Although it took me over a month to read, I always came back to this book. Eager to find what happened to Chase Andrews, the jerk of the small town. The Marsh Girl, Kya, left alone to fend for herself crushed me. To think of everyone abandoning her and teasing her for only trying to be a kid. The type of bullying and loneliness that people of today could not handle, including myself. I felt Kyas feelings, disappointments and heartbreaks. @authordeliaowens painted a picture so beautifully. She writes sentences that make you love the music of the marsh, the colorful feathers of a bird and the mischievous ways of insects. This is an amazing book that I will definitely pick up and read again.
