you. “Don’t worry. I’ll take him if he tries anything again.”
You glanced up at him and then let him lead you to a seat on the couch Yoongi was sitting on.
Eunyeong came over, curious. “Hi.”
“Hello,” You replied, waving a little.
She grinned. “Hi.”
You giggled. “Hello, what’s your name?”
“Euny,” She replied, hugging your legs as she sniffed you. “W’as you name?”
“Y/n,” You told her gently.
She parroted you, then giggled and let go, going over to Yoongi. “Appa, that’s y/n,” She said, crawling up into his lap and then reaching precariously to pull the stuffed animal up as well.
He stopped her, picking it up himself and setting it on Jungkook’s lap. “Careful, Euny.” He spoke in a tired voice, unemotional, but she just purred and snuggled into him, earning a small smile.
Ava, Namjoon’s mate, smiled at you. “Jungkook talks a lot about you. What about him? What’s he like when he’s not around us?”
“Jumpy,” You replied, hearing a small grunt of protest from Jungkook. You nudged him. “Don’t deny it. Took me two months, that’s fourteen study sessions where we spent three hours together to get him to even look my in the eyes and speak a sentence without then blushing and running out on some fruitless errand like getting more coffee or a snack before inevitably having to return and continue studying. When he finally did start talking to me, it was because he saw my boyfriend cheating on me.”
“That was a mess,” Jungkook muttered, arm going around your shoulders again and his nose twitching like he smelled something bad.
Ren gave a sympathetic smile. “Jerk?”
“Major jerk. Made it so I was afraid to even talk to him. Jungkook and my friends had to back me up. Even then, my former owner had to threaten him to never come around me again. My roommate was extremely concerned. But that was forever ago. Jungkook’s talked to me ever since.” You gently elbowed him, smiling at him.
Ava flashed you a big grin. “How long have you two been—”
“Isn’t it time for Eunyeong’s nap?” Jungkook asked a little too loudly.
Yoongi gave Jungkook a glare you would never want to receive.
Euny went still, eyes getting huge, tail fluffing out. “Nooooo!” She mewled out, sounding absolutely heartbroken. Tears immediately fell down her face.
The entire room was tense.
Ava and Namjoon looked like they were looking for something to attack.
Jimin’s ears were back, looking almost as heartbroken as Eunyeong sounded and Ariel was holding onto him and biting her lip.
Hoseok had his face behind his hand and Ren was giving Yoongi a sympathetic look.
Jungkook looked like he had serious regrets. “Hyung, I’m sorry.”
Yoongi snatched up Eunyeong and her stuffed animal. “Shh, baby, it’s not time for a nap.” He went into a different room that Jungkook hadn’t labeled.
Taehyung reached out, looking upset, but he then gave Jungkook a hard look. “Yah! Jungkook! We just told you not to mention naps around Euny!”
Jungkook’s ears were flat and the scent he gave off spoke of how ashamed he felt. “Sorry, hyung.”
You reached out and touched Taehyung’s shoulder as he got ready to speak again. “I’m sure it wasn’t intentional, oppa.”
Taehyung looked at you, expression softening into something a little more like an upset pout. He took your hand.
Then Jungkook had him pinned to the floor and Taehyung was yelping in surprise.
You flinched.
Jimin quickly pulled Jungkook off of Taehyung after some harshly whispered words and a stern look.
Jungkook tore away from Jimin, grabbed your arm and pulled you out of the room, he tossed your coat, purse, and scarf at you before dragging you outside.
“Jungkook?!” You finally tore away from him once you were both outside.
He whipped around and glared at you. “Why did you do that?”
“Do what?” You asked, folding your arms, and glaring right back.
“Let him kiss you! Touch him! Calling him oppa! What are you doing treating him like that? Now his smell is all over you!” He grabbed you and pulled you to his chest, holding you there as he growled a very un-bunny-like growl.
You were sort of stunned into complacency as he started rubbing all over you, covering you with his scent.
“Stupid mistletoe, stupid Taehyung,” He muttered, suddenly nipping at your scent gland.
You jumped. “Jungkook?”
He pulled away when he heard your tone, wincing. “I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.”
You just looked at him, bewildered. “What is going on, Jungkook?”
He looked down. “I don’t want his scent on you.”
“So you tackled him and then dragged me out into the cold?” You slipped your coat on. “And basically kicked me out of your house after inviting me. I haven’t even been here half an hour. If you didn’t want me to come, then you shouldn’t have invited me!”
He looked up at you with alarm. “What? No! I want you here! I’m not kicking you out, I just had to get you away from him! From them! It’s not fair for their scent to be on you when none of mine is!”
