1. Which book has been on your shelves the longest?
Oh gosh.. there’s probably a few that are close. Maybe Huckleberry Finn or The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles?
2. What is your current read, your last read and the book you’ll read next?
I am a terrible reader lately and need to finish Half Blood Prince. I think my last read was Their Fractured Light from the Starbound Trilogy? Idk.... And the next book I’ll probably read is something my sister is recommending, I can’t remember the name at the moment. It might have the word “point” in the title.
3. Which book does everyone like and you hated?
Um, well, “hate” is a strong word but... I wasn’t super fond of the Hunger Games series. Like, it was ok. But I wasn’t really in love with it. Katniss annoyed me and I just couldn’t get attached to anyone. Idk. Mostly I just felt bad for Peeta.
4. Which book do you keep telling yourself you’ll read, but you probably won’t?
The Ender’s Game series probably, tbh. Everyone says they’re awesome, and I believe them, but I just don’t think I’m motivated enough. Plus I read the first few chapters of the first book and it was seriously depressing already. Idk if I want to trudge through all that.
5. Which book are you saving for “retirement?”
Do people save books for retirement??? Dude, I’ve got, like, 30 more years.
6. Last page: read it first or wait till the end?
NO!! You don’t skip to the last page, that’s CHEATING! My sister does it all the time and I’m like, !!!??!?! No.
7. Acknowledgements: waste of ink and paper or interesting aside?
I think they’re sweet but I don’t really pay attention to them.
8. Which book character would you switch places with?
Elizabeth Bennet because I, too, would like to attract a rich dude with my sarcastic wit and stubborn attitude.
9. Do you have a book that reminds you of something specific in your life (a person, a place, a time)?
My aunt gave me The Secret Garden right before I went on a long flight, so now I think about traveling every time I see it.
10. Name a book you acquired in some interesting way.
One time I exchanged currency to obtain a novel.
11. Have you ever given away a book for a special reason to a special person?
I don’t give my books away.
12. Which book has been with you to the most places?
Oh, um?? Idk?? I bring books on the go, but I don’t really have a “go-to”.
13. Any “required reading” you hated in high school that wasn’t so bad ten years later?
No. I either liked it or I didn’t and I haven’t gone back to reevaluate.
14. What is the strangest item you’ve ever found in a book?
Nothing?? I usually buy them new. If I buy them used, I think maybe the most exciting thing would be a receipt??
15. Used or brand new?
I like my books to look nice, but I’m not opposed to used books. I also like a good bargain.
16. Stephen King: Literary genius or opiate of the masses?
I have honestly never read a Stephen King book. Go ahead. Take away my “book worm” card. I don’t care.
17. Have you ever seen a movie you liked better than the book?
Probably the Bourne trilogy. The books were good! I just liked the movies more. They did a good job of updating the story, condensing it, and still keeping some of the main points. (Although there were some differences I’d like to fight over. MARIE!!)
18. Conversely, which book should NEVER have been introduced to celluloid?
This is gonna be a bit obscure, but I read House and flipping loved it and was so excited to see the movie. But the movie was absolutely terrible. And they didn’t even get the message of the book right. So now I am forever bitter.
19. Have you ever read a book that’s made you hungry, cookbooks being excluded from this question?
Idk man, if you mention warm bread and butter in your book, prob??
20. Who is the person whose book advice you’ll always take?
Maybe one of my irl friends?? But she can be iffy sometimes...