You frowned at him. “Jungkook, your scent is all over me. Taehyung barely touched me. You’ve been hanging all over me for weeks. It’d take four showers and a completely new wardrobe to get your scent out.”
He blinked at you.
“Could you just say it? Could you just tell me that you want to date me. To be my mate already. Do you even realize that you’ve basically been going through all the regular mating rituals without ever saying anything?” You folded your arms, frowning at him. “Or kissing me. I think I’ve been pretty patient through all of this, don’t you?”
His eyes were huge, staring at you, but also distant as his mind went over everything. “Oh man, holy—”
“Jungkook?” Emma asked, opening the front door. “What is going on?”
He looked over at her, then back at you as you pulled your scarf tightly around you to ward off the cold. You wore your dress jacket because you were just going from the car to the house and it provided very little warmth.
“Y/n, are you leaving already?” Emma asked, still giving Jungkook that mom look.
“I honestly don’t know,” You replied, folding your arms and hunching your shoulders to try and contain the warmth.
Jungkook closed his eyes. “Eomma, could you go back inside. We’ll be back in soon.”
She looked at you, silently asking if you were okay.
You hesitated, then nodded.
She nodded and went back inside.
Jungkook put both hands on your shoulders. “I didn’t realize I was doing it.”
“I’m seeing that.”
“I’m sorry. I…should have been more careful and I shouldn’t have reacted like that. I just…after seeing you with your ex…I never wanted to see you hurt again and when Taehyung kissed you…” He scowled at the ground, then looked into your eyes with determination. “Will you still have me?”
You blinked at the intensity in his gaze. “I don’t know.”
He looked down, then stepped closer and kissed you. It was soft, sweet, everything you knew he was.
Perfect.
You looked up at him. “You can’t just freak out like that. Not around your family. It’s embarrassing for me, you know.”
He nodded. “I’m sorry. I just…I didn’t want to lose you so I never said anything.”
“Jungkook,” You said softly. “Just kiss me.”
He relaxed, smiling and leaning down to kiss you again. Then again. His arms wrapped around you, and you curled into the warmth that emanated from him.
He pulled away, running his fingers through your hair with a small smile. “I’ve always wanted to play with your hair. And feel your ears. Can I feel your ears?”
You nodded, leaning into his chest.
His hand slid through your hair, then pet it down before he tentatively slid his hand over your ears. “They’re so small and cute,” He murmured.
You giggled softly. “I’m a squirrel-hybrid. What did you expect?”
He leaned down and kissed you. “Is it weird that we’re different hybrid species?”
“Do you really care? Because if you do, then we can’t go forward.”
“I don’t. I just wanted to make sure you didn’t think so. You met Ariel. She’s a mix of two hybrid species. She’s fox and cat. We’re at least in the same family of species.” Jungkook looked thoughtful.
“Um,” You started, wondering if you should burst his bubble. “Actually, squirrels are in the order Rodentia while rabbits are in the order Lagomorpha, which puts me in the family Sciuridae and you in the family Leporidae.”
He blinked at you blankly. “But…”
“It changed a few years ago. Like twelve.”
He looked at the ground. “Well, that’s going to affect my grade in Biology…”
You winced. “That was actually on your test?”
He nodded.
“Well, you should still be able to pass. Come on. I’m freezing. And I was promised food.”
He blinked a few more times, then nodded. “Right. You look cute when you eat. Your cheeks get all puffy.”
You groaned. “Do not let me store food in my cheeks in front of your family. I am not going to behave like a squirrel in front of them.”
“It’s cute. If we’re dating, can I play with your tail? It’s so fluffy.”
“Not in front of other people. I have pride, you know.” You hit him in the face with your tail.
He smiled at you. “Can we cuddle?”
“Sure, but don’t trap me. I’ll freak out.”
He caught you, ears perked with excitement. “Can we hang out without studying?”
“We better,” You replied, smiling up at him.
He bit his lip. “I freaked out earlier and mentioned Eunyeong’s naptime because Ava was about to ask how long we’ve been dating. She’s trouble. I could see the question in her eyes and I didn’t want her to ask that and make things awkward and everything just spiraled out of control from there. I am so sorry, I promise I won’t do anything like that ever again.”
You just smiled at him. “It’s okay, Kook. It’s nice seeing you here. Where you’re most comfortable. I just want you to be relaxed and happy. Nothing’s going to happen with me and any other guy.”
He nodded, eyes closed as you kissed him. His arm slid gently around your waist, guiding you back inside. He helped you take your coat off, hanging it up with your scarf and purse. He then guided you back into the room where the rest of his family was, including Yoongi and Eunyeong but excluding Emma, Jin, and the triplets.
Jimin came over, looking worried. “Everything okay?”
Jungkook nodded. “Yeah, hyung. I was just being stupid.”
You nudged him gently. “We’re good now. Go apologize to Taehyung.”
He nodded again. “Can you wait here? I want to sit by you.”
You nodded, nudging him again gently.
Jimin stood with you, watching him go. “He never clarified this was a date, did he?”
You laughed softly. “I don’t think he even thought of it as a date until Taehyung kissed me and he didn’t like it.”
He grinned. “You’re all he talks about.”
“I’ve been accused of doing the same by my friends and family,” You replied, biting your lip. “How awkward was it when we left?”
“We’ve had weirder. We just gave Taehyung some sweet potato chips and showed him the pictures of the kids Ariel is working with at the clinic. They’ll talk it out. Ren, Hoseok, and Ava are getting dinner together.” He gestured toward the kitchen where they were working.
Jungkook came back over. “We’re good. Time to eat, Noona?”
“Almost,” Ren replied, setting more dishes on the table.
Jungkook wrapped his arms around you cautiously, sneakily kissing your cheek. “Your tail, that’s going to be enemy number 1, isn’t it?”
“Always,” You replied cheerfully, resting your cheek against his. “But it’s nice and warm like a blanket in winter.”
He smiled. “That does sound nice,” He whispered in your ear.
Taehyung’s laugh filled the room. “Hey! They’re matching shades of red!” He grinned at the two of you and then started dodging around the table as Jungkook playfully chased him.
Your eyes followed your bunny, grateful for this wonderful, magical day.
Description: Hybrid!JungkookXHybrid!Reader: According to the sister-code between you and your supposed best friend in the world, the crush you harbored for him was forbidden.
A/N: I don’t know why I wrote this, but I did and here it is. It didn’t go like I expected it to. I thought it would be longer and angstier.
He was off limits due to the sisterly code of conduct that you had agreed to with your best friend Mira. So, of course, he was breathtakingly handsome, kind, funny, bright, and so perfect.
And you were invisible to him, and had been for about a year now. You remembered when he used to talk to you instead of avoid you. Not to mention you had to avoid him for the sake of your sanity, and friendship with Mira. She had a huge jealous streak.
It was just as well, he and Mira were trying for puppies, their attempts forcing you out of your house whenever she was in heat since his place had a tree fall on it.
“I can’t look!” Mira said, handing you a pregnancy test.
You sighed and looked at the test for her. You hated that she kept testing herself without any signs of actually being pregnant. “Sorry.”
She deflated and sighed. “Are you sure?”
“One line, Mira. I do know how pregnancy tests work.”
She whined and dropped onto your couch. “We’re doing everything right. More than right. And still, nothing.”
“Then talk to a doctor.”
“I…I don’t know…”
“Mira, where’s the rush? We’re still young.”
“I want them.”
You sighed and rolled your eyes, trying to keep your tail in a neutral position so that she wouldn’t be able to see how annoyed you were. She was like this every time she found out she wasn’t pregnant.
“Oh, I know what this is, you’re jealous that I have someone to have kids with,” she said, sitting up and getting an attitude.
“No, I’m tired of having to leave my house because you’re in your damn heat, and want his house to finally be finished so that I can have some peace and quiet.”
“Sorry,” he said, surprising you. “I’m trying to get it finished as quickly as I can.”
“Don’t apologize to her, she’s being a bitch,” Mira pouted.
You rolled your eyes, trying not to grit your teeth.
Jungkook looked at Mira, then glanced at you. “Mira, we are in her house. We’re lucky she let us stay with her.”
“Yeah, lucky,” she sneered at you.
You snapped your book shut and got up. “It’s not my fault you aren’t pregnant, Mira. Go to a damn doctor. Or better yet, be patient.”
Mira’s eyes were wide with alarm.
Jungkook was frozen. “Pregnant? What?”
You stared at your friend in disbelief. “Mira, you decided this on your own?”
“Stay out of it, y/n! You’ve done enough, just get out!” Mira screeched at you.
Your shoulders tensed and your ears went back, fighting the urge to snarl at her as you forced yourself to turn around and leave the room.
The first time he really even payed attention to you in a year, and it was because of you and Mira fighting. Perfect. Absolutely perfect.
Three hours later you snuck back out of your room and down to the kitchen to make yourself some dinner. You didn’t want to talk to her, or see her. You’d had just about all you could handle from her, and if she came in expecting your dinner to be for everyone you might punch her in the face.
“Hey.”
You jumped and spun around with the knife in hand.
Jungkook held up his hands, eyes wide for a moment before a smile broke out. “Didn’t mean to scare you.”
You shook your head and turned back the cutting the potatoes. You didn’t know what to say to him. He normally didn’t talk to you.
“Sorry about earlier,” he said.
You put the last few potatoes in the pot and gave him a quizzical look. “You didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Well, my house…”
“Was something you couldn’t prevent happening.”
“But we’re invading your space.”
You turned to look at him. “Seriously, Jungkook. My beef is with Mira. It’s like I don’t even know her anymore.” You ran a hand through your hair.
“Tell me about it,” he frowned at the floor. “I mean…how long has she been talking about having…”
“Eight months? Ten maybe?” You shook your head. “Feels like forever.”
His eyes were wide and he was frozen in place. “What?!”
“If I had known that she wasn’t planning this with you I would have said something. Honestly, I’m still surprised that you’re talking to me,” you told him, folding your arms uncomfortably.
His fearful look suddenly switched to confused. “Why wouldn’t I talk to you?”
You shrugged. “I don’t know, I’m an absolute delight,” you joked, looking at the floor.
He laughed.
“Unless you ask Mira. Is she hiding in her room?”
“She went to talk to a doctor.” He got really quiet, looking at the floor.
You looked up at him. “And you’re okay with that? With all of this? You’re just going to let her have what she wants?”
He looked at you, his eyes showing how conflicted he was. “I don’t know. I haven’t really had time to process. I…I didn’t even think we were at that point in our relationship.”
“You two are already mates, what else is there?” You turned away from him so he couldn’t see how upset you were with the conversation. He was too good for her. He deserved better.
He was quiet. “I…we’re…have I really never spoken to you before?”
“Nothing beyond small talk.” What did this have to do with Mira wanting babies?
“Sorry.”
You closed your eyes. “You should probably stop talking to me unless you want Mira to say I’m trying to steal you from her.”
“Jungkook!” Mira called from the living room. She sounded upset.
He started to hurry out but she came in first, in tears.
“I can’t have puppies!” She sobbed and collapsed against his chest.
You froze, then turned back towards your food. Let him deal with her. You felt bad, really, but given the way she was behaving the past couple months you had a hard time finding your sympathy.
Jungkook looked a little lost, holding her but definitely looking a little angry. “I-it’s okay.”
You felt a little guilty, but you finished your food and plated it up before leaving them in the kitchen. You’d had enough torture for one day.
———
You hadn’t thought it possible, but Mira got even more unbearable. She made it really hard to be sympathetic as she ranged from sullen and crying to screaming rage directed at you when Jungkook wasn’t around. As if you had personally been the one to make her unable to have kids.
And though she had yet to comment on it, you knew she was getting back at you for talking with Jungkook while she wasn’t around.
You found a hole in your favorite blanket, rotten food was left in your lunches for work, and you were currently cleaning up the latest of these ‘presents’.
Someone had replaced your hairspray with glue.
Jungkook came home from his job and found you crying as you tried to find a way to get it out. “Y/n?”
Mira was right behind him and she rolled her eyes. “What? Did you watch the old pound commercial? You’re such a baby, y/n.”
You slammed the laptop shut. “Get out.”
“What?” Jungkook asked.
You stood up and looked at Mira. “Get out of my house. Get out of my life. I can’t deal with your toxic behavior anymore. Glue in my hairspray? Putting moldy food in my lunches? Screaming at me in a rage as if it’s my fault you can’t have kids? I can’t take it anymore. It’s like you’re a completely different person and I’m sorry you can’t have kids but it isn’t okay to take everything out on me! So as harsh as it seems: Get out.”
Mira’s surprise had quickly faded into semi-fake tears of hurt. “You’re such a bitch! Go to hell! Why should I leave? You get out!”
“It’s my house! I pay all of the bills, it’s in my name. I was being nice when I let you stay here and you repaid me by harassing me. I’m sorry you don’t always get your way, but that’s life sweetheart. I won’t put up with it. I don’t even want to apologize to you, Mira. That’s how bad it is. I do apologize to Jungkook because he definitely didn’t do anything to deserve getting kicked out of my house with you and I know his house is still a disaster zone but this behavior is unacceptable.”
She made a pathetic sound. “I can’t believe you’re so jealous of my relationship with Jungkook that you would stoop to lying, y/n.”
Your hand connected with her face before you could even think.
Jungkook quickly stepped between the two of you before she could retaliate. “Mira, go outside.”
“Wh—“
“Now,” he said firmly, but quietly.
She sulked and headed out.
You stood, frozen, half in anger and half in shock that you had slapped her.
He waited until the door closed behind her, then turned to you. “Are you okay?”
“Oh I’m fantastic. Really.” She responded, tears filling your eyes.
He touched your hair then winced. “I’m so sorry, y/n.”
“You’re not the one who should be apologizing. Is this really the life you want, Jungkook? Always apologizing for her and dealing with this psychotic behavior?”
“Why would she think you were jealous of her?”
“Because I had a crush on you for about half a minute before you two started dating and she can’t let go of anything! Or maybe because I don’t have a boyfriend. Or maybe it’s just because she’s psychotic.” Then you looked at him and scoffed. “And you know it. You don’t love her, so why is she your mate?”
“She’s not my mate.” He was looking at the floor.
“Really? You expect me to believe that?”
He looked into your eyes. “I couldn’t mark her.”
You flinched back at the intensity in his eyes. “So you were just using her?”
He winced. “No…yes…but she knew it. She needed someone to help her through her heat and I had needed someone to introduce to my parents to get them off of my back. I didn’t want to ask the person I was in love with because I didn’t want her to get the wrong idea. Then…she said that the person didn’t love me back. And I couldn’t break up with Mira. I’ve tried. Four times now. But…then things would go even worse at the house as far as repairs. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it was her doing.”
You took a shaky breath. “So she’s screwing us both over?”
The anger in his eyes was beautiful to you. “I’m so sorry, y/n.” He pulled you into a hug as your frustrated tears started falling.
It was weird, but all the frustration from the previous weeks, the anger, the pain, all of it was finally catching up to you and you sobbed into his strong shoulder.
He pulled you away after a couple minutes. “I—I can’t get away from her on my own.”
You took a couple calming breaths, nodding. “What do you want me to do?”
He frowned a little, thinking, then his jaw set with determination. “Let me kiss you.”
“You want her to kill me?”
He shook his head. “I won’t let her kill you.”
“You’ll already be dead…”
He growled in frustration. “I will pull your tail.”
You flinched slightly. “I’ll bite your throat.”
“I like that sort of thing.”
You snorted as you started laughing. “I’m sorry…”
He was grinning, laughing a little too. “See? You’re perfect.”
“Hardly,” you countered, sitting on the arm of the couch. Then the tone of his voice registered and you looked up at him. “Hang on, you said that she told you the person you loved…”
He looked nervous, suddenly. “Uh—“
“Me? You were in love with me?”
He swallowed hard, nodding slightly.
You looked blankly at him for what seemed like forever, the shot back to your feet. “I’m gonna kill her!” You screeched, heading for the front door.
He caught you by the tail, causing you to yelp, and pulled you into his arms, placing a kiss on your lips.
You looked up at him. “What, you want in on the kill?”
“No, I don’t want you to go to jail. You know, we actually have enough evidence that she assaulted you…”
“We have no evidence that she assaulted me.”
He frowned and placed a couple kisses on your lips, even if it was a little shy. “Okay, we’ll think of something else. Just, promise me you won’t secretly try to get pregnant before we’re mates.”
You snorted. “I’m not ready for kids.”
“Me neither,” he said in relief. He nuzzled his face into your shoulder. “I’ve wanted to do this for so long.”
“You BITCH!” Mira’s screech echoed in the quiet room and she flew towards you. She got one nasty hit in before Jungkook dragged her away, then stood between you two, glaring at her.
“You’re not welcome here,” he growled.
She fought and screamed more, always aiming for you. Growls and barks escaped between the screams of how she would kill you and watch vultures feast on your flesh. Lovely things like that.
Until the police arrived.
Jungkook spoke to them first, then you did and they probably only believed you because of the death threats she was still screaming.
After the police left, Jungkook turned toward you.
“You’ve had a pretty rough month…”
You shrugged, dropping your gaze. “I still haven’t figured out how to fix my hair. What if I have to cut off?”
He took your hands. “It’ll grow back. Come on, I’ll help you look for answers.”
An hour later Jungkook was blow-drying your hair to make sure all the glue was out of it.
He turned it off and kissed the top of your head a little shyly. “Perfect.”
You finally relaxed. “It’s all out?”
“Its all out.”
Your eyes closed as relief washed over you.
“I’m sorry, y/n. You should never have been tortured like this.” His voice was soft. “I should have been stronger. Braver. I should have just told you how I felt before all of this happened.”
You shook your head. “I was just as weak.”
He tilted your chin up to face him. “I’m going to make you the happiest person on the planet. I promise.”
You smiled, finding his promise a touch unrealistic, but it definitely had your tail wagging again. “Not if I make you the happiest person first.”
